First RTX 3090 Ti pre-orders appear online for almost $4,000
Trouble in paradise for Nvidia
Remember the RTX 3090 Ti? You know, the one that Nvidia silently delayed? According to Moore’s Law is Dead, the RTX 3090 Ti’s production was delayed indefinitely after production was halted. However, now the YouTuber assumes that the card isn’t going to be appearing any time soon. We’ve seen no AIB boxes for the RTX 3090 Ti, and we’ve only yet seen the cooler for the RTX 3090 Ti Kingpin. But, why is this all happening?
RTX 3090 Ti delayed indefinitely?
Moore’s Law is Dead’s sources claim that Nvidia has gone silent with the card itself since the news that production was halted indefinitely. It’s going to be incredibly low-volume, with the card’s availability only in extremely limited quantities. We can only assume that the card is having yield issues with the GA102 chip, which needs to be an exceptional performer if they are going to segment this chip into as many performance ‘buckets’ as they have done so thus far. It’s worth mentioning that GA102 is currently being used in the RTX 3080, RTX 3080 12GB, RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3090. Therefore, it’s not that bad if chips don’t make the binning process involved in the creation of an RTX 3090 Ti, because they can simply reuse the chip elsewhere in the stack. But, if the yields for these ‘golden samples’ are so limited, why announce the product in the first place?
Moore’s Law is Dead also attributes the delay to the Lunar New Year holidays, where they encountered production problems, everyone goes on holiday for a few weeks. It’s also a cultural tradition to switch jobs around the Lunar New Year, therefore this could be a part of the reason why the RTX 3090 Ti has been delayed. It’s speculated that the card is going to release from anywhere between the tail end of February, all the way to the end of April. It’s really all up in the air as of the time of writing.
Nvidia wants to appear competitive
The GPU market is an ever-evolving place at the moment, with various manufacturers coming out with either refreshes, new cards or entirely new lines of GPU. AMD is preparing the RX 6X50 XT series on their high-end chips, and Intel is preparing themselves to launch their Arc Alchemist dedicated desktop GPUs. Therefore. Nvidia wants to keep themselves competitive with regards to what they are doing, and of course, want to keep the performance crown if anything threatens them. That’s why the RTX 3090 Ti even exists, especially for the spotted pre-order pricing that has gone live in certain places.
RTX 3090 Ti pre-orders go live for almost $4,000
Despite the delays, the halting of manufacture, the fact that we’ve not seen many, if any AIB SKUs go live yet, somehow stores are still taking pre-orders for the card. Moore’s Law is Dead has also reported that retailers in Vietnam have put up their initial pre-order page for the GALAX GeForce EX Gamer Black Edition RTX 3090 for around $3,840 USD. If this is one of the more basic cooling solution on the card, and if we account for international pricing, we could be seeing the card retail at around $4,000 in the US and more than that in Europe and the UK. Of course, this card isn’t going to give you the best price to performance in the world, but it’s instead intended to be a world-record producing card when it comes to benchmarks. It’s entirely overkill for most use-cases, especially for gaming.
Over the last few years, there have been more changes occurring across the enterprise than in any other market. The corporate world, which was once loath to even consider modifying roadmaps and buying new products without waiting years to see how they held up, has thrown those old models on their head. Now, more companies than ever are investing in new ideas and products.
As of late, the other mobile form factor worth considering is Ultrabooks. The thin, lightweight, notebook spec created by Intel has made a huge mark on the mobile market. And according to most analysts, in the coming years, they could very well become the most popular notebook form factor on the market.
But as the enterprise becomes more willing to adopt such devices, it’s also thinking about what it should buy right now. In the following slides, we’re going to examine that, and list the five tablets and five Ultrabooks IT decision-makers should be considering bringing to the office.
Next tablet: Acer Aspire S3
Apple’s new iPad, which is slated to hit store shelves on March 16, seems to be an ideal tablet option for today’s enterprise user. It’s the tablet that the vast majority of employees want, plus it combines the new A5X processor with the Retina Display to make it a notable step up over the iPad 2. Furthermore, its 4G LTE integration is ideal for employees who are on the road.
Next tablet: Acer Aspire S3
Next tablet: Cisco Cius
The Acer Aspire S3 is one of the most powerful Ultrabooks on the market, boasting a 13.3-inch LED display, Intel’s Core i5 processor, and a design that will make any client take a second to admire when employees break it out of the bag. Plus, it’s running Windows 7, making it a potentially more useful device than a tablet alternative.

Next tablet: Cisco Cius
Next tablet: Asus Zenbook
When Cisco launched the Cius last year, the company made it clear that it didn’t want its device to be an iPad killer. Instead, it hoped that enterprise users would see value in the Cius for its ability to be integrated into existing Cisco products. And although it’s Android-based, it comes with a host of security features that should allay at least some of the fears associated with the operating system.
Next tablet: Asus Zenbook
Next tablet: RIM Blackberry Playbook
The Asus Zenbook combines the key features that make Ultrabooks so special: power and mobility. The device comes with Intel’s Core i3, i5, or i7 processor, depending on the user’s preference, and boasts either an 11.6- or 13.3-inch display. Add that to its inclusion of a USB 3.0 port and Bluetooth 4.0, and it quickly becomes clear the Zenbook is one worth considering for the office this year.

Next tablet: RIM Blackberry Playbook
Next ultrabook: Dell XPS
Research In Motion has been suffering through an exceedingly difficult time over the last couple years as competitors deliver far more appealing devices. Still, the company’s 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook is at least worth considering for IT decision-makers that are concerned about Android security and see little value in the iPad. And with its recent addition of native e-mail and contacts support, it’s far more appealing than it was previously.
RIM Blackberry PlayBook
Next ultrabook: Dell XPS
Next ultrabook: Sasmsung Galaxy
Although Dell has lost some of its popularity in the enterprise to companies like HP and Lenovo, the company still delivers a host of high-quality PCs for the corporate world. Chief among them might just be the Dell XPS 13. The Ultrabook boasts a beautifully simple design, and adds serious performance to make it one of the most attractive options in this roundup.
Dell XPS 13
Next ultrabook: Samsung Galaxy
Next ultrabook: Lenovo IdeaPad
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is designed to be the Android-based alternative to Apple’s iPad. It comes with a 10.1-inch screen, 4G LTE connectivity, and an attractive price tag. That said, it’s designed with consumers in mind, and it lacks many of the security features found in the aforementioned Cisco Cius. So, while it might be a worthwhile option for some, it might turn others away.
Galaxy Tab 101
Next ultrabook: Lenovo IdeaPad
Next ultrabook: Lenovo ThinkPad
Lenovo is one of the top PC makers for enterprise users, and its IdeaPad U300 helps the company continue to appeal to those folks. The device comes with the thin, lightweight design expected from an Ultrabook, and features up to 8 hours of battery life, making it a great option for travelers. Plus, it’s optional 256GB solid-state drive is enough to make any IT decision-maker happy.
Next ultrabook: Lenovo ThinkPad
Next ultrabook: Apple Macbook Air
Lenovo’s ThinkPad tablet is a unique option for enterprise customers. The device, which is scheduled to get an update to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in May, works with a stylus. Even better, it can be docked into a keyboard, letting users turn it into a quasi-notebook. Think of the ThinkPad tablet as a half-tablet, half-Ultrabook hybrid. Not bad, right?
Next ultrabook: Apple Macbook Air
Previous ultrabook: Lenovo ThinkPad
OK, OK, so the MacBook Air isn’t exactly an Ultrabook. But let’s not forget that Apple’s thin notebook was the device that inspired Intel’s new spec. It’s also the device that could greatly impact the adoption of Ultrabooks. So, why might the MacBook Air appeal to enterprise users? It’s well-designed, secure, and perhaps most importantly, benefits from consumerization.

Introduction to Security engineering
Security Engineering focuses on the security aspects in the development of the systems so that they can deal robustly with losses caused by accidents ranging from natural disasters to malicious attacks. The main motto of security Engineering is to not only satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements but also preventing the misuse of the system and malicious behavior. Security is one of the quality factors of a system that signifies the ability of the system to protect itself from accidental and malicious external attacks. It is an important issue as networking of the system has increased, and external attacks to the system through the internet can be possible. Security factor makes the system available, safe, and reliable. If a system is a networked System, then the reliability and its safety factors become more unreliable.

Vulnerability avoidance: The system is designed so that vulnerabilities do not occur. Say if there is no network, then the external attack is not possible.
Detection and removal of attacks: The System is designed so that attacks can be detected and removed before they result in any exposure of data programs s same as the virus checkers who detect and remove the viruses before they infect the system.Damage caused due to insecurity.
Corruption of programs and data: The programs or data in the system may be modified by unauthorized users.
Unavailability bod service: The system is affected and out into a state where normal services are not available.
Leakage of confidential information: Information that is controlled by the system may be disclosed to the people who are not authorized to read or use that information.System survivability
System survivability is nothing but an ability of a system to continue performing difficult functions on time even if a few portions of the system are infected by malicious attacks or accidents. System survivability includes elements such an s reliability, dependability, fault tolerance, verification, testing, and information system security. Let’s discuss some of these elements.
Adaptability: even if the system is attacked by a threat, the system should have the capability to adapt to the threat and continue providing service to the user. Also, the network performance should not be degraded by the end-user.
Availability: The degree to which software remains operable in the presence of system failures.
Time: Services should be provided to the user within the time expected by the user.
Connectivity: It is the degree to which a system performs when all nodes and links are available.
Correctness: It is the degree to which all Software functions are specified without any misunderstanding and misinterpretations.
Software dependence: The degree to which hardware does not depend upon the software environment.
Hardware dependence: The degree to which software does not depend upon hardware environments.
Fault tolerance: The degree to which the software will continue to work without a system failure that would cause damage to the user and the degree to which software includes recovery functions
Fairness: It is the ability of the network system to organize and route the information without any failure.
Interoperability: It is the degree to which software can be connected easily with other systems and operated.
Performance: It is concerned with the quality factors kike efficiency, integrity, reliability, and usability. Sub factors include speed and throughput.
Predictability: It is the degree to which a system can provide countermeasures to the system failures in the situation of threats.
Modifiability: It is the degree of effort required to make modifications to improve the efficiency of functions of the software.
Safety: It is the ability of the system to not cause any harm to the network system or personnel system.
Recoverability: It is the ability of the system to recover from an accident and provide normal service on time.
Verifiability: It is about the efforts required to verify the specified Software functions and corresponding performance.
Security: it is the degree to which the software can detect and prevent the information leak, loss of information, and malicious use, and then any type of destruction.
Testability: It is about the efforts required to test the software.
