System permission settings: If the required permissions have not been provided, the printer is bound to throw errors from time to time.
Incorrect or corrupted drivers: Many reported that it was the wrong or corrupt driver that caused the error. One user had the message show up after installing the HP drivers for a Canon printer.
System conflicts: Arises due to misconfigured settings or conflicting hardware and software.
Issues with the printer itself: This includes problems like printer low on/out of paper, paper jams, or low on ink, amongst others.
Hardware-related issues: Check the cables, and look for damaged printer ports and internal debris.
Connectivity issues: Reconnect the printer, verify compatibility, and check for installed drivers.
Also, here are some of the printers you are likely to encounter the issue with:

Printer troubleshooter
Also, run the built-in Printer troubleshooter as it automatically identifies the underlying cause and suggests a solution for it.
In addition to these, you may update the printer driver and make sure to verify that the right one is installed. Also, look for programs that may create conflicts with the functioning of the printer and remove all such apps.
And if none of these work, there’s always the option to perform a system restore, in case the printer worked fine until a few days ago. Just make sure to choose a restore point created before the problem first occurred.

5 Ways To Fix Ifconfig Command Not Found Error On Debian
If you are a Debian user, you might have encountered “ifconfig command not found” error while trying to check your network interface configurations. This error occurs when ifconfig command, which is used to configure and display network interfaces, is not installed on your Debian system or package that contains it is not properly configured. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix this error and get back to managing your network interfaces. In this article, we will discuss five ways to fix ifconfig command not found error on Debian.
Install Net-tools PackageThe first and easiest way to fix ifconfig command not found error is to install net-tools package, which contains ifconfig command. To install net-tools package, you need to open terminal and type following command −
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install net-toolsThe first command updates list of available packages, and second command installs net-tools package, which contains ifconfig command. Once installation is complete, you can use ifconfig command to configure and display network interfaces.
Use ip command instead of ifconfigAnother way to fix ifconfig command not found error is to use ip command instead of ifconfig. ip command is a newer and more powerful tool for managing network interfaces that has replaced ifconfig command in many Linux distributions. To use ip command, you need to open terminal and type following command −
ip addr showThis command displays network interfaces and their configurations. You can also use ip command to configure network interfaces. For example, to configure IP address of an interface, you can type following command −
sudo ip addr add 192.168.1.2/24 dev eth0This command configures IP address of eth0 interface to 192.168.1.2 with a netmask of 24 bits.
Check PATH Environment VariableThe ifconfig command not found error can also occur if directory containing ifconfig command is not included in PATH environment variable. PATH environment variable is a list of directories that shell searches for executable files. To check PATH environment variable, you need to open terminal and type following command −
echo $PATHThis command displays directories in PATH environment variable. If directory containing ifconfig command is not listed, you need to add it to PATH environment variable. To do this, you can type following command −
export PATH=$PATH:/sbinThis command adds /sbin directory, which contains ifconfig command, to PATH environment variable. You can also add this command to your shell startup file to make change permanent.
Install iproute2 PackageIf ip command is not installed on your Debian system, you can install it by installing iproute2 package. To install iproute2 package, you need to open terminal and type following command −
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install iproute2The first command updates list of available packages, and second command installs iproute2 package, which contains ip command. Once installation is complete, you can use ip command to manage your network interfaces.
Upgrade Your Debian SystemIf none of above methods work, you may need to upgrade your Debian system to a newer version that includes ifconfig command or ip command. To upgrade your Debian system, you need to open terminal and type following command −
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgradeThe first command updates list of available packages, and second command upgrades your Debian system to latest version. After upgrade is complete, you can check if ifconfig command or ip command is available.
Use whereis command to locate ifconfigThe whereis command is a useful tool for finding location of executable files. You can use whereis command to locate ifconfig command and check if it is installed on your Debian system. To use whereis command, open terminal and type following command −
whereis ifconfigThis command displays location of ifconfig command on your Debian system. If command is not found, you need to install net-tools package as discussed earlier.
Check if Package is InstalledIf net-tools package is installed on your Debian system but you still get ifconfig command not found error, you need to check if package is properly installed. To do this, open terminal and type following command −
This command lists all installed packages that contain word “net-tools”. If net-tools package is not listed, you need to install it as discussed earlier. If package is listed but its status is “un”, it means that package is not properly installed, and you need to reinstall it.
Use Alternative Network Management ToolsIf you are still having trouble with ifconfig command, you can use alternative network management tools such as NetworkManager, nmcli, or systemd-networkd. These tools provide a more modern and flexible way of managing network interfaces on Debian systems.
To use these tools, you need to install them on your Debian system and learn their syntax and commands. While they may take some time to learn, they provide a more modern and flexible way of managing network interfaces on Debian systems.
ConclusionThe ifconfig command not found error can be frustrating when you need to manage your network interfaces on a Debian system. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix this error, including installing net-tools package, using ip command instead of ifconfig, checking PATH environment variable, installing iproute2 package, and upgrading your Debian system. By following these methods, you can get back to managing your network interfaces and ensure that your Debian system is running smoothly.
In conclusion, if you encounter ifconfig command not found error on Debian, don’t panic. Try methods discussed in this article, and you should be able to resolve error and get back to managing your network interfaces in no time.

5 Ways To Make Your App Sell Itself
Apps have never been more popular than they are today, and no wonder: they add convenience to our personal and professional lives, entertain us, and provide mobile access to websites, services, and other products.
As more consumers jump on the mobile bandwagon, the app marketplace continues to swell with everything from business to entertainment applications. In the Google Play marketplace alone, there are more than 2.2 million apps.
Launching a new app that will get seen and downloaded by mobile users is no simple task in such a crowded market.
App developers need to add marketing and promotion to their skillset, or outsource these tasks, to get any kind of visibility for their app online.
Want to learn more about ASO? Check out this Marketing Nerds podcast with Anne Ahola Ward:
Your browser does not support the audio element.
What are the best ways to make your app stand out? Here are five tactics to gain traction and make your app start selling itself.
1. Invest in Quality VideoDeveloping an app is already a pretty costly venture. On the bright side, it’s much cheaper to market your app as you lead up to launch. Leveraging video should be at the top of your marketing strategy agenda. Consumers love it, it’s easy to digest, and it’s arguably the most effective method of communicating a story to an audience.
Beyond the story, video directly impacts the buying process for a majority of consumers. As many as 90% agree that product videos help them make purchasing decisions, and 64% of users are more likely to follow through with a purchase after viewing video.
I recommend creating more for your app than just a brief explanation video. Put in the investment to craft something immersive, entertaining, and relevant to the interests of your audience. Make sure that product video does more than just show off features for passive viewers.
The video for Jelly is a great example, as it scored more than 200k views:
If you have a limited budget for developing video, then take a cue from the reveal video of Tiny Wings 2. Even on a limited budget, you can still make a great clip. You just need to rely a little more on your creativity.
If you have the time and the budget for more than one video, you should absolutely create one or more teaser videos. A product video helps the app sell itself in an app store or on your website, but teaser videos will build the buzz leading up to your launch and give you the benefit of word-of-mouth marketing before you even release your app to the public.
Post those videos across multiple video hosting sites like YouTube and Vimeo, and be sure to provide a link and call-to-action back to your app page or the app store.
2. Optimize Every Aspect of Your App PageFor people to find your app online, you should optimize it for the words and phrases your audience is using to find solutions that match your creation. This is especially true for Apple’s app store and Google Play.
Optimization makes your app more discoverable, but you’re not just optimizing for the search algorithm of those marketplaces. You also need to optimize for the user. The description you use for your app should be concise, compelling, and focused on the value proposition.
It should clearly answer the question, “What do I get out of downloading this?”
Slack does an excellent job of utilizing keywords within a description of the most important benefits for the user.
To get an idea of what search phrases your audience might use to find you in the app store, check out the top apps similar to your own. Examine the content and try using a number of search queries related to your app, the solution you’re providing, and common problems it solves.
Pay attention to the 4- and 5-star reviews of the most popular apps; they’ll often contain positive keywords you can leverage for your own app.
Optimize the title, description, and keyword field for your application. Use similar optimization for the app page on your website, but don’t directly copy the content. Make sure the textual content is completely unique across your promotional channels so there are multiple avenues through which your customers can find you.
3. Leverage User-Generated ContentEncourage users to leave reviews for your application after they’ve had a chance to use it. For more complex applications, such as mobile business apps for on-the-go professionals, solicit subscribers and ask if they can provide testimonials or results from their use of your app.
Testimonials and reviews should be in the spotlight on your website, and they can also be worked into updated videos and other marketing materials to develop the trust of your audience through social proof.
Reviews within the app marketplace itself are usually the most valuable because they directly impact app ranking and contribute to higher user conversions and app installation rates.
4. Reduce FrictionIf you complicate the process more than that, expect to lose some prospects from friction. This is especially true if you have a sign-up, membership requirement, or registration form that prevent users from accessing your app’s features until they complete the initial process.
Understandably, you need the information for membership-based products and apps, like SaaS products, but you don’t need to collect every piece of information right off the bat.
There is already evidence that proves a reduction in the number of form fields can dramatically impact conversions for registration and opt-ins. Trim the information required to get started and eliminate that excess friction. You can always gather more information once they’re in the door.
Freshbooks is a prime example, since their sign-up is limited to just two fields. You can’t get more welcoming than that to get someone to sign up for your free trial.
The same technique was used during Obama’s presidential campaign. Eliminating form fields in the contribution section greatly reduced friction and lifted conversions for donors and other web visitors.
5. Make Social Your Main Feedback ChannelThere are many benefits to having multiple methods for connecting with customers, but if you have a stellar model for customer service, then show it off to prospects and customers alike. Designate social media as your primary feedback channel.
Prospective customers clearly see how you and your team handle service-related issues, which can build trust and lead to a purchase
Brand/product visibility expands as prospective customers see their connections engage with you
There are no costs for monitoring and responding to customers in social media outlets
Reach and engagement will improve across the social channels you use, which should gradually spark more engagement from your followers

7 Ways To Fix Mac Error Code 50
Has the Mac error code 50 suddenly interrupted your workflow, preventing you from copying, moving, or deleting one or more files? You’re not the first to have encountered this pesky issue, which can arise for various reasons. But no matter why this macOS error is bothering you, our easy-to-follow solutions will help you fix the Mac error code 50 in no time.
Tip: ensuring your data is safely tucked away can save you from stress and hassle if things don’t go right. Always back up your essential files and follow this strategy before troubleshooting any issues on your Mac.
What Does the Mac Error Code 50 Mean?“The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50).”
It’s essentially an input/output error meant to notify you that your Mac is struggling with reading from the source, writing to the destination, or possibly both.
Why Does the Mac Error Code 50 Occur?Understanding the causes behind the notorious error code 50 can offer some peace of mind and, more importantly, help you determine which solutions described later in this article are most likely to work.
Dying storage device: the most common cause of error code 50 is an aging storage device nearing its end. If your internal or external hard drive is failing, it can cause various errors, including error code 50.
File system corruption: your Mac’s file system must be in top shape to work as intended. When it gets corrupted (perhaps as a result of an improper shutdown or storage device removal), error code 50 can be an unwelcome consequence.
Operating system issue: the culprit behind error code 50 can also be the operating system itself, especially if you’ve been tweaking it or installing various third-party software and giving it all kinds of elevated privileges.
Other less common causes include malware, file system compatibility issues, and metadata conflicts.
Good to know: you can reduce the risk of storage-related errors and data corruption by discovering how to check your SSD Health on macOS.
How to Fix Mac Error Code 50With a better understanding of why error code 50 can occur, let’s dive into how to fix it.
1. Restart Your MacNever underestimate the power of simple solutions, as they can be surprisingly effective when solving complicated problems, and a quick restart is the best example of this. When you restart your Mac, you clear temporary data and force the operating system, drivers, and apps to relaunch. In some cases, that’s all it takes to fix error code 50 on a Mac. Follow these steps to restart your Mac:
Optionally, uncheck the “Reopen windows when logging back in” checkbox.
Tip: no luck with a regular restart? Try booting to Safe Mode to help you diagnose the issue.
2. Reconnect Your Storage DeviceIf you’re encountering error code 50 when trying to copy, move, or delete files on an external storage device, then it’s a good idea to reconnect the device. When you unplug then reconnect an external storage device, your Mac gets another chance to properly recognize it and establish a healthy connection. Safely reconnect an external storage device by following these steps:
Launch Finder.
Find your external storage device in the “Locations” section of the left pane.
Physically unplug the device from your Mac.
Plug the device back in to your Mac.
Tip: purchasing an external storage drive is an excellent idea for those still contemplating how much storage they need on their Mac.
Launch System Settings.
Wait for the update to install.
Log in to your Mac after it reboots.
Tip: are you regularly postponing important macOS updates because you’re afraid that your Mac may become unusable? Don’t be! There are ways to fix a frozen Mac during an update.
4. Check Your Storage for ErrorsThe macOS operating system has a useful system utility called “Disk Utility.” This utility is packed with tools to deal with storage devices. Included among them is “First Aid,” a file system repair tool that can check your storage device for errors, repair any it finds, and in doing so, possibly fix the stubborn error code 50. This is how to put First Aid to work:
Select the storage device that’s been giving you trouble in the left pane. If you’re not sure which storage device to select, we recommend checking all connected storage devices one by one.
Good to know: you can also repair corrupted Mac hard disks using the “File System Consistency Check” or “fsck” command-line in the Terminal app.
5. Evaluate the Health of Your Storage DeviceAs we explained earlier, error code 50 often happens when a storage device is in poor shape, specifically when it’s nearing or has exceeded its lifespan. Imagine running a marathon with worn-out sneakers; it’s going to cause problems, right? It’s the same with a storage device that’s been storing and retrieving your data for years.
The good news is that macOS can tell you how well your storage device is feeling, thanks to Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.), an automated self-test system for Solid-State Drives (SSDs) and Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). Follow these steps to check the S.M.A.R.T. status of your storage device on Mac:
Launch Disk Utility as explained in the above method.
Open the “View” menu and select the “Show All Devices” option.
Select the storage device whose S.M.A.R.T. status you want to check. Make sure to select the physical storage device and not a volume group.
Scroll all the way down in the info window until you see the “S.M.A.R.T. status” field.
Good to know: most modern Macs feature SSDs for faster and more reliable storage. However, some older Macs, including MacBook Pro laptops, use HDDs and may be more prone to error code 50. To learn more, discover the differences between MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in 2023.
6. Kill Relevant Background ProcessesSometimes a process can interfere with file operations, causing error code 50 to appear. In such situations, the solution is straightforward: find the troublesome process and kill it, which is how computer geeks refer to terminating or stopping a process. Sound complicated? It isn’t! You just need to learn a couple of simple console commands:
Remember the name of the process and the number right after it – that’s its process ID (PID). In our case, the number to remember is 84476.
Use the kill command as administrator to terminate the identified process: sudo kill -9 "process_id". Be sure to replace “process_id” with the actual PID that you identified in the previous step.
Run the “lsof” command described in Step #2 again. If you don’t see any output, it means the file isn’t used by any process, and you have successfully terminated the problematic process.
Tip: working on a Linux-based machine? Discover the most useful Linux commands for new users, including commands that will help you identify directories and diagnose unexpected system errors.
7. Rename or Remove Problematic FilesError code 50 can also appear when you’re dealing with a file or folder with a peculiar name or a special symbol that your system can’t quite make sense of. If you’ve tried all the previous methods, and they didn’t help, renaming or removing the problematic file as administrator may be your best bet. Again, the Terminal app is your friend in these situations and the following steps:
Navigate to the folder where the problematic file is located using the “cd” command, such as by typing “cd Documents,” then hit return.
Use the “mv” command as administrator to rename the file: sudo mv oldfilename newfilename. Be sure to replace “oldfilename” and “newfilename” with the actual names of the files you are manipulating.
If renaming the file doesn’t cut it, delete it using the “rm” command: sudo rm filename. Be sure to replace “filename” with the actual name of your file.
You can repeat the steps above to deal with all other files that you suspect may be triggering error code 50 on your Mac.

Frequently Asked Questions If error code 50 keeps appearing despite multiple troubleshooting attempts, could it be a symptom of a more serious hardware issue?Possibly. If error code 50 keeps appearing again and again, then your hard drive could be failing. If you suspect this may be the case, we recommend taking your Mac to the nearest Apple Store.
How does the age or overall health of my Mac’s hard drive affect the likelihood of experiencing error code 50?The age and overall health of your Mac’s hard drive can significantly impact the likelihood of encountering error code 50. All hard drives have a limited lifespan as mechanical parts wear down and sectors become bad.
Is there any third-party software tool that solves error code 50?There is no third-party software tool that’s guaranteed to fix error code 50. Instead of spending (and potentially wasting) your money, we recommend you focus on the tools included with the Mac operating system.
