Suggested January 2024 Blocking Emails Automatically In Gmail
In the 21st century, email has become a necessary evil. It’s used for everything from professional correspondence, to keeping in touch with friends and family members. You can use it to send files of all kinds, receive messages from your online accounts, etc.
The use of email has essentially turned the internet into a global village because, with email, you can easily reach anybody in any part of the world. If you have more than one email account, your inbox will be receiving a lot of mail every day – but there’s a lot of it that you might not even want. As a result, you might be interested in blocking some email addresses, especially if you keep receiving junk mail from them.
How to Block Email Addresses in GmailUnfortunately, many people don’t understand what they’re agreeing to when they trade their email address to receive a gift or download a free PDF. They don’t know that they have indirectly opened up the door to start receiving unwanted emails from that marketer.
Well, you might think you can just unsubscribe from the mailing list to fix it, but you might still be able to receive mail from them, at least until you block their email address.
Gmail account users who are receiving unwanted emails can actually block the email address with a few simple steps in their Gmail account. Blocking an email address in Gmail means that you will not receive mail from that email address in your inbox again. To block someone’s email address in Gmail, you need to do the following:
Using a Computer
You need to sign in into your Gmail account and open the mail sent to your inbox by the sender you want to block.
Then, look at the upper right corner of the mail. You’ll see an icon with three vertical dots.
You will see the name of the sender in front of the block is written in this format ‘’Block (sender’s name).’’
That is it; you have just blocked your inbox from receiving mail from that email address.
Using a SmartphoneThe process is almost the same when using your smartphone. The only difference is the interface that is a little different.
The first step is to open your Gmail App and locate the email from the sender you want to block.
You then open the mail and look at the upper right corner; you will see an icon with three vertical dots.
Now you have successfully blocked that person from sending emails to you. But what if, later on, you want to unblock an email address (someone)? It is so simple – you can follow these steps either on your computer or smartphone.
First, locate the same mail that you used to block the person and open it.
And that’s how to block and unblock people using your Gmail account. If you keep receiving unwanted mail from people you don’t know, and if you don’t do anything about it, your inbox will be filled up with messages in a very short time. Now, you can block these email addresses so that you no longer receive mail from them. This will save you from the stress of deleting tons of junk mail from your inbox every day.

Difference Between Gmail And Gmail Motion
So what can you do with Gmail and Gmail Motion, and how are they different? Well, Gmail is the most popular email platform on the web. It’s used for everything from sending and receiving emails to managing calendars, contacts, tasks, and documents.
Gmail Motion is a technology from Google Labs that allows you to control Gmail using body motions. It works by detecting your skeletal structure with a webcam or other device. This makes it possible to open emails, draft new messages, and search through your inbox all with simple movements of your hands and body.
Gmail Motion is still in its early stages, but it shows a lot of potential as a way to make email more interactive while saving time. For instance, you could quickly open an email with just a few waves of your hand instead of having to type out four or five words. Plus, it could be used for controlling other applications as well.
Read this article to find out more about Gmail and Gmail Motion and how they are different from each other.
What is Gmail?Gmail is a webmail service provided by Google. It’s one of the most popular email service providers in the world, with over 1 billion active users. Gmail lets you create a custom email address, store messages online, and access them from any device.
Users can access Gmail on the web and through mobile apps for Android and iOS, as well as through third-party programs that synchronize email content through POP or IMAP protocols. You can also sync your messages with other Google services, like Drive and Calendar.
Gmail offers users 15 gigabytes of storage for emails and attachments, as well as features such as search, labels, and conversation threading.
What is Gmail Motion?Gmail Motion is a new feature that Google has released that allows you to control Gmail using only your body. You can use simple motions like waving your hand left and right to scroll through your messages or tilting your head up and down to move between different tabs. Gmail Motion uses your web camera and a series of gestures and body movements to interact with your inbox.
To use Gmail Motion, you first need to enable it in the settings menu. Then, you’ll need to calibrate your camera for optimal performance. After that’s done, you just have to get in front of the camera and start moving your body around!
Gmail Motion has a variety of commands that you can use, from opening an email to replying or forwarding it. You can also delete emails with a swift fist pump and create new emails with an extended hand wave. If you’re feeling extra creative, then you can even create your own custom gestures! So if you’re looking for an innovative way to manage your inbox, then look no further than Gmail Motion. It’s a fun and easy way to stay organized while still getting some exercise!
Gmail Motion is an interactive platform that uses gestures to control emails instead of typing them out. This keeps your hands free for multitasking, making it a great option for those who do a lot of work on the computer. Additionally, Gmail Motion can help you stay organized by categorizing emails so they are easier to find.
If you’re looking for an efficient way to send messages quickly and easily, Gmail Motion is the way to go. Using its intuitive interface, you can quickly compose and send emails with just a few simple motions. Plus, it eliminates typing errors which can be time-consuming to correct!
Drawbacks of Gmail MotionWith Gmail Motion, one of the biggest drawbacks is that it requires quite a bit of space to use effectively, so you’re going to need a lot of room. And if you don’t have enough space to use it, then it’s not going to be very useful.
Another potential issue is that the accuracy rate isn’t as good as with traditional typing. With Gmail Motion, you can only reach an accuracy rate of about 80%, whereas the accuracy rate for typing is typically around 90%. So if you need something that’s going to be more accurate than that, Gmail Motion may not be the best solution.
Gmail Motion works best when there are no distractions and your environment is quiet and calm. That may not always be possible in a busy office setting or during a lecture or meeting where noise levels might be high. So if you’re in an environment where distractions are likely, then using traditional typing might be a better option for you.

How To Get To Inbox Zero In Gmail
Have you ever missed an important email because your inbox was full of previous, unanswered messages? Most people have experienced this and almost everyone knows the distraction of fifty unread emails that demand your attention as soon as you open your inbox in the morning.
According to studies, workers spend as much as 28 percent of their week reading and answering emails. That’s more than a quarter of your entire time at work. How much more could you accomplish if you didn’t have to handle a constant barrage of emails?
Table of Contents
What Is Inbox Zero?Inbox Zero is a concept developed by Merlin Mann, an expert on productivity. Although most people interpret the “zero” in the name to refer to the number of emails a person has, it originally referenced how much time people spend thinking about email. If you have zero emails, you spend almost zero time thinking about them.
This article will walk you through how to keep the number of unread emails in your inbox to an absolute minimum using tools available to you within Gmail, as well as practices you can apply to your workday that will help you tame the swarm of emails you receive throughout the day.
Email Management BasicsThe first step to improving your email productivity is to close your inbox. It might sound counterintuitive, but it is better to give yourself set periods of time to read and respond to emails than to address them as they arrive. Research has shown that deadlines, self-imposed or not, improve efficiency and reduce the time spent on a project.
Set aside five minutes at the start of each hour, or maybe twenty minutes at the start and end of the day, to answer emails. Delete any emails that are clearly spam. If an email requires two minutes or less to answer, respond to it first.
If an email will require more time to answer, move it to a specially-designated folder.
Using Gmail to Reach Inbox Zero Use Special Stars Set Up Multiple Inboxes and FiltersA new section appears called Multiple inbox sections. You can name up to five custom sections to view alongside your main inbox, although two are filled in by default. One section is for Starred emails, while the other is for drafts. These sections are designated by their search queries, so you will need to learn what each of the special stars is called in order to set aside sections for them.
These are the names of each star:
Yellow-star
Red-star
Orange-star
Green-star
Blue-star
Purple-star
Yellow-bang (exclamation mark)
Red-bang
Purple-question
Orange-guillemet (fast forward symbol)
Green-check
Blue-info (lower-case i)
The search query field recognizes different operators, so you can use OR/AND commands to include multiple stars within the same section. Beside the Search query field is the Section name field. Enter the specific name you want the field to be called here.
To achieve Inbox Zero, it’s best to set up a few specific sections:
Needs Action/Reply
Needs Urgent Reply
Awaiting Reply
Delegated
You can choose to set up a fifth section according to your needs, but these four will handle the most basic tasks.
Reaching Inbox ZeroNow that you have changed your Gmail settings, it’s time to put everything into action. First, set your filters. Enter the following:
Search querySection namehas: yellow-starNeeds Action/Replyhas: red-starNeeds Urgent Replyhas: blue-infoAwaiting Replyhas: green-checkDelegated
When you receive an email, the first thing you should do is decide whether it requires a response or if you should delete it. If the email is spam or just doesn’t warrant a response, immediately delete it or archive it.
Choose when you want to respond to your email and focus on working only within those times. By giving yourself deadlines and set periods to handle email, you reduce the amount of time you spend in your inbox so that you can focus on more important tasks. If you choose to deal with it at the start of the hour, focus on responding to any urgent emails first, then handle the rest from there.
By putting these methods into practice, you can soon attain total control of your inbox. If it is already a mess, set aside half an hour a day to sort through the emails that you already have and determine whether they are important or not. Respond to those that need it, delete those that don’t.
It might take a bit of time, but filters, designated inboxes, and other tools will help you reach Inbox Zero–and you’ll find what techniques best help you stay there.
How To Automatically Back Up Contacts In Os X
Nearly all of us have experienced a situation in which we have faced a corrupt hard drive, and due to not having any backups, have lost all our data. Good backups are always necessary. In this article we will show how you can use Automator to automate backing up your contacts in OS X.
1. Open up Automator on your Mac. You can do this by searching for it from Spotlight Search or by navigating to your Applications folder and opening Automator.
2. Select a new document if Automator prompts you to do so, and select “Calendar Alarm” in the type of document. This is a type of document that can be triggered by events in your calendar, meaning you can set it to run at specific intervals automatically.
3. From the left-hand “Actions” panel, choose Contacts, and drag “Find Contacts items” into the right-hand pane.
The option that comes up lets us filter which contacts we want to back up. As we’ll be backing up all of our contacts, simply leave the first two options to “people” and “All” as they are. Select “Name” and “is not” for the last two options and enter in “aaa.”
5. Now, from the second list, drag “Export vCards” to the right hand pane, making sure it sits underneath “Find Contacts People” in your workflow. Leave the Export option as it is (also seen in the screenshot below); just choose a custom location where you would like your Contacts to be backed up.
The following window should open up.
Here, in the Repeat section, you can set a regular interval for a regular backup of your contacts.
That’s it! It’s that simple to create an automatic task (workflow) to back up your contacts in OS X at a regular schedule. Although it is a bit lengthy, it’s a one-time setup that can prove to be life-saving in the occasion you have a hard drive failure. For that we recommend selecting a network drive location in the Automator workflow, but it’s entirely upto you.
Similarly, you can also mess around with other Automator options to create other backups. Let us know what you thought of this guide down in the Comments section.

Security Or Firewall Might Be Blocking The Connection
If you cannot connect to the internet or network on your Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC, you may see the message Security or firewall might be blocking the connection when you complete a Windows Network Diagnostics on your device. This post provides the most suitable solutions you can apply to resolve this issue.
Security or Firewall might be blocking the connectionIf you see the message Security or firewall might be blocking the connection following completion of Windows Network Diagnostics to determine what’s causing internet or network connection issues on your device, then our solutions presented below in no particular order should help you resolve the issue on your system.
Run Windows Firewall Troubleshooter
Restore or Reset the Windows Firewall to default settings
Temporarily disable third-party security software (if applicable)
Run Network Troubleshooter
Update Killer Network Manager driver (if applicable)
Perform System Restore
Let’s look at the description of the process as it relates to each of the listed solutions.
1] Run Windows Firewall TroubleshooterTo begin troubleshooting the Security or Firewall might be blocking the connection issue on your Windows 11/10 computer, you can run the Windows Firewall Troubleshooter and see if that helps. The Windows Firewall Troubleshooter is a diagcab file and the official Firewall troubleshooter from Microsoft. When you run the troubleshooter, you’ll be taken through step-by-step as the app looks for problems. If a problem is found, it will be explained, and you can choose to repair or exit. To run the troubleshooter, follow these steps:
Download the diagcab file.
Follow the steps in the Windows Firewall Troubleshooter.
The automated troubleshooter fixes:
Windows Firewall isn’t the default firewall.
Windows Firewall doesn’t start.
Windows couldn’t start Windows Firewall (Service-specific error 5 (0x5)).
Remote Assistance isn’t working because it’s blocked by Windows Firewall.
You’re unable to access shared files and printers because sharing is blocked by Windows Firewall.
BFE service is missing.
Firewall won’t start (Error Code 80070424).
If you’re not on the computer that has the problem, save the troubleshooter to a flash drive, and then run it on the computer that has the problem.

2] Restore or Reset the Windows Firewall to default settingsIf your Windows 11/10 computer is blocking connections as it is in this case, the Windows Firewall may be preventing the connections from getting through. The first thing you should do if you suspect a firewall problem is to restart your computer and your network/internet device (including your DSL or cable modem). If the issue persists, you can test to see if the problem is the Windows Firewall by temporarily turning off the Windows Firewall to see if it’s causing the problem. After you test the connection, turn on the Windows Firewall to make sure your computer is protected.
If this test solved the problem, that means that Windows Firewall is blocking the connections. If so, it may help to restore or reset the Windows Firewall to default settings and then restart your PC and see if that helps. This is only the case if you have added custom firewall rules to allow certain programs that would have normally been blocked, which is rare. If you have added custom rules, you may not want to perform this task. During this process which will remove any erroneous firewall rules that are blocking legitimate connections, Windows will notify you that restoring the default firewall settings may cause some programs to stop working. To reset the Windows Firewall, follow these steps:
Press the Windows key + R to invoke the Run dialog.
In the Run dialog box, type control and hit Enter to open Control Panel.
Exit Control Panel when done.

3] Temporarily disable third-party security software (if applicable)On your Windows 11/10 computer, outgoing/incoming connections can be affected by the presence of a firewall or antivirus software (especially from third-party vendors) on the local computer or network connection. As you can see in this our case, the Windows Network Diagnostics identified the Malwarebytes Web Access Controller (MWAC) Filter which is what Malwarebytes uses for the Web Protection component in Malwarebytes (bad website blocking) that relies on the Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) APIs in modern versions of Microsoft Windows which is the same infrastructure/APIs used for the built-in Windows Firewall in newer versions of the Windows OS. Disabling the Web Protection component in MBAM worked for affected users, although this is more of a workaround than an actual solution.

5] Update Killer Network Manager driver (if applicable)The Killer Network Manager, previously known as the Killer Control Centre, is a tool from chúng tôi that helps prioritize the network bandwidth to applications or processes that require faster internet connections. Essentially, the tool is a network management suite developed by Killer Networking for Killer network adapter users.
Some affected PC users reported they were able to resolve the issue by simply updating the Killer Network Manager driver. If this applies to you, you can update the Killer network adapter driver via Device Manager or visit the network adapter manufacturer’s website.

6] Perform System RestoreIf the issue in the highlight persists after you have exhausted all other suggestions provided in this post, you can follow the steps below to restore your system to an earlier point in time when you weren’t having any sort of network or internet issues on your Windows 11/10 device.
Press the Windows key + R. to invoke the Run dialog.
In the Run dialog box, type rstrui and hit Enter to launch the System Restore Wizard.
At the next screen, check the box associated with Show more restore points.
Now, select a restore point before when you noticed the issue on your device.
At the next system startup, your older computer state will be enforced. The issue at hand should be resolved now. If not, you can reset the PC.
