Suggested April 2024 Dhinakg Releases Dahlia, A Useful Delayota Helper For Jailbroken Devices

The DelayOTA method of upgrading to unsigned firmware became popular starting with iOS & iPadOS 15, especially given the fact that the Odyssey Team’s upcoming Cheyote jailbreak for iOS & iPadOS 15 wouldn’t support any version newer than 15.1.1.

The popular method for upgrading to upgrading to unsigned firmware hasn’t gone anywhere; but given the lack of jailbreak news for iOS & iPadOS 15.2 or later, it isn’t something you hear much about anymore. Still, that hasn’t stopped DelayOTA pioneer Dhinakg from releasing a new utility for jailbroken devices called Dahlia that makes using DelayOTA even easier.

Dahlia is an on-device user interface for preparing to use the DelayOTA unsigned firmware upgrade method on jailbroken iPhones that supports both supervised mode and unsupervised mode. While the supervised mode works just as you’d expect, the unsupervised mode uses a Dallas profile instead – Dallas is a separate jailbreak tweak by Dhinakg that allows for OTA server redirection.

As you’ll see from the screenshot examples above, the tweak displays whether or not you’ve installed the Dallas Enabler, if you have a Dallas profile installed, and what firmware you’re currently ready to update to. In our case, we have a device running iOS 14.8 and installed the iOS 15.4.1 Dallas profile, so the Dallas method allows us to use the built-in over the air (OTA) Software Update function to install iOS 15.4.1.

Citing the /r/jailbreak release thread for Dahlia, Dallas is now considered a legacy jailbreak tweak and may soon be removed in place of the newer Dahlia jailbreak tweak. Dahlia includes useful helper that can guide you through the process, especially when things appear to go wrong while attempting to use DelayOTA.

Here are some notes to get started per the /r/jailbreak thread:

Usage

You can find a full-fledged guide on delayed OTAs over at ios.cfw.guide, but here are some basic steps. Highly recommend following the guide.

Remove any beta profiles you have installed.

Install OTAEnabler and Dahlia from your favorite package manager.

Reboot and re-jailbreak your device.

Install the correct profiles.

For the normal method (X-day delay):

Turn on supervision if not on already

Download and install the profile for your intended target version

For the Dallas method:

Download and install Dallas Enabler first

The Dallas version profile will fail to install if you don’t do this first

Go back and install the profile for your target version

Enable supervision or supervision-less (if not already enabled)

Restore rootFS and proceed with update

Known Issues

• UI is a little buggy on small devices

If you’re interested in trying Dhinakg’s new Dahlia jailbreak tweak and seeing what it’s all about, then you can acquire it for free from Dhinakg’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. Don’t forget to also add Cadoth’s repository, linked above, to install an important dependency.

Please note that if you’re already waiting on iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1, then you should stay where you are and avoid updating at this time, as the Odyssey Team’s upcoming Cheyote jailbreak will be available soon. We repeat, do not defer from waiting on a potentially jailbreakable firmware, or you may lose your opportunity to jailbreak iOS or iPadOS 15. This method is only for those who are unable to install iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1. We do not recommend updating from an existing jailbreak, however the choice is always yours to make.

Those who aren’t already using Dhinakg’s personal repository can add it to their package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:

The neater, safer, and smarter way is to organize all your gadgets in one of these top charging stations for multiple devices.

Also helpful: recharge on the road with these high-capacity power banks with a battery over 20,000mAh.

Cons

No option to include Android cables

The more devices you connect, the slower they charge

Frequently Asked Questions What technology do charging stations use?

Two wireless charging standards exist, but the Qi format is most commonly used in multiple-device charging stations. Apple and most Android devices support Qi charging.

Do charging stations require a power source?

Yes. Charging stations don’t have internal batteries and need to be connected to an external power source to function. This is generally a USB cable connected to the station on one end and a wall socket or travel adapter on the other.

How does a charging station differ from a power bank?

The charging stations on this list all require electricity to charge devices, whereas power banks include batteries and pull energy from them to charge devices. Also, power banks often take longer to charge devices than charging stations do.

Wunderlist 3 Releases, Adding Real

After previewing its major version 3.0 update earlier this month, 6Wunderkinder has now released the refreshed Wunderlist 3, the latest version of the popular cross-platform to-do, task and list management app.

With 60+ new features across iOS, Android, Chromebooks, Mac and on the web, Wunderlist 3 is a huge release for the Berlin, Germany-based company. Two standout new features deserve a mention: an all-new real-time syncing engine and public lists…

This is the new app icon.

The first thing you’ll notice about Wunderlist 3 is its all-new look, revamped from the ground up for maximum impact and minimal clutter.

All unnecessary visuals have been removed to create a design that still feels like Wunderlist, only simpler and lighter.

When you first get Wunderlist 3 in your hands, it will simply feel faster. We’ve designed a beautiful new interface to make every interaction more fluid and intuitive than ever before.

In fact, the new interface is the combined result of our design and engineering teams relentlessly improving every button, flow and animation.

This marks a new design direction for 6Wunderkinder that lets them scale Wunderlist to almost any sized device, now and into the future.

Check out Wunderlist’s new look below.

The app was designed to be “home to the world’s lists,” 6Wunderkinder founder and CEO Christian Reber said.

“People have all sorts of lists like movie lists, check lists, shopping lists and wish lists,” he told TechCrunch. “They create those lists in Wunderlist and collaborate with people on it.”

Public lists in Wunderlist 3 make it easy create, discover and share lists with other users and the web at large. After your list is public, you can share it through social media with your friends and contacts on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, or get an embed code to use in blog posts.

Check out public lists in Wunderlist 3.

And another one.

Even better, the app can search for popular how-tos and other topics and save those lists to your own Wunderlist account, with a little help from a new ‘Add to Wunderlist’ button.

In addition to public lists and a thoroughly revamped appearance across all platforms, Wunderlist 3 introduces a much improved, lightweight and a lot faster syncing engine.

Whereas previously the app could only refresh items every fifteen minutes, syncing now occurs in real-time so any change you make on one device instantly gets reflected on all your others. In turn, teams can now collaborate on lists in real-time.

Here’s real-time sync in action.

Benedikt Lehnert, the company’s chief designer, said:

Everything you do in Wunderlist with your team or as an individual happens in real time. We compared a lot of services and there are only a handful that we see as being on the same level in terms of complexity and ability to scale and be super fast.

Last but not least, developers are planning on releasing a Wunderlist API to integrate with other productivity apps such as Dropbox, Evernote and many others.

Wunderlist’s user base now stands at over 8 million, by the way. Back in November, 6Wunderkinder received a $19 million Series B funding round led by the reputable investment firm Sequoia Capital.

To learn more about Wunderlist 3, check out the team’s blog post.

The app is currently being rolled so it may not show up in your local app store yet. Wunderlist is a free download from the App Store and Mac App Store.

You can also grab Wunderlist 3 for a platform of your choosing from 6Wunderkinder’s download page.

Twrp Recovery V2.8.7.0 For Android One Sprout Devices!

The latest TWRP recovery v2.8.7.0 is now available for Android One devices, whose codename is Sprout. TWRP team introduced some really good features with the version 2.8.7.0, including recovery’s ability to detect a completely unmodified system, and allows you to mount the system as Read-only. This is helpful, as you can create a backup of stock system now, completely in unmodified form, and restore it later on to make your device compatible with OTA updates.

You need to unlock your Android One device in order to to be able to install TWRP recovery. If you haven’t already, then don’t worry as we have covered that in our guide below.

With TWRP, you can easily root your Android One device. All you need to do to root is flash the SuperSU file using TWRP, and that would be it.

How to Install TWRP Recovery on Android One

→ If you have a CWM/TWRP recovery currently installed on your Android One (Sprout) device, you can simply flash the above zip from that recovery, and the latest TWRP v2.8.7.0 will be installed on your device. In this case, don’t follow the guide below.

Supported devices

Android One devices, code name SPROUT

Don’t try this one any other device!

Warning: Warranty may be void of your device if you follow the procedures given on this page. You only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components.

Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files.

Install ADB and Fastboot drivers.

On your device, enable USB debugging. For this:

Go back to Settings, then choose ‘Developer options’. Find the ‘USB debugging’ option and use its toggle button to enable it. Accept warning by tapping on OK button.

If you don’t get this, it means drivers aren’t installed properly. So, search for and install the drivers of your device manufacturer. Here are drivers for Micromax Android One device. Keep the device connected to PC.

Download the TWRP recovery file (TWRP-2.8.7.0_Sprout-M8.zip) from above.

Extract the zip file to get chúng tôi file.

Now, open command window in the folder in which you have the chúng tôi file. For this:

You will see a command window open up, with location directed to folder where you have the TWRP’s chúng tôi file.

With device connected to PC, boot your device into bootloader mode. For this, run the following command. (You can copy paste the command, and then hit enter key to run it.) adb reboot bootloader

Test whether fastboot is working alright. In the command window by running the following command. fastboot devices

→ Upon this, you should get a serial no. with fastboot written after it. If you don’t get fastboot written on cmd window, then it means you need to reinstall adb and fastboot drivers, or change restart PC, or use original USB cable.

If your device is not bootloader locked, then do this to unlock bootloader of it. Skip this step if shows unlocked at the bottom of bootloader mode screen.

Run the following command first. fastboot oem unlock

Now, look at device’s screen, and press Volume up button to choose Yes. (Upon doing this, your device’s all apps and data will be deleted.)

Flash TWRP recovery v2.8.7.0 now. Use the following command for that. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

When done simply reboot your device using the following command. fastboot reboot

If you wish to check out the new TWRP recovery, v2.8.7.0, then with device connected to PC, run the following command. adb reboot recovery

[Optional] You will see TWRP recovery, v2.8.7.0.  Now, you should create a full backup of your phone, including system partition. In TWRP, tap on Backup, and then select all partitions. Then do the swipe action at bottom to start the backup process. When done, restart your device.

Have fun flashing custom ROMs, creating nandroid backup, etc. stuff. You can use TWRP recovery to transfer files too, just keep that USB debugging option enabled, as we did in the step no. 3 above.

In case you flash something wrong on your device, and it hangs on boot logo or animation, resulting into bootloop, then you use TWRP recovery to set things right. Just download any custom ROM for your device, and after rebooting to TWRP, transfer it to your device. Then use Install option in recovery to flash the ROM. This will install a working ROM fully, and make your device reboot properly.

Happy flashing!
