When a lot of people work on multiple PowerPoint presentations and then need to merge them in the end, it becomes challenging. The primary reason is the formating. If the teams are not in sync with each other, it will become a painful job to bring them to the same format.

Microsoft PowerPoint offers an in-house solution just like Word and Excel, which will allow you to merge multiple PowerPoint presentations, and still keep the formatting intact. The right way to do this is to ask everyone to use the same theme. Make sure to set up the PowerPoint Theme in one file, and then share it with everyone.

How to Merge Multiple PowerPoint Presentations

We have three ways to merge multiple PowerPoint files. While the first one is good when you have fewer numbers, and preserving the formatting is the primary goal. The second can combine any number of files available in a folder.

1] Reuse Slides Method

Microsoft PowerPoint offers an inbuilt tool— Reuse Slides. It allows you to import single or multiple slides to your presentation from another, without having to open the other file. When you use this option, make sure to choose the option for formatting, especially if you want to have the same theme as the source file.

Open a new Powerpoint file or existing one where you want to merge the slides.

Select the slide after which you want to insert the slides from the source file.

It will reveal all the sides available on that slide.

If you want to keep the format exactly as the source slide, check the box which says, “Keep source formatting.”

Any slide you add here is a copy. The source file remains intact, and no changes will be made to it. Any change you make in the merged document will not become available in the original file.

One of the best parts of importing using this method is that it will keep all animations or transitions. It wasn’t the case earlier, and one had to use the Object method, followed by multiple configurations to make it work. Object Method is only useful if you want to pack multiple files into one.

2] VBA Code Method

Since there is no native method to merge numerous PowerPoint Presentations, we will have to use a VBA code, just like how we did to merge Excel files. It is straight forward and works better compared to the VBA code we used for Excel. The code worked fine for me well, and I was able to merge 3 PowerPoint files worth 60 slides.

In the new or existing PowerPoint file where you want to merge all the presentations, press ALT + F11

3. How to Reduce the Size of a PowerPoint

Select the text you want to convert into a graphic.

On the Home tab, select Convert to SmartArt.

If you’d like a SmartArt option that allows you to add pictures, select More SmartArt Graphics. 

In the menu on the left, select Picture.

Select the option you like best.

To add an image, select an image icon in a SmartArt element and choose whether to insert an image from a file on your computer or from an online source like Bing.

The SmartArt gallery has dozens of options to choose from. One of them is bound to make your slide more engaging.

9. Align Your Objects

You’ve used the Format Painter to ensure your formatting is consistent throughout your presentation. While you’re at it, make sure all your objects are perfectly aligned using PowerPoint’s Align tool.

Select the objects you want to align by holding down Shift as you select each object.

In the Format tab, select Align. 

Choose how you want the selected object to align.

To distribute three or more objects evenly, select the objects, and then select Align and either Distribute Horizontally or Distribute Vertically.

How To Connect Multiple Monitors (Step

Whether you’re an avid gamer seeking a better visual experience or a software developer trying to run numerous applications, you’ve probably wanted a multi-monitor setup. But hooking them up can be much more complex than connecting a single display. 

You’ll need to check the devices’ compatibility, adopt a feasible method to join monitors, adjust their position, and tweak projection settings. Regarding the same, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you connect multiple monitors.

Check total no. of ports available

It’s essential to check the compatibility before determining the number of screens you can hook up. Connecting dual monitors is much easier and more feasible than a triple, quad, or more.

While there’s no limit to the number of screens you can hook up, you should consider the number of ports available on your mainboard and graphics cards. For example, some motherboards can come with one or even more monitor ports, depending on the iGPU and the manufacturer.

Also, if you plan to connect in a daisy-chain fashion, note that you require monitors with both input and output DisplayPort 1.2 or Thunderbolt ports. Additionally, these interfaces should support the MST (Multi-Stream Transport) feature.

For using a wireless connection, you require a Miracast-compatible monitor. Along with that, your computer should support Wi-Fi. If nothing works for you, kindly use a wireless transmitter and receiver kit to cast or extend your display.

Although motherboards have integrated graphics as a part of the unit, most users prefer adding a discrete GPU to their setup. This way, ports on both graphics cards can be utilized for connecting multiple monitors. However, they will likely not work unless you enable the multi-display setting in BIOS.

Below is a quick demonstration of how to turn on Intel’s IGD Multi-Monitor setting on an MSI motherboard:

First, connect your computer to any monitor and start the system.

Adjusting the monitors in the correct position helps maintain ergonomics. While arranging the screens entirely depends on your comfort, we highly recommend keeping the primary monitor in the center.

In a dual-monitor setup, you should prefer keeping the primary screen in front of you. Then, place the other display on its adjacent right or left. For a better understanding, have a look at the figure below on how we have set up dual monitors.

Similarly, in a triple-monitor setup, you can place the primary display in the center with the other two to its adjacent left and right. While this setting is excellent, the best ergonomic option would be slightly tilting the screens towards you, as demonstrated in the figure. Note that this requires a slightly bigger desk space.

While regular users are happy with dual or triple monitor setups, four or more monitors can benefit those seeking a tremendous amount of screen space. Additional Tip: One difficulty we all face when connecting multiple displays is the need for more desk space. To solve this, try mounting your monitors, which lets you adjust the angle, height, and position quite easily. In fact, you can mount as many monitors as you want if you have the appropriate VESA mount adapters.

Once you’ve appropriately arranged the monitors, it’s time to hook them up. There are different techniques to do it, and this section guides you through each of them in detail.

This is probably the best and most reliable method of connecting multiple monitors. All you require are adequate ports on the motherboard or graphics card.

Before moving forward, decide the type of monitor connection you’re going to use. This could be HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, DVI, USB-C, or any other of your choice. Interestingly, you can even use a different interface for each connection.

For demonstration purposes, we have relied on HDMI and DisplayPort in this article. Nonetheless, the steps for other interfaces should also be similar:

Next, gather the required number of data cables as per your need. While you’re at it, we recommend using shorter ones as this cuts down the chances of interference.

Then, plug the HDMI or DisplayPort cable into one of the output ports of the motherboard or graphics card. For demonstration, we’ve used an HDMI interface.

Now, plug the other end into the secondary monitor.

Repeat the process for all the other monitors on your setup.

Another useful method to set up multiple monitors is daisy chaining. It simply means hooking up the displays to one another sequentially. This helps keep the cables organized, and you do not have to rely solely on the motherboard or graphics card ports.

In the chain, all your monitors should have DisplayPort or Thunderbolt ports with MST enabled, except for the last one. Once you’ve checked the compatibility, kindly go through the following steps on daisy chaining multiple monitors:

Here, find and select the MST setting, which should be under the System option.

Ensure that it is enabled. You may need to press Yes if a confirmation prompt pops up.

Again, open the OSD menu. This time, find and turn on the Displayport 1.2 option.

Now, plug the dedicated power cables into all your monitors. Ensure that they have sufficient power.

Take a Thunderbolt or DisplayPort cable (prefer using shorter ones) and connect it to the output port on your PC.

Next, take another Thunderbolt or DisplayPort cable and connect it to the output port of the primary display. Join the other end of your secondary monitor’s input port.

Repeat the process for other monitors.

A docking station is an excellent tool that lets you extend the number of ports on your laptop or desktop computer. This can come in handy if your motherboard or graphics card doesn’t have sufficient interfaces to connect multiple monitors.

Similarly, a high-end USB Hub with HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces can also be utilized. An HDMI Splitter is also a popular choice, but this can’t be used for extending your display.

Kindly proceed with the below instructions on how to use a USB Hub or Docking Station for setting up multiple monitors:

First, ensure that all the monitors and the device are getting sufficient power.

Next, plug in each data cable to the device’s output port.

Finally, start your PC to confirm that the monitors are connected successfully.

If your monitor supports Mircast, you do not have to worry about cables and ports. Instead, you can easily set up a dual monitor system using a wireless connection. This technique is extremely popular among laptop users who use it as an external display.

However, if you’re planning to use two monitors, you’ll need to set up your primary display first. Once that’s done, follow the below guide to connect another monitor wirelessly:

Press Windows + I to open the Settings app and navigate to the Apps section.

Now, choose the Bluetooth & devices tab from the left part of the window.

Wait until your computer finds the secondary monitor. If found, select the device, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.

The other menu options are the standard Edit Home Screen and Remove App that you will find when you press on any iPad app icon. Now, except for New Private Tab, most of these are not particularly interesting or useful if you don’t already have a Safari window open – you could just tap on the icon to open a new window. Let’s see what happens when we have previously opened a Safari window, and we press on the Safari icon:

So, the main difference you can see is that there is a new option, Show All Windows. However, now that you have a Safari window open, some of the options have a different effect, so we’ll go through all of them:

New Tab – Tapping on this will open a new tab in your previously opened Safari window.

New Private Tab – Tapping on this will open a Private window – unless you had previously opened a private window, in which case this just opens a new tab in that window.

Show Bookmarks – Opens your Bookmarks on the left side of your Safari window.

Show Reading List – Opens your Reading List on the left side of your Safari window.

Show All Windows – This is the one that will allow you to open a new Safari window; I don’t know why there isn’t an option called “Open New Window” – but there isn’t.

Now, from start to finish, here’s how to open a new Safari window when you already have one open.

Assuming you have previously opened a Safari window. If necessary, swipe that Safari window out of your way so that you can see your Safari app icon. Press on the icon.

In the menu that appears, tap on Show All Windows.

You will see all of your open Safari windows. From this screen you can:

Swipe up to close a window.

Tap on a window to open it.

Tap on Reopen Closed Window to open up the last Safari window you closed.

Open a new window – tap on the little plus sign inside a circle that you see in the upper-right corner of your screen.

As a Windows user, you may often need to run multiple instances of a program. These should be able to operate separately, and if needed, under different accounts. There are a few ways you can run another instance of the same application. The following guide illustrates a few of these methods with an attempt to explain which would be preferable for a specific kind of program.

1. Just Relaunch the Program
