Suggested April 2024 How To Combine Multiple Powerpoint Presentations
When a lot of people work on multiple PowerPoint presentations and then need to merge them in the end, it becomes challenging. The primary reason is the formating. If the teams are not in sync with each other, it will become a painful job to bring them to the same format.
Microsoft PowerPoint offers an in-house solution just like Word and Excel, which will allow you to merge multiple PowerPoint presentations, and still keep the formatting intact. The right way to do this is to ask everyone to use the same theme. Make sure to set up the PowerPoint Theme in one file, and then share it with everyone. How to Merge Multiple PowerPoint Presentations
We have three ways to merge multiple PowerPoint files. While the first one is good when you have fewer numbers, and preserving the formatting is the primary goal. The second can combine any number of files available in a folder.
Reuse Slides Method
VBA Code Method
Copy Paste Slides.1] Reuse Slides Method
Microsoft PowerPoint offers an inbuilt tool— Reuse Slides. It allows you to import single or multiple slides to your presentation from another, without having to open the other file. When you use this option, make sure to choose the option for formatting, especially if you want to have the same theme as the source file.
Open a new Powerpoint file or existing one where you want to merge the slides.
Select the slide after which you want to insert the slides from the source file.
It will reveal all the sides available on that slide.
If you want to keep the format exactly as the source slide, check the box which says, “Keep source formatting.”
Any slide you add here is a copy. The source file remains intact, and no changes will be made to it. Any change you make in the merged document will not become available in the original file.
One of the best parts of importing using this method is that it will keep all animations or transitions. It wasn’t the case earlier, and one had to use the Object method, followed by multiple configurations to make it work. Object Method is only useful if you want to pack multiple files into one.2] VBA Code Method
Since there is no native method to merge numerous PowerPoint Presentations, we will have to use a VBA code, just like how we did to merge Excel files. It is straight forward and works better compared to the VBA code we used for Excel. The code worked fine for me well, and I was able to merge 3 PowerPoint files worth 60 slides.
In the new or existing PowerPoint file where you want to merge all the presentations, press ALT + F11Sub InsertAllSlides() ' Insert all slides from all presentations in the same folder as this one ' INTO this one; do not attempt to insert THIS file into itself, though. Dim vArray() As String Dim x As Long ' Change "*.PPT" to "*.PPTX" or whatever if necessary: EnumerateFiles chúng tôi & "C:PathtoSlidesYouWanttoImport", "*.PPT", vArray With ActivePresentation For x = 1 To UBound(vArray) .Slides.InsertFromFile vArray(x), .Slides.Count End If Next End With End Sub Sub EnumerateFiles(ByVal sDirectory As String, _ ByVal sFileSpec As String, _ ByRef vArray As Variant) ' collect all files matching the file spec into vArray, an array of strings Dim sTemp As String ReDim vArray(1 To 1) sTemp = Dir$(sDirectory & sFileSpec) ' NOT the "mother ship" ... current presentation ReDim Preserve vArray(1 To UBound(vArray) + 1) vArray(UBound(vArray)) = sDirectory & sTemp End If sTemp = Dir$ Loop End Sub
Make the changes that I have marked as bold.
Press F5, and it will execute the code3] Copy Paste Slides
I hope all these methods were easy to follow, and you were able to merge multiple PowerPoint files.
Make sure to choose between the number of files to merge and the Theme of the slide as per your need.

Select the OK button.
To add an image, select an image icon in a SmartArt element and choose whether to insert an image from a file on your computer or from an online source like Bing.
The SmartArt gallery has dozens of options to choose from. One of them is bound to make your slide more engaging.9. Align Your Objects
You’ve used the Format Painter to ensure your formatting is consistent throughout your presentation. While you’re at it, make sure all your objects are perfectly aligned using PowerPoint’s Align tool.
Select the objects you want to align by holding down Shift as you select each object.
In the Format tab, select Align.
Choose how you want the selected object to align.
To distribute three or more objects evenly, select the objects, and then select Align and either Distribute Horizontally or Distribute Vertically.
Being intentional about how objects on your slides are aligned goes a long way to making a professional-looking presentation.10. How to Use Picture Layout
When you’re working with a slide with one or more images, try using PowerPoint’s built-in Picture Layout tool. It’s SmartArt for images.
Mouse over the options to find the Picture Layout you like best, and select it.11. Be Sparing with the Slide Transitions
Once you discover that you can add animations between slides, you might be tempted to try them all. However, you should remember the cardinal rule of PowerPoint presentations: less is more. If you absolutely must use a transition, stick to the simple ones like Cut and Fade.
Select a slide.
From the Transitions tab, select a transition.
Select Effect Options if it’s available to choose additional settings for the transition.
Select Preview to see the transition in action.12. Use Animations Wisely
While you’re toning down your slide transitions, make sure you’re using animations judiciously, too. Animating text or objects on a slide can help the flow of your presentation, but too many animations can be distracting. Be discerning about when and where you use them.
To add animations and effects:
Select the text or object you want to animate.
On the Animations tab, select an animation.
Next, select Effect Options to choose an effect. Note, the Effect Options will be different depending on which animation you have selected.
You can select different ways to start the animations. In the Timing section of the Animations tab, choose when to start the animation.
To change the order your animations play:
Select an animation marker on a slide (or toggle on the Animation Pane by selecting it in the Advanced Animation section of the Animation tab and select an animation in the list.)
In the Timing section of the Animation tab, select either Move Earlier or Move Later.
To add an animation to a group of objects:
If you use them the right way, animations can make your presentation clearer and easier for viewers to understand.13. K.I.S.S.
PowerPoint slides are most effective when they’re simple. When you include only the most important information on your slides, you make it easier for people to digest and remember your message. You can always say more about the topic, but don’t pack the slide with more content than you need. After all, your audience should be listening more than reading.14. Seek Out High Quality Templates, Images, and Graphics
When you keep it simple, that means using images and graphics that look good. We’ve rounded up some great stock photo sites and places to get beautiful PowerPoint templates.15. Export the Presentation as a Video
When you’re happy with your presentation, export it as a video:
Choose Create a video.
Select the quality of the video and whether to use recorded timings and narrations.
Set the duration of each slide.
Select the Create Video button.
Navigate to the folder where you want to save the video file.
Select the Save button.
By implementing these tips and tricks, you’ll take your presentations to the next level!
However, perhaps despite all the tips and tricks you’ve learned, you’ve decided to swear off the software entirely. So many PowerPoint presentations have put audience members to sleep that we now have a term for it: “death by PowerPoint.” In that case, say goodbye to Powerpoint, and check out these seven alternatives to PowerPoint that you can use online.
Whether you’re an avid gamer seeking a better visual experience or a software developer trying to run numerous applications, you’ve probably wanted a multi-monitor setup. But hooking them up can be much more complex than connecting a single display.
You’ll need to check the devices’ compatibility, adopt a feasible method to join monitors, adjust their position, and tweak projection settings. Regarding the same, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you connect multiple monitors.
Check total no. of ports available
It’s essential to check the compatibility before determining the number of screens you can hook up. Connecting dual monitors is much easier and more feasible than a triple, quad, or more.
While there’s no limit to the number of screens you can hook up, you should consider the number of ports available on your mainboard and graphics cards. For example, some motherboards can come with one or even more monitor ports, depending on the iGPU and the manufacturer.
Also, if you plan to connect in a daisy-chain fashion, note that you require monitors with both input and output DisplayPort 1.2 or Thunderbolt ports. Additionally, these interfaces should support the MST (Multi-Stream Transport) feature.
For using a wireless connection, you require a Miracast-compatible monitor. Along with that, your computer should support Wi-Fi. If nothing works for you, kindly use a wireless transmitter and receiver kit to cast or extend your display.
Although motherboards have integrated graphics as a part of the unit, most users prefer adding a discrete GPU to their setup. This way, ports on both graphics cards can be utilized for connecting multiple monitors. However, they will likely not work unless you enable the multi-display setting in BIOS.
Below is a quick demonstration of how to turn on Intel’s IGD Multi-Monitor setting on an MSI motherboard:
First, connect your computer to any monitor and start the system.
Adjusting the monitors in the correct position helps maintain ergonomics. While arranging the screens entirely depends on your comfort, we highly recommend keeping the primary monitor in the center.
In a dual-monitor setup, you should prefer keeping the primary screen in front of you. Then, place the other display on its adjacent right or left. For a better understanding, have a look at the figure below on how we have set up dual monitors.
Positioning dual monitors
Similarly, in a triple-monitor setup, you can place the primary display in the center with the other two to its adjacent left and right. While this setting is excellent, the best ergonomic option would be slightly tilting the screens towards you, as demonstrated in the figure. Note that this requires a slightly bigger desk space.
Positioning triple monitors
While regular users are happy with dual or triple monitor setups, four or more monitors can benefit those seeking a tremendous amount of screen space. To learn more, here’s a detailed guide to positioning and connecting four monitors for a quad setup. You can join even five or more screens in a similar way.
Additional Tip: One difficulty we all face when connecting multiple displays is the need for more desk space. To solve this, try mounting your monitors, which lets you adjust the angle, height, and position quite easily. In fact, you can mount as many monitors as you want if you have the appropriate VESA mount adapters.
Once you’ve appropriately arranged the monitors, it’s time to hook them up. There are different techniques to do it, and this section guides you through each of them in detail.
This is probably the best and most reliable method of connecting multiple monitors. All you require are adequate ports on the motherboard or graphics card.
Before moving forward, decide the type of monitor connection you’re going to use. This could be HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, DVI, USB-C, or any other of your choice. Interestingly, you can even use a different interface for each connection.
For demonstration purposes, we have relied on HDMI and DisplayPort in this article. Nonetheless, the steps for other interfaces should also be similar:
Next, gather the required number of data cables as per your need. While you’re at it, we recommend using shorter ones as this cuts down the chances of interference.
Then, plug the HDMI or DisplayPort cable into one of the output ports of the motherboard or graphics card. For demonstration, we’ve used an HDMI interface.
Now, plug the other end into the secondary monitor.
Repeat the process for all the other monitors on your setup.
Another useful method to set up multiple monitors is daisy chaining. It simply means hooking up the displays to one another sequentially. This helps keep the cables organized, and you do not have to rely solely on the motherboard or graphics card ports.
In the chain, all your monitors should have DisplayPort or Thunderbolt ports with MST enabled, except for the last one. Once you’ve checked the compatibility, kindly go through the following steps on daisy chaining multiple monitors:
Here, find and select the MST setting, which should be under the System option.
Ensure that it is enabled. You may need to press Yes if a confirmation prompt pops up.
Again, open the OSD menu. This time, find and turn on the Displayport 1.2 option.
Now, plug the dedicated power cables into all your monitors. Ensure that they have sufficient power.
Take a Thunderbolt or DisplayPort cable (prefer using shorter ones) and connect it to the output port on your PC.
Next, take another Thunderbolt or DisplayPort cable and connect it to the output port of the primary display. Join the other end of your secondary monitor’s input port.
Repeat the process for other monitors.
A docking station is an excellent tool that lets you extend the number of ports on your laptop or desktop computer. This can come in handy if your motherboard or graphics card doesn’t have sufficient interfaces to connect multiple monitors.
Similarly, a high-end USB Hub with HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces can also be utilized. An HDMI Splitter is also a popular choice, but this can’t be used for extending your display.
Kindly proceed with the below instructions on how to use a USB Hub or Docking Station for setting up multiple monitors:
First, ensure that all the monitors and the device are getting sufficient power.
Next, plug in each data cable to the device’s output port.
Finally, start your PC to confirm that the monitors are connected successfully.
If your monitor supports Mircast, you do not have to worry about cables and ports. Instead, you can easily set up a dual monitor system using a wireless connection. This technique is extremely popular among laptop users who use it as an external display.
However, if you’re planning to use two monitors, you’ll need to set up your primary display first. Once that’s done, follow the below guide to connect another monitor wirelessly:
Press Windows + I to open the Settings app and navigate to the Apps section.
Now, choose the Bluetooth & devices tab from the left part of the window.
Wait until your computer finds the secondary monitor. If found, select the device, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.
After your monitors are connected, the settings are synced automatically to the last configuration. However, you might want to tweak the projection settings, depending on whether you’re trying to mirror the primary screen’s content or extend the display. Here’s how you can achieve this:
The screen should flash for a second, confirming that your settings have changed.
Note: If you’re using different monitor models, you may need to tweak the refresh rate, screen resolution, and others so that the settings sync well. Else, you might get stuck with the black screen or related display issues.
Effective resume making, job hunting, campus recruitment training & others
You will have to decide what type of career or job you are looking for. You will have to find out what job opportunities are available in the market. What skills and qualifications are crucial for that particular job, and do you fulfill those criteria?
Then you need to develop or update your resume accordingly. Your resume should be short and crisp and should have all the required information, e.g., personal details, qualifications, work experience, details of any awards, certificates, and details about the referee.
After you finish your resume, you start searching for a suitable job. You can search for jobs in local newspapers, apply for them online, sign up with job opportunity websites, and even get help from placement and recruitment agencies. You can talk to your family and friends.
Once you finish the job search, you start applying for them. While doing so, you need to prepare a list of the jobs you are applying for; always attach a cover letter along with the resume. This cover letter should have details about which job you are applying for and how you are suitable for that job.
You get some break in-between applying for a job and receiving a call for an interview. One should utilize this time to prepare and practice for the upcoming interviews. For this you need to consider the questions employers would ask and practice your answers to them. You also need to go through the organization’s profile and website to get an idea about the organization. You can use this knowledge in your interview to impress your prospective employer.
The next step is attending a job interview. When you are called for an interview, always arrive a few minutes early from the scheduled interview time. You should dress neatly and in appropriate clothes. You should have a clear and realistic salary expectation for the job you are applying for. Furthermore, you should also have a ready list of the issues you would like to discuss with the prospective employer, like what would be the job profile, what they expect from you, salary package, and so on.
Once you finish the interviews, you wait for multiple job offers. You have applied for numerous jobs and interviewed for several months. You yearn to get multiple job offers. And one fine day, you get a call for a job offer, and you are excited that you have received multiple job offers and at the same time get confused about whether to accept or not. The situation worsens when you receive a second job offer the same day. It becomes difficult for you to decide which job will provide the best compensation and professional rewards. In such a situation, the job seeker faces numerous doubts and questions:
One is confused about which job to choose. The one which has been asked him to join is better than the current job he is into. But he also wants to see whether there are better multiple jobs offers coming up.
One gets disheartened that the company offering you the job is unwilling to give you much time to decide. You are confused. If you reject this offer, would you get a better job afterward?
One has confusion about which job will have the best future professional growth.
He has confusion about which job he fits best and which would provide him with the best job satisfaction. Why is it important to make the right decision while choosing a job?
Since we spend a lot of time in our workplace, we make strategies to make the work more efficient and profitable, indirectly we are thinking about it consciously and unconsciously. Therefore it plays a significant role in our lives. If we are uninterested in what we do; don’t find the work meaningful and gratifying, we tend to feel frustrated, depressed, and anxious, and our personal life also gets affected. With all the negative feelings, one is unable to make positive efforts, which hampers future success on the work front. Therefore, it is very essential for you to take the right decision while choosing a job, as it directly and indirectly affects your life as a whole. How Do You Choose From Multiple Job Offers
Go back to the research you had done about the company while practicing for the interview. It will provide you with a clear vision of the values and objectives of the company. What do they expect from the person recruited for that particular position? This will help you to decide which job you are more suitable for.
You also need to consider the work environment. When one goes for an interview, one gets a rough idea about the work/office culture and the type of people working there. You need to ask yourself did you like the office culture, whether will you be able to fit in comfortably in such an office environment, and whether you would be able to gel in easily with the people.
Another thing one needs to remember while choosing a job is the perks provided by the company. What type of other benefits does the company provide apart from salary; such as free meals, free pick up and drop facility from home to office and back home, overtime, bonus, incentives, provident fund or EPF facilities, insurance and medical benefits, and so on?
You also need to consider which job would provide you with the most job satisfaction. Which job will you fit in more comfortably, and which job are you more passionate about and would enjoy doing? These factors ascertain how you will grow professionally in the long run.
You can also take certain online aptitude and personality tests. These will help you analyze your capabilities, skills, and personality type. This will further help you decide which job will suit you best.
Before choosing a particular job, one should also consider what management and leadership opportunities each offer provides. The job requiring more responsibility with higher management skills will provide more professional challenges. And skillful handling of these challenges will ensure higher professional success and position.
If you are going for a major career shift then you can consult a career counselor or consultant.
If you still have confusion about which job to accept, you need to go by your Gut Feeling i.e., what your intuition says.
Once you have finally decided which job offer to accept, politely tell the other recruiter that you are not interested in accepting their job offer. Thank them for the time they had given him and let them know that meeting them was a pleasure. Similarly, you get in touch with the recruiter whose job offer you are accepting. Give them thanks for offering you the job; let them know that you are accepting their proposal. You can talk about other things like when to join, the training period and other such queries to the employer.
You need to keep certain things in mind while juggling multiple job offers:
When an employer approaches you with a job offer, they want to know whether you are interested or not and when you can join them. At that point, the best diplomatic answer would be to ask them to provide you few days to decide. But you should not take too long to decide.
Sometimes it happens that when you are considering taking up a job, you receive a call from a company for a second interview interaction. This job may be more satisfying and rewarding than the job you are considering. In such a circumstance, you need to think about why the employer is asking for a second interview. One answer could be that they want to be doubly sure you are the right candidate to fill the vacancy. Another case could be that a person was chosen and appointed, but he was not up to the mark, and they are recruiting again for a suitable candidate. People have varied viewpoints and mindsets; they can take this situation as positive or negative. But if you consider going for the second interview, make it clear to the employer that you have a job offer but would prefer to take up the job they offered. Request them to arrange for a speedy interview and politely ask them whether they can give fast feedback after the interview. If the answers are positive, go for the interview.
If one is going for a job change, discussing certain issues with your current employer is always better before jumping into another job. You can calmly tell him what you desire, e.g., a raise in pay, promotion, incentives and other perks, issues relate to leaves, and so on. Be sure to do it in a calm and polite way. If the employer agrees to the conditions and it suits you, you don’t need to jump over to a new job, but if it does not work out as you desire, you can opt for other jobs.
Once this is done, you wait for multiple job offers. This is the trickiest part of all to handle. As you may get multiple job offers at the same time. You now get confused about which one to accept and which one to reject. Juggling multiple job offers is stressful and confusing. Therefore, it is necessary for one to be very careful in making the right decision. As the decision one makes will affect his career and influence his life as a whole.
One needs to be very calm while making this decision. He should consider all the pros and cons of multiple job offers before reaching a conclusion. Another major aspect he needs to analyze is his own skills, aptitude, and personality. Secondly, he should also analyze which job would provide him with the most work satisfaction and opportunities to grow professionally. His decision should be realistic, and he should not allow emotions to sway him away from the right decision.
Once he firmly decides which job offer to opt for, he should not go back and re-think whether he has made the right decision. This will only lead to further confusion. As you have selected the job after much analysis and thinking, you don’t need to go back and think again. And the last thing to do is, before telling a recruiter whether you are accepting or rejecting a job, you should be firm, confident, and convinced that you have made the right decision.
You may already know that you can use Safari, and many other apps, in Split Screen (Apple calls it Split View) on iPad. As an iPad Safari user, you also surely know about opening new tabs in the same Safari window. However, if you are like me, you may like to have many things open at once, but hate the clutter. Fortunately, for Safari on iPad, you can actually just open up a completely new Safari window – no need to use split screen or anything like that.
In this article, we will explain how to open another Safari window on iPad, and then we’ll also throw in some information on the other window/tab options available for Safari on iPad – such as Split View, opening new tabs, and viewing all open tabs and windows. How to Open an Additional Safari Window on iPad
First, let’s take a look at the menu that pops up when you press (tap and hold briefly) the Safari icon. If you don’t have any Safari windows open currently, you see the following:
So, from here you can see that you can open or show:
New Tab – Tapping on this will just open a Safari window.
New Private Tab – Tapping on this will open a Private window.
Show Bookmarks – Pretty much just opens a Safari window.
Show Reading List – Also, just opens a Safari window.
The other menu options are the standard Edit Home Screen and Remove App that you will find when you press on any iPad app icon. Now, except for New Private Tab, most of these are not particularly interesting or useful if you don’t already have a Safari window open – you could just tap on the icon to open a new window. Let’s see what happens when we have previously opened a Safari window, and we press on the Safari icon:
So, the main difference you can see is that there is a new option, Show All Windows. However, now that you have a Safari window open, some of the options have a different effect, so we’ll go through all of them:
New Tab – Tapping on this will open a new tab in your previously opened Safari window.
New Private Tab – Tapping on this will open a Private window – unless you had previously opened a private window, in which case this just opens a new tab in that window.
Show Bookmarks – Opens your Bookmarks on the left side of your Safari window.
Show Reading List – Opens your Reading List on the left side of your Safari window.
Show All Windows – This is the one that will allow you to open a new Safari window; I don’t know why there isn’t an option called “Open New Window” – but there isn’t.Opening the New Safari Window
Now, from start to finish, here’s how to open a new Safari window when you already have one open.
Assuming you have previously opened a Safari window. If necessary, swipe that Safari window out of your way so that you can see your Safari app icon. Press on the icon.
In the menu that appears, tap on Show All Windows.
You will see all of your open Safari windows. From this screen you can:
Swipe up to close a window.
Tap on a window to open it.
Tap on Reopen Closed Window to open up the last Safari window you closed.
Open a new window – tap on the little plus sign inside a circle that you see in the upper-right corner of your screen.Split View and Other Multi-Window iPad Tricks Split View
You can view multiple windows (Safari and others) at the same time on your iPad using Split View. We have previously written a couple of articles covering Split View:Other Tab and Window Options
For other options concerning tabs and windows in Safari, you may want to check out the options in the windows button menu:
If you press (not just tap) this button, you will see more tab options, and an option to open a new window in Split View. You can also merge all of your open windows – all pages will become tabs in a single Safari window.
As a Windows user, you may often need to run multiple instances of a program. These should be able to operate separately, and if needed, under different accounts. There are a few ways you can run another instance of the same application. The following guide illustrates a few of these methods with an attempt to explain which would be preferable for a specific kind of program.1. Just Relaunch the Program
The most native method to run another program instance is to simply relaunch it while it’s open. This works best for browsers, Microsoft Office applications, and Windows utilities such as Paint, Calculator, WordPad, Command Prompt, and even third-party software.
Alternatively, you can use or Ctrl + N to restart programs such as a Microsoft Word document.2. Launch Using Run Box in Windows 10
Another way to launch a Windows program is to use the Run Box window, which can be accessed from Win + R. First, trace the program’s .exe file location and copy the entire path.
Then, type the following into the Run box to open a new instance.
/secondary 3. Use Windows + Shift + Taskbar Number
One of the fastest ways to restart a program instance is to identify its numerical sequence from its corresponding position in the taskbar. You need to determine the required number from “left” to “right,” as demonstrated here for a Paint file.
To open a new instance, use the following keyboard shortcut: Win + Shift + Program’s Number on the Taskbar.4. Use the Program’s Web Browser Version
Using the above methods, it is difficult to relaunch the programs from the Microsoft Store. These include applications such as Skype, WhatsApp for Desktop, Zoom, and many others. If available, you can run multiple instances using the program’s web browser version. For Skype, a new version can be easily accessed from chúng tôi You may use different Skype accounts or the same one in the desktop, as well as the browser.
One way to get even better results is to use the browser’s “incognito mode.” As shown below with Skype, you can run three or more instances of a program that are easily accessible on the Web.5. Relaunch Program as a Different Windows User
If you choose the latter option, you can use either an Outlook ID or declare that “you don’t have the person’s sign-in information.”
Now, add a user without a Microsoft account to proceed. Alternatively, you may create a new Microsoft account.
Give a username and password to this new local account. Answer and save the security questions.
As shown here, a local account has been created. It can be easily removed from this window.
Enter the credentials that were used to create this local account. This would then help you run the program separately from any other instance as an Administrator.
Some applications are designed to prevent multiple users from accessing it on the same device, especially premium software with limited licenses.
