The new Xbox app for iOS and iPadOS devices is here and it now allows you to stream games on the same network directly from your console. This has been a much-requested feature since game streaming was announced by Microsoft back in 2023. After numerous beta tests and negotiations with Apple, the company has finally managed to release the app for all iOS devices.
This new Xbox app is not to be confused with Microsoft’s xCloud game streaming service that uses dedicated servers instead of your local Xbox console to stream games. xCloud is still very much in production, and if reports are to be believed, then Apple’s restrictions will force Microsoft to put out dedicated apps for each game that they wish to introduce with xCloud. This will end up not only being cumbersome for Microsoft but also for users that you wish to use xCloud on iOS and iPadOS devices.
For now, you can make full use of the new Xbox app and stream your entire game library from the cloud in your entire home. Let’s take a look at how you can do this.
1. Things you will need
An iOS or iPadOS device running iOS 14 or later
The latest Xbox app — Download Link
An Xbox Series X, an Xbox Series S, an Xbox One, an Xbox One X, or the Xbox One S
The same Bluetooth Xbox controller paired to your console and iOS/iPadOS device
2. Enable Remote features on your Xbox
Power on your Xbox and press the Xbox button when you are on the home screen.
Now use the shoulder buttons to navigate to the ‘Profile’ tab.
Select ‘Settings’ to access your console settings.
Select ‘Remote features’ in the right tab.
Now check the box for ‘Enable Remote features’ at the bottom of your screen.
Select ‘Test Remote Play’.
Xbox will now test your network and show you a report after the test is complete. This will help you determine if your Xbox is ready for the remote play functionality.
If there are any issues faced during the test or if you are using a 2.4GHz network then we recommend you make the necessary changes before proceeding with the next guide.
Once your Xbox is tested and ready for remote play, simply follow the guide below to set up your device.
3. How to play Xbox on your iOS device
Start by downloading and installing the new Xbox app on your iOS or iPadOS device using the link above.
Once installed, launch the app and tap on ‘Sign in’.
Now sign in to the app using your Xbox account credentials.
When you are signed in, you will be taken back to the welcome screen. Now tap on ‘Set Up Console’ at the bottom of your screen.
Make sure the device is connected to the same network as your Xbox (this is not necessary but recommended for an easy pairing process for the first time). Once you tap ‘Set Up Console’ your TV should display a 6 or 12 digit code.
Note: If your console does not power on and display the code automatically, power it on manually and try the steps again. You should be able to get a code by manually turning on your console. Additionally, if your Xbox can link with your account in the cloud then it might skip this step for you.
Once you enter the code, your Xbox will be connected to the Xbox app on your iOS device and you will be taken to the home screen where you should be able to view your entire game library currently stored on your console. When you are on the home screen, tap on the ‘My Library’ icon as shown below.
Your console should show up here under the Consoles tab. It will also display your console’s storage space as well as its current state. If your console does not appear in this section then you might want to try the pairing process again by tapping on ‘Set up console’ again. Additionally, if everything has been set up correctly then you should recheck if remote play features have been enabled for your Xbox and then restart the console.
In the My Library tab under the Consoles section tap on your console.
This will bring up a sub-menu at the bottom of your screen. Tap on ‘Remote play on this device’.
The device will now switch to landscape mode and display a spaceship animation. This is meant to signify the connection process.
You will now get a pop up saying ‘Xbox would like to find and connect to devices on your local network’. Tap on ‘Ok’ to proceed to the next step.
Now if you have already connected a controller then you will be good to go right away. But if you have not connected the controller to your iOS device, then the Xbox app will prompt you to do so.
You can refer to this comprehensive guide by us to help you pair your controller to an iOS or iPadOS device easily.
And that’s it! Your console home screen should now be visible to you as is. If your console was powered off, then it should turn on automatically and display the home screen to you. You can then use your controller to navigate the home screen and launch any game that you would like to play on your iOS or iPadOS device.
Can I remote play only on WiFi?
No, Mircosoft has made it pretty clear that you do not need to be on the same network to use the remote play functionality. You can access your Xbox directly from the app and stream games even on a cellular network. Your cellular network will have to be a minimum 4G and this will use up a lot of data.
So if you are on a metered data plan then you should use this functionality wisely. Additionally, the app will also let you know if the current cellular network is not suitable for streaming games.
Can’t pair my Xbox controller to my iPhone or iPad?
If you are unable to pair your controller then it is likely that it is running an older firmware. This might come as a surprise to many but Microsoft does indeed release firmware updates for its Xbox controllers to fix bugs and introduce performance improvements.
Compatibility with iOS devices was added much later on which is why it requires a firmware update. Additionally, the controller does not update to the latest firmware automatically and needs to be manually updated from your console which is why this feature tends to go unnoticed by most users. You can refer to this guide by us to easily update the firmware of your Xbox controller.
Once the firmware has been updated to the latest version, you should have no trouble using it with your iOS or iPadOS device. If you still end up facing issues during the pairing process, then you should consider updating to the latest iOS or iPadOS released by Apple.
Apple introduced support for controllers in 2023 and only managed to get them working properly after iOS 13.2 and later on. If you are running an older version of iOS then it is likely the cause of all your pairing problems. You can easily solve this by updating to the latest version of iOS 14 available for your device.

There are still some limitations, as this isn’t available for all Chromebook users just yet. However, the Steam program for ChromeOS was recently expanded to include more Chromebooks.
Before you can start trying to play Steam games on Chromebooks, it’s important first to find out whether your Chromebook is compatible. According to Google, you’ll need a device powered by at least an Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3 processor while being equipped with at least 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately, this means that if you have anything less than that, you won’t be able to try Steam on your Chromebook. Making the entire process even more confusing is that even if you have a Chromebook that meets the requirements from a hardware perspective, Google is only making it available on specific Chromebook models. Here’s the entire list:
Provided that you have one of the Chromebooks mentioned above, there are a few more steps you’ll need to take before you can start to play Steam games on Chromebooks.
Switch Over to the ChromeOS Beta Channel
Besides making sure your Chromebook is compatible, the first step you have to take is to switch over to the Beta Channel. This is the second most-updated version of the software, with Google tending to release updates multiple times per week. This also means that bugs could render other system parts inoperable until another update arrives. With that in mind, you can switch to the Beta Channel on your Chromebook.
Wake up and unlock your Chromebook.
Open the Settings app.
Select Additional details.
From the menu that appears, select Beta.
As soon as you switch over to the Beta channel on your Chromebook, the most recent and available update will begin to download. After the download is complete, you’ll be prompted to restart your Chromebook. Once the Beta Channel is activated, and the updated software is installed, you’ll be able to proceed with the steps to play Steam games on Chromebooks.
With the Beta Channel enabled and your Chromebook fresh off a restart, it’s time to get Steam up and running. This next step requires you to enable a couple of flags, which is an easy enough process if you know where to look.
Open Chrome on your Chromebook
Navigate to chrome://flags.
In the box at the top of the Experiments window, search for Borealis.
Select Enabled from the menu.
Once your Chromebook has finished restarting, open the ChromeOS launcher.
Search for Steam.
Follow the on-screen steps to install Steam on your Chromebook.
Once Steam is installed, log in with your Steam account.
If You Can’t Find Steam in the ChromeOS Launcher …
According to the updated Chromium Support page to play Steam games on a Chromebook, there’s a chance that you might not find the option to install Steam. Luckily, there’s a workaround for this, but you’ll need to open a “Crosh Terminal.” Essentially, this is a developer environment akin to Command Prompt on Windows or Terminal on macOS and allows ChromeOS users to run various commands.
Press CTRL + ALT + T simultaneously on your keyboard with your Chromebook unlocked.
When the Crosh Terminal appears, enter insert_coin.
Press Enter on your keyboard.
Follow the on-screen steps to install Steam on your Chromebook.
Play Even More Steam Games on Chromebooks with Proton
Beneath the surface, ChromeOS is technically built on Linux, which opens the door for you to expand outside the confines of Google’s Chrome and the Play Store. However, Valve has also been working on a compatibility tool that makes it easier to run apps and games on Linux, which is also available for Chromebooks. This is called “Proton” and is an open-source project you can view on GitHub.
If specific games don’t run particularly well “out of the box” after installing Steam, you can enable and activate the Proton Experimental layer within ChromeOS.
Open the Steam app on your Chromebook.
Navigate to your Game Library.
Locate and select the game that you want to try.
From the drop-down menu, select Properties.
Check the box next to Force using a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.
Select Proton Experimental.
Launch the game.
You can also do that if you prefer to enable the Proton Experimental compatibility layer for your entire Steam library. Doing so should help cover any bases if you run into issues with games that you might install in the future.
Open the Steam app on your Chromebook.
From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
Check the box next to Enable Steam Play for all other titles.
Select Proton Experimental.
Launch the game you want to try.
Some of the Best Steam Games for Chromebooks
It’s important to remember that while playing Steam games on Chromebooks is pretty incredible, there’s still a lot of work to do before this is made available for everyone. That being said, there are also limitations to the different games you can play, so we wouldn’t recommend trying to play recent AAA titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. On the bright side, Google has provided a list of some of the best Steam games that have been verified to work with Chromebooks and ChromeOS. Here are some of the highlights:
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition
Dark Souls: Remastered
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Enter the Gungeon
Left 4 Dead 2
Sid Meier’s Civilization V
Slay the Spire
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Team Fortress 2
The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim Special Edition
Untitled Goose Game
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Even if you install one of the games listed as verified by Google, depending on the specs of your Chromebook, you might still run into some issues. If this happens to you, it’s recommended that you try to make adjustments to the in-game graphical settings. Tweaking some of the settings here and there could help make the game run buttery smooth, even on a Chromebook.
Although not quite new, we reported this morning that Apple Watch can’t connect to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network. It’s not a bug or anything. It’s just a limitation of the current hardware found in Apple Watch. For those users that are not aware of this limitation, it can cause problems when believing that because you are on a known Wi-Fi network, Apple Watch and iPhone should still be able to connect even if they’re out of Bluetooth range.
There is just no way to make your Apple Watch connect to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network, but there are ways to work around that limitation. I’ve actually been helping people with that specific issue for a few days now, and because I’ve seen misinformation going around, I thought it would be best to just get things cleared up and explain how you can have both your iPhone and Apple Watch play nice with each other, even if your iPhone is connected to a 5Ghz network.iPhone, Apple Watch, and 5Ghz Wi-Fi networks
Again, this is a workaround, as there is no way to connect an Apple Watch to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network, but it does work.
Step 1: If not already done, set up two different networks on your router. The first network will be 2.4Ghz, and the second one will be a 5Ghz network.
Step 2: To prevent any kind of potential issue, forget all these Wi-Fi networks from your iPhone, if you previously connected to any of them.
Step 3: On your iPhone, connect first to the 2.4Ghz network. Technically, your Apple Watch should then remember that specific network. Although probably not necessary, I’d suggest performing a few task requiring an internet connection from your Apple Watch, just to make sure the connection between the device and iPhone is active. The transmission of data at that point will be via Bluetooth, as it is the preferred method for both devices to communicate between each other (for power efficiency purposes).
Step 4: As a test, and after performing the previous steps, I would suggest turning off Bluetooth on your iPhone. If everything went according to plan, your iPhone should still be connected to that 2.4Ghz network, and it should be using that same network to communicate with your Apple Watch, instead of relying on Bluetooth.
Note that you may see the red Disconnected icon on your Apple Watch for a brief moment. It may also say there is no connection with iPhone, but that’s just a temporary hiccup. I have experienced this myself but at every occasion, it switched to the Wi-Fi network a few seconds later.
At that point, it is safe to turn Bluetooth back on on your iPhone.
Step 5: From your iPhone, connect to the 5Ghz Wi-Fi network. If you choose so, you may even forget that 2.4Ghz network from your iPhone, because your Apple Watch will still remember it. From now on, even though your iPhone may be connected to the 5Ghz network, it will still be able to communicate with Apple Watch in case Bluetooth is unavailable. Apple Watch will be using the 2.4Ghz network it learned in step 3, and your iPhone will connect to the internet via the 5Ghz network.
At that point, you can even do a test by forgetting the 2.4Ghz network and disabling Bluetooth from your iPhone. Invoke Siri from your Apple Watch and tell her to make a call. This will be the real test to make sure it is indeed connecting to your iPhone.

PlayStation Now is a video game streaming service provided by Sony, the creator of the very popular and successful PlayStation console. This service is one of a few trying to explore video game streaming.
While people are already used to content streaming, mostly in the form of music or video, video game streaming is a recent concept that gained popularity in the last few years.
Now, Sony is announcing that the list of games available through the service will be constantly updated. So you need to check it out at least once a month to see what’s new.
Now, let’s get right into it and discover how we can play PS4 games on PC without the actual PS4 console doing all the work. Can you download PS4 games on a PC?
The answer is yes, provided you use the PS Now or PS4 Remote Play services. Otherwise, you will need a PS4 emulator in order to do so, but this type of software doesn’t allow you to play what you want.
There are, of course, PC versions of some of the most popular PlayStation 4 games, such as Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War.
For anything other than that, refer to what we said above and remember that these are the only ways, for the time being. Can I install PS4 games on a PC?
We’re just going to give you the short answer and avoid causing any further suspense or agony. You cannot download PS4 games on any other device other than PS4 itself.
That being said, you can, however, transfer already installed games to an external hard drive, if that is what you want. How can I play my PS4 games on my PC? 1. Play your PS4 games on PC with the PS Remote Play software
1. Navigate to the download page for PS Remote Play.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the app.
7. Tick the checkbox next to Enable Remote Play.
9. Lastly, connect your DualShock 4 controller to your PC via an USB cable.
The best way to play your PS4 games on a PC is via PS Remote Play. It is an official software developed by Sony that allows you to do just that. Before you can use it, you need to ensure your console is up to date with the latest updates.
Moreover, in order to run PS Remote Play on your PC, this is what you need to have:
Windows 10 or Windows 11
7th Generation Intel® Core™ processors or later
At least 100 MB of disk space
At least 2 GB of RAM
Display resolution that is 1024 × 768 or higher
A sound card
An USB port & USB cable
A high-speed internet connection
A Playstation Network account
A Dualshock 4 wireless controller2. Use PS Now to play PS4 games on a PC
Download and install PS Now app from the official source.
Connect the DualShock controller to the PC – see this guide to connect the PS controller to Windows.
Start streaming and playing on your Windows PC.
As for requirements, you will need a computer, a DualShock controller, a PS Now subscription, and, of course, a good Internet connection.
The PC hardware requirements are quite low with a Core i3 2.0 GHz and 2GB of RAM minimum.
Gamers will be able to play PlayStation 4 games directly on their PCs as long as they are using the PS Now service or PS4 Remote Play.
For those that haven’t gotten a chance to brush up on modern gaming habits, game streaming implies that the actual games are run and processed on the service provider’s machines.
The visual information is sent via the Internet to users, which control the game remotely. This allows people to play high-end games that won’t run on older PCs, so there’s no need to fully upgrade a computer just for playing a game.
New or old, there are hundreds of games available that were released for PS4, PS3, and even PS2 that you can play on your Windows PC.
PlayStation Now service can be used to access exclusive PlayStation games such as the critically acclaimed Uncharted series, and stream and play them on your PC.
Also, one of the biggest attractions of the PS Now service is that you can start playing on one device and resume playing on the other device if you are signed in to your PlayStation account on both devices.
There you go! Now you know everything that is about playing Ps4 games on a PC without a console, or simply playing PS4 games on a PC with a keyboard and mouse.Should I play PS4 games on a PC emulator?
As we mentioned above, the software for emulating PlayStation 4 games on your PC exists, but don’t expect to have the same flawless experience.
That being said, there aren’t many of them and they can’t emulate full games due to PS 4 being a more recent gaming system that takes a significant amount of resources.
Out of the available PS4 emulators for PC, the best ones to use would be PS4Emus, PCSX4, Orbital PS4 Emulator, or fpPS4 Emulator. There are others as well, but still pretty rudimentary or still in the early development stages.

Hide and Seek on Among Us: What is it?
If you want to freshen up your Among Us skills and want something more casual, Hide and Seek is the way to go. As the name suggests, when playing Hide and Seek on Among Us, your target is to stay alive for as long as you can, possibly until the end of the game.
In this game, there can only one imposter while the rest of the players are Crewmates. Crewmates will get a certain countdown time at the start of the game during which time they should find places where they can hide themselves to escape being killed by the imposter.
An interesting aspect of this game mode in Among Us is that all the crewmates know who the imposter is at the beginning of the game. When the imposter their finishes the countdown, they can sabotage the lights and then proceed to locate and kill the crewmates. The imposter might technically win when they find the last crewmate but the last crewmate is the actual winner here, even if they’re found.

Hide and Seek on Among Us: How to Play
For you to start playing Hide and Seek on Among Us, you must make sure that you’re playing the game with a cooperative bunch of players, possibly your friends. This is because, even though Hide and Seek is now a known game mode, Among Us doesn’t officially feature it.
In order to, thus, play the Hide and Seek mode you shouldn’t opt for a public lobby. Pick a friend circle or a lobby you often use and set it to the in-game rules as shown in the section above. Once that’s sorted, one of the players needs to be an imposter and make sure it’s just one.
If all of that’s taken care of, you can start a game on Among Us. At the very beginning of the session, someone will have to host an emergency meeting and in this meeting, the Imposter will have to come forward and reveal that they are indeed the imposter. If you wish to do the announcement swiftly, you can use Discord’s voice chat to know who the imposter is but after that disable voice chat entirely.
The next step is important. After an imposter reveals their identity, make sure you skip the votes and proceed to the game. When the meeting ends, the crewmates get a 15-20 seconds cooldown time which they can use to run and hide anywhere on the map they would like to be. During this time, the imposter will have to stay in one place and wait till the cooldown is over.
When the cooldown period is over, the imposter can start moving around and search for crewmates to kill. While an imposter is set to kill the crewmates, other players should hide and avoid getting seen by the killer.
Normally, crew members do not attempt to complete tasks but will just have to hide and stay away from the imposter. Crewmates cannot fix lights that have been sabotaged, report dead bodies, or call emergency meetings during the course of the game.
In some versions, Crewmates can also finish their tasks at the same time. Both crewmates and ghosts will need to complete tasks to have a chance at winning.
All the imposter has to do is seek and kill as many crewmates as they can until there just one crewmate is left.
The winner is declared on different conditions which we discuss below.
Hide and Seek on Among Us: Win conditions
There are rules to stick to but if you want to win a game of Hide and Seek on Among Us, there are a couple of conditions that the gaming community follows to decide who’s the winner of the match. For Hide and Seek on Among Us, there are two Win conditions:
Last One Standing: As is how you have cherished this childhood game, the winner when playing Hide and Seek in Among Us is the last one standing. By last one standing, we don’t mean the imposter but the only remaining crewmate who is declared the winner of the game.
Complete all tasks: Unlike the Last one standing, this mode requires crewmates to complete tasks but to balance the risks involved, they will also be able to know where the imposter is. However, if any player is stuck doing their task, they are most likely going to get killed by the imposter and lose the game. Also, unlike the earlier winning condition, the imposter here can win the game too. The imposter wins this game if they can kill all the crewmates except for the last one and a crewmate wins if they can complete all their tasks.
More Among Us Game Modes:
Besides Hide and Seek, there is a handful of modes you can try out when playing Among Us. Keep in mind that some of these modes will favor one side or the other for ease of play and for the sake of making the game as fun as possible.
So you’re a pro in Among Us and you have a history of confusing others by naming yourself after a color you aren’t. But are you skilled enough to make it through when things get harder? In Color Mode, each of the players is to be named after a color that they’re not assigned in-game.
The basis of doing this is to make it harder for players to call each other out by color or name because if you say you saw “Blue”, you might have meant a player with the name “Blue” but others will mistake it for a blue-colored player or vice versa.
Color mode is thus a challenging mode for crewmates to win but easier for imposters as there’s chaos everywhere. The only solution that could work is by calling yourself “I”, “me”, “we”, or the opposition as “they” and “them”.
If you’re reading this but you have no clue what Monster mode is all about, think of it as the opposite version of a standard Among Us game. You need to set the following rules:
Imposter kill Cooldown: 10 seconds
Crewmate vision: 2x
Imposter vision: 0.5x
Confirm Ejects: On
Discussion time: 15 seconds
Voting time: 15 seconds
Player speed: 1.5x
Kill distance: Normal
Visual Tasks: On
Imposters can only sabotage doors
Disable reporting a body
Emergency meetings are recommended to be OFF
Confirm ejects are turned On for you to eject those players who summon a meeting or report a dead body. You still have to keep up with the ghost rules and can only share what you saw with other prey. Crewmates and ghosts can warn other players when they’re around the imposter.
In Frantic mode, everything happens swiftly as there’s no cooldown time, tasks are shorter and voting times are minimal as well. This means, Crewmates won’t be able to discuss for longer and the decisions they make will be quick and spontaneous. You will have to make sure that Confirm ejects are turned off as well as visual tasks are set to ‘No’.
Games with Frantic mode won’t last as long as normal sessions in Among Us and you can thus play more sessions in a limited time than you usually would in the game.
This mode is the opposite of Frantic in every possible way. Gone are spontaneous decisions and zero cooldowns as you will have to make way for long discussions and cooldown period. The rules for this mode are simple; there will be:
2x emergency meetings or long kill cooldown period
Long discussion time and long voting time of around 90-150 seconds
Confirm ejects are switched ON
Visual Tasks is enabled
While Frantic mode favors Imposters, Methodical revolves around deduction and strategy and are often won by the crewmates since they have superior powers. This mode doesn’t depend on player movement which you can set anywhere between 1x and 1.75x.
That’s everything you need to know about the Hide and Seek mode in Among Us. Remember that you’re just doing it all for fun; you can go ahead and break a rule to make it entertaining.
