The good news is users can at least usually recover recently deleted files a few days or a couple of weeks after erasing them.
The Recycle Bin is a file deletion safeguard in Windows that makes it easy to recover files.
Unless configured otherwise, the Recycle Bin stores the files users select to delete. So, you can often recover deleted user files from the Recycle Bin.
You might still be able to recover files that were in an emptied Recycle Bin. When a file is fully deleted, the references to it are erased and the hard drive space it originally consumed becomes available.
A file’s data remains intact until it gets overwritten. So, users can retrieve recently deleted files with recovery software.

Ios 16 Recently Deleted Messages: Our Complete Step
With the number of messaging apps that you regularly use, texts you receive on the native Messages app on the iPhone may typically go unnoticed. If you’re like us, you may often find it difficult to search for something important among the sea of irrelevant messages you get daily. While you were able to remove these messages from your iPhone in the past, sometimes you could also end up accidentally deleting a text that was of significance.
To prevent this from happening, Apple now allows iPhone users to keep deleted messages in the Recently Deleted section which can be accessed at a later time if the user needs them. In this post, we’ll explain everything you need to know about Recently Deleted messages on iOS 16 and how you may use it on your iPhone.

What are ‘Recently Deleted’ messages on iOS 16?
Recently Deleted is a new section inside the Messages app on iOS 16 which lets you view any messages you deleted from your iPhone in the last month. Any messages you delete from your iMessage account will show up inside this section and this includes text messages, pictures, voice messages, or files shared by you or others. Messages inside the Recently Deleted section would include both single messages you removed from a conversation as well as entire conversations.
Before this, when you deleted a message on iOS 15, the message would instantly be removed from your iPhone and wouldn’t be readily recoverable. Instead, the only way to recover deleted messages on iOS 15 was to restore your iPhone to an older backup that had saved the message you want to recover.
With iOS 16, you can easily access the messages you delete and even recover them for a limited time before they’re permanently deleted from your iPhone.

How to move messages on your iPhone to Recently Deleted
Messages can be moved to Recently Deleted when you delete them from the Messages app on your iPhone. To move messages to Recently Deleted, open the Messages app on your iPhone.
Note: This will only be possible if your iPhone runs on iOS 16 or later. If you’re running on an older version of iOS, the messages you delete wouldn’t be accessible unless you restore your iPhone to an older backup.
Delete an entire message thread
Inside Messages, locate the thread you want to remove a message from. If you wish to move an entire message thread, tap and hold on the preferred thread.
In the overflow menu that appears, select Delete.
In the prompt that appears at the bottom, tap on Delete to confirm your action.
Delete a single message from a thread
If you wish to delete a single message from a thread, open the thread by tapping on it.
In the overflow menu that appears, select More.
The selected message will now be highlighted with a blue tick icon on the left-hand side. From this screen, you can select more messages from the thread you wish to move to the Recently Deleted section. Once you’ve selected the messages you want to move, tap on the trash icon at the bottom left corner.
In the prompt that appears at the bottom, tap on Delete Messages.
The selected messages will now be sent to the Recently Deleted section inside the Messages app.

You will now be able to select multiple messages that you want to move to Recently Deleted. To make your selection, simply tap on the desired messages and you will see blue tick icons appear on the left-hand side.
Once you’ve selected the messages, tap on Delete at the bottom right corner.
In the prompt that appears at the bottom, tap on Delete.

What happens when you move messages to Recently Deleted?
When you delete a message on iOS 16, the selected message or thread will instantly move to the Recently Deleted folder inside the Messages app. iOS stores all of your recent messages inside this section for up to 30 days from the time you deleted a message.
During this time, you can access any of the messages you sent to Recently Deleted, bring them back to your conversations, or delete them manually from there to permanently erase any trace of these messages.
Once a message is older than 30 days, iOS will remove it from the Recently Deleted folder and delete it forever. Apple mentions that it may take up to 40 days on some occasions for the messages to get deleted.
How long can you view a message inside Recently Deleted?
As mentioned above, messages and conversations you move to the Recently Deleted folder will be accessible inside the Messages app for up to 30 days from the date you deleted a message from the Messages screen. After this time expires, the Messages app will permanently delete the expired messages from your account and you won’t be able to view them or recover them from any device.
If a message you moved to the Recently Deleted folder is nearing its expiration date, you can move it back to the main messages screen and then delete it again to renew its expiration date to another 30 days.

How to find Recently Deleted Messages on your iPhone
The messages you deleted from the Messages app won’t appear alongside your active conversations on the app. Instead, they will be accessible inside a separate Recently Deleted folder that can be accessed within the Messages app. To find your recently deleted messages, open the Messages app on your iPhone.
Inside Messages, tap on Filters at the top left corner.
On the next screen, you’ll see all the different filters that your texts are categorized into. From here, tap on Recently Deleted at the bottom.
In the Recently Deleted screen that appears, you’ll see a list of messages you deleted in the last 30 days.
You won’t be able to open a conversation or a message directly from this screen. If you wish to open a deleted message, you will need to recover them back to your conversations.
How to recover or delete Recently Deleted Messages from your iPhone
iOS 16 allows you to recover any text or conversation you deleted in the last 30 days from the Recently Deleted section or you can choose to delete them permanently from your iPhone if you no longer wish to keep them.
Recover messages from Recently Deleted
In the Recently Deleted screen, you’ll see a list of messages that you deleted within the last 30 days. If you wish to recover a message from this screen and send them back to your active conversations, select the message from this list. You can select multiple messages from this list and when you make your section, you will see a blue tick icon appear on the left-hand side of the selected messages.
Once you’ve made your selection, tap on Recover at the bottom right corner.
To confirm this action, select Recover Messages in the prompt that appears at the bottom.
The selected messages will now move back to the main conversations screen inside the Messages app.
You can also recover all the messages from the Recently Deleted screen and move them back to your conversations by tapping on Recover All at the bottom right corner.
To confirm this action, select Recover Messages in the prompt that appears at the bottom.
This will recover all of your recently deleted messages and move them back to the messages screen; thus emptying the Recently Deleted section.
Delete messages from Recently Deleted
Inside the Recently Deleted screen, you’ll see a list of messages that you deleted within the last 30 days. To delete one of the messages from this section, select a message you want to remove and a blue tick icon will appear on its left-hand side. You can select as many messages as you want to delete to remove them in bulk.
Once you’ve made your selection, tap on Delete at the bottom left corner.
You will see a prompt at the bottom asking you to confirm your action. In this prompt, select Delete Messages.
When you do that, the selected messages will be deleted from all your Apple device and will not be recoverable at any point in the future.
You can also delete all of the messages you moved to the Recently Deleted section by tapping on Delete All at the bottom left corner.
In the familiar prompt that shows up, tap on Delete Messages to confirm your action.
Since the Recently Deleted section has been emptied, you will be taken back to the list of filters where you will no longer see a Recently Deleted folder on the screen.
I cannot see messages I moved to Recently Deleted. Why?
The Recently Deleted screen will show all the messages you deleted from your iPhone as well as the ones you removed from other Apple devices. The feature requires you to run on iOS 16 or later; meaning this section won’t be accessible on devices running on iOS 15 or earlier. If you wish to move your messages to the Recently Deleted section, you thus need to make sure you’re deleting them from an iPhone on iOS 16.
In case you cannot see the messages you deleted inside the Recently Deleted section, it could be because:
The message you’re looking for has already reached its expiration date (i.e. 30 days) and iOS has automatically removed it permanently from your iPhone.
You had manually recovered the message that you deleted before which means this message will be accessible inside the main Messages screen alongside your active conversations.
You have already deleted the message (intentionally or by mistake) from the Recently Deleted section at which point there’s no way you can recover it back.
Messages you deleted before updating to iOS 16 won’t show up inside the Recently Deleted folder as they may have been removed permanently from your iPhone.
If you’re unable to access messages you recently deleted:
You need to look for them inside the Recently Deleted section as instructed earlier in this post.
The Recently Deleted screen is unavailable because your iPhone is running on iOS 15 or an older version.
That’s all you need to know about Recently Deleted Messages on iOS 16.

How To Recover Corrupted Files From Usb Flash Drive?
If you are working with a corrupted file, you are likely to encounter a system message stating that you have file corruption. Additionally, issues while accessing, opening or transferring files could also indicate a possible file corruption.
Talking about what caused the corruption, it is very likely that files in the USB drive got affected by a malicious application. Besides malwares, abruptly removing the USB drive or a sudden power loss while performing read/write operation are well known causes for a file to be corrupted.
Now that you know some causes on how a file can get corrupted, let us now see how you can recover them. The first thing you can do is check if the data blocks on your drive are corrupted. To do this, you can try performing a disk scan.
You can use the chkdsk command to scan both internal and external storage devices for errors. Once the scan is complete, it creates a status report about your disk based on its file system. Furthermore, it lists, corrects and tries to recover data on the disk.
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
You can also scan your USB flash drive from Windows Explorer.
Press Windows + E to open File Explorer.
Select Scan drive.
A file getting corrupted can mean multiple things. In some cases, it could be that the corruption causes the file attribute to change, which simultaneously results in the file to be hidden. To fix this you can try running the ATTRIB command.
The attrib command can display, set or remove file attributes. In our case, we will clear file attributes on the USB drive containing the corrupted file.
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
Type cmd and press Ctrl + Alt + Enter to open Command Prompt as admin.
Once the command runs, you should be able to see the corrupted files on the flash drive.
Windows has a special backup feature that is available on all Windows versions after Windows 7. You can restore your USB drive if you have previously enabled this feature. It creates a history of file details at certain times.
Using this restore point, Windows restores corrupted files or even folders.
Open File Explorer.
Go to the Previous Version tab.
One thing to keep in mind is that you need to be wary when downloading hard disk recovery software. There are cases where the recovery application itself contains malware, corrupting your entire system.
If you are able to recover corrupted files from the USB flash drive, we recommend that you perform necessary measures to prevent things like such from happening again.
One primary precaution you could perform time and again to prevent files from getting corrupted is scan the USB device. When you scan your drive, the system goes through the files and folders and checks for any malicious activity that could potentially affect your USB drive.
Press the Windows + E to open File Explorer.
Go to This PC.
Select Scan now.
Windows Defender will start the scanning process and give you a report about the details of the scan. Make sure that you perform these scans every now and then.
If you have antivirus installed on your PC, you can also use this application to scan your USB drives.
You can check the status of the storage device using S.M.A.R.T. Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART). It monitors storage devices connected in your system and determines whether the device is failing.
Insert the USB flash drive into the PC
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
Type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open the Command prompt as admin.
Here, you will see the list of storage devices connected to the system and its status. OK means the device does not have any issues. The status will display Pred Fail if there is any issue with the device.
If it indicates Pred Fail, we recommend that you backup files from these USB flash drives.
Formatting the USB drives not only removes all the data on your storage device but also sets it to the state it was when you took it out of the package. By doing this, the system will clear all the memory blocks and reset them, eliminating any risks of possible data corruption.
However, make sure that you backup files in your USB drives before formatting it.
Open This PC.
Select the File System as Fat32 or NTFS.
How To Recover Data From A Corrupted Sd Card
SD (Solid State Digital) cards are amazing bits of technology. Especially when it comes to the tiny, fingernail-sized Micro versions. These little cards can hold tens, hundreds, and even thousands of gigabytes of data!
Unfortunately, the small size of SD cards comes with a price. Not only can SD cards be fragile and easy to lose, but they also have a horrible tendency to stop working or offer up corrupted versions of your data.
Table of Contents
If that’s happened to you, let’s look at how to recover data from a corrupted SD card.
Is My SD Card Actually Corrupt? Before we look at recovering a corrupted SD card, let’s quickly talk about the symptoms that indicate that your SD card is suffering from corruption in the first place. Here are some common signs that your SD card has been corrupted:
You can see the files on the card, but can’t read and/or write to them
The SD card shows up as empty, even though you know there are files there
You can see files such as photos, but when you open them they are corrupted
Copying from the card shows an impossible completion time, usually ending in copy failure
The Windows 10 Disk Management Tool shows the drive, but says it’s empty or unreadable
If that’s the behavior you’re seeing, chances are that your data has become corrupt or the SD card itself is in trouble. Before you proceed, you may want to check our troubleshooting guide for when SD cards can’t be read at all.
Basic DiagnosticsBefore attempting data recovery or doing something drastic like formatting the SD card, there are a few basic diagnostic steps you should take to make sure you know which device is actually the problem.
Try the SD card in another device
Try a known working SD card in the same device
Try reading the SD card with a different reader
Try reading the SD card via the original device using a cable
SD Card Issues Vs Corrupted Writes Fake SD CardsIf this is a new SD card or one that you’ve never really filled up before. There’s a possibility that you’ve actually bought a fake SD card. “Fake” in the sense that the capacity you were sold isn’t what’s actually on the card.
Fake SD cards are a scourge of modern technology. Since small-capacity SD cards are so cheap but larger ones are many times more expensive, scammers create cards that report false capacities. So, for example, your “128GB” SD card might only have 16 GB of actual capacity. What happens is that when that 16GB SD card fills up, the card just starts overwriting the first data in a loop.
This can actually fool us for a long time since we’re likely to check only the most recent files we’ve saved or might not reach the maximum capacity of the real SD size for quite some time.
If you suspect that your SD card is fake rather than corrupted, try using one of the many fake SD card testers available for download. FakeFlashTest is one popular solution that will tell you if your SD card is just broken or actually counterfeit.
Use a Disk Checker ToolSometimes it’s not your actual SD card or data that’s gone wrong, but something about the card’s file system. Simply using the disk checker tool in your operating system can recover data from a corrupted SD card. In Windows 10. Here’s what to do:
If your actual data is not damaged and the SD card is physically fine, the disk checker will rebuild its logical structure and the disk should be usable again. If the card isn’t working properly, the disk checker will let you know.
Using Specialized Recovery SoftwareIf none of your DIY diagnostics yield any results and the SD card still at least shows up when you insert it, then consider using specialized SD card data recovery software.
These software packages go around the limitations of the average drive management standards and examine the SD card bit-by-bit using brute force methods. Sometimes you can recover corrupted data fully this way or at least recover your data partially. Which is better than losing all of it.
However, these programs can’t perform miracles. If the data has been physically destroyed or cannot be accessed at all, then there really is nothing the software can do.
A good place to start is Recuva, a great general-purpose data recovery tool that has saved our own data many times in the past.
Hire A Data Recovery SpecialistLet’s say that the information on your SD card is absolutely critical. Perhaps you just filmed a once-in-a-lifetime event for an important project and when you got home it turns out the SD card doesn’t want to work or the data is unreadable.
When data is valuable, you’ll want to consider getting the help of a data recovery specialist to recover data from a corrupted SD card. These companies have access to equipment and software far beyond the average consumer. They can rebuild broken hardware components and directly read data from the media.
This includes not only common corruption errors but electronics failure, memory chip failure, fire damage, water damage, physical damage, and just about anything you can imagine.
Sounds great, right? Well, it certainly is, but engaging the services of these specialists is expensive, so the data in question has to be worth it to you.
Prevention Is Better Than The CureLook, you’re probably reading this article because you’ve suffered a loss when it comes to your corrupted SD cards. Hopefully one of the solutions above has recovered some or even all of your data. However, sometimes data is simply lost forever.
So to stop yourself from becoming a victim of SD data loss again, consider doing the following:
Use automated cloud storage to back up SD card data such as photos or videos
Manually use services like Google One, DropBox or OneDrive
Move SD card contents from devices like drones and cameras to your computer ASAP
Keep at least two copies of irreplaceable data in two separate places
Only buy high-quality SD cards from reputable brands if data integrity is critical
SD cards are fairly robust, but they still seem to fail more often than other types of solid-state storage. Especially if you use them in applications where they are written to constantly. Using your SD cards in a way that acknowledges their weaknesses will help you prevent losses in the first place.
