How To Burn Files To A Dvd / Cd On Mac Os
If you’re a Mac user that has a SuperDrive, DVD burner, or CD burner, you may be interested in knowing that modern versions of Mac OS continue to support a simple native ability to burn files directly to a DVD or CD disc.
Burning files and data to a disc allows for easy backups and file transfers, and remains common in many multimedia rich environments. Additionally, burning files or other data to a disc is particularly helpful for situations where you need to copy or share data with another computer which is not directly networked, nearby, or even a computer which is airgapped.
If this general concept or capability appeals to you but you do not currently have a SuperDrive, DVD burner, or CD burner, then you can use Remote Disc to share a SuperDrive, or you always obtain one yourself. Buying the Apple SuperDrive is a popular option (and you can often make the Superdrive work with an unsupported Mac or even a Windows PC if you happen to have one laying around going unused), but there are a variety of well-rated third party options available from Amazon too. Anyway, let’s assume you already have a SuperDrive with the capability to burn a DVD or CD.
How to Burn a Data Disc on the MacYou can copy and burn any data or files to a disc by using this method:
If applicable, connect the SuperDrive to the Mac
Create a new folder on the desktop (or elsewhere) and place the files you want to burn to the disc inside that folder
Select the folder you just created containing the files you wish to burn to the DVD / CD
With the folder selected, pull down the “File” menu and choose “Burn ‘Folder’ to Disc…”
You’ll be presented with a “Burn Disc” window, when you see this, insert the blank DVD or CD disc into the drive
Burning a disc can take a while depending on the speed of the drive, along with the size of the data being burned and copied to the disc itself. Burning a CD is usually faster than burning a DVD, if for no other reason than a CD has less storage capacity than a DVD does.
Keep in mind that the amount of data you can burn to a particular disc will depend on the size of the files as well as the storage capacity of the target disc, and again a DVD will have more storage available (4.7 GB or so) compared to a CD (700 MB or so).
Once completed you can eject the disc from the Mac and share it as you would normally. Hand it off to a person, take it to another computer, drop it in the mail, send it via FedEx across the world, whatever you want to do.
If this idea of copying data to a physical device and sending it onward appeals to you, but you do not have a SuperDrive nor do you want to get one, you can always copy data to a USB flash drive and send that off or share that as well. Copying data to a USB flash drive does not require burning, as the flash drive maintains both read and write capabilities (unless it is specifically locked).
Mac users can also create a new burn folder from the File menu, or by inserting a blank disc directly into the Mac and choosing to open the Finder, and then dragging and dropping data onto that disc and choosing the “Burn” button in the relevant Finder window.
The approach covered here obviously pertains to files and data, but you can also use the built-in Burning functionality to burn disc images directly from the Mac Finder, Disk Utility, or even from the command line.
Physical media discs like CDs and DVDs are becoming less common as online data transfer takes over as a dominant form of data transmission and file sharing, but nonetheless discs containing files and data remains an important method of transfer and sharing for many industries, and for many users.

How To Recover Corrupted Files From Usb Flash Drive?
If you are working with a corrupted file, you are likely to encounter a system message stating that you have file corruption. Additionally, issues while accessing, opening or transferring files could also indicate a possible file corruption.
Talking about what caused the corruption, it is very likely that files in the USB drive got affected by a malicious application. Besides malwares, abruptly removing the USB drive or a sudden power loss while performing read/write operation are well known causes for a file to be corrupted.
Now that you know some causes on how a file can get corrupted, let us now see how you can recover them. The first thing you can do is check if the data blocks on your drive are corrupted. To do this, you can try performing a disk scan.
You can use the chkdsk command to scan both internal and external storage devices for errors. Once the scan is complete, it creates a status report about your disk based on its file system. Furthermore, it lists, corrects and tries to recover data on the disk.
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
You can also scan your USB flash drive from Windows Explorer.
Press Windows + E to open File Explorer.
Select Scan drive.
A file getting corrupted can mean multiple things. In some cases, it could be that the corruption causes the file attribute to change, which simultaneously results in the file to be hidden. To fix this you can try running the ATTRIB command.
The attrib command can display, set or remove file attributes. In our case, we will clear file attributes on the USB drive containing the corrupted file.
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
Type cmd and press Ctrl + Alt + Enter to open Command Prompt as admin.
Once the command runs, you should be able to see the corrupted files on the flash drive.
Windows has a special backup feature that is available on all Windows versions after Windows 7. You can restore your USB drive if you have previously enabled this feature. It creates a history of file details at certain times.
Using this restore point, Windows restores corrupted files or even folders.
Open File Explorer.
Go to the Previous Version tab.
One thing to keep in mind is that you need to be wary when downloading hard disk recovery software. There are cases where the recovery application itself contains malware, corrupting your entire system.
If you are able to recover corrupted files from the USB flash drive, we recommend that you perform necessary measures to prevent things like such from happening again.
One primary precaution you could perform time and again to prevent files from getting corrupted is scan the USB device. When you scan your drive, the system goes through the files and folders and checks for any malicious activity that could potentially affect your USB drive.
Press the Windows + E to open File Explorer.
Go to This PC.
Select Scan now.
Windows Defender will start the scanning process and give you a report about the details of the scan. Make sure that you perform these scans every now and then.
If you have antivirus installed on your PC, you can also use this application to scan your USB drives.
You can check the status of the storage device using S.M.A.R.T. Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART). It monitors storage devices connected in your system and determines whether the device is failing.
Insert the USB flash drive into the PC
Press the Windows + R key to open Run.
Type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open the Command prompt as admin.
Here, you will see the list of storage devices connected to the system and its status. OK means the device does not have any issues. The status will display Pred Fail if there is any issue with the device.
If it indicates Pred Fail, we recommend that you backup files from these USB flash drives.
Formatting the USB drives not only removes all the data on your storage device but also sets it to the state it was when you took it out of the package. By doing this, the system will clear all the memory blocks and reset them, eliminating any risks of possible data corruption.
However, make sure that you backup files in your USB drives before formatting it.
Open This PC.
Select the File System as Fat32 or NTFS.
How To Copy Object From Picture And Video In Iphone And Mac? – Webnots
There are plenty of image processing apps available for iOS and macOS to remove the background and isolate objects from pictures. Good thing is that now you can do this without any third-party app in iPhone and Mac. Though it is a basic feature, you can simply copy the object and paste or share anywhere. This works on default apps like Photos in iPhone and Preview, Photos and Quick Time Player in Mac.
Copy Objects from Images in iPhoneMost third-party apps help to remove background from the picture and retain the main object. However, default iOS works other way round to copy the object by separating it from the background. This works automatically with image recognition and all what you need is a picture where an object is clearly visible. The object could be yourself, your pet, children or any other item in a picture. Make sure to update your iPhone to iOS 17 or later and follow the below steps.
Launch Photos app to find and open the picture from which you want to separate an object.
Tap and press the object and you will notice the outline of the object glows instantly.
Drag the object to confirm it can be moved independently without any other objects or background from the picture.
Drag and Move Object in Image
This indicates your iPhone can identify the object and lift your finger.
You will see a toolbar appears showing menu items on top of the object.
You will have three options – Copy, Add Sticker and Share.
Object Extract Options in iPhone
Tap on “Copy” option to copy the object to clipboard.
Now, open Messages or any other app and tap on the text box field to reveal the menu.
Select “Paste” to insert the copied object from clipboard.
Paste Lifted Object in New Message
Creating Sticker from ObjectIf you want to create a sticker from the object on your picture, select “Add Sticker” option. This will open stickers pane from the bottom showing the extracted object. Tap on “Add Effect” option from the toolbar and iPhone will show few options to decorate your sticker. Select the effect and tap on “Done” to save your object as a sticker.
Add Sticker Effect for Extracted Object
Go to Messages app, tap on the + icon showing left side of the text box and then select “Stickers” option to view your object showing there in the stickers list.
Stickers Menu in iPhone Messages App
Tap on the sticker to insert in your conversations or drag and attach the sticker to any previous messages in the conversation.
Select and Insert Stickers in Messages App
Sharing Object from ImageIn addition to copying and creating stickers, you can share the object from any picture by selecting the “Share” option. This will open the default iPhone’s sharing pane showing all available options like AirDrop, Save to Files or add to new Quick Note. You can also directly share the object on social networking apps like WhatsApp or Facebook.
Share Object from Picture
Note: As you can see, the extracted object is in transparent PNG format which is 1.2 MB in size though it is very small. If you want to reduce the file size, first save to files. Later, you can process it with any image editing apps and convert to compressed JPEG format.
Copy Object from VideoiOS 17 added an additional feature to extract objects from videos.
Open your video in Photos app.
Pause the video where you see the object is clearly visible.
Tap on the object and hold till you see it is glowing.
Lift your finger to see the same toolbar menu appears showing options for copy, add to stickers and share.
Copy Object from iPhone Video
Copy Object from Image or Video in MacMac also supports removing background and lifting the object from pictures and videos.
Open your picture or video in Photos app. If it is a video, pause it in a position where you can see the object clearly. You can also open pictures in Preview and videos in Quick Time Player.
Mac will show a glowing outline on the identified object indicating you can lift that object separately.
Select “Copy Subject” to extract the object to your clipboard.
Copy Object in Mac Preview App
Open Messages or any other app and paste the copied object in the text box.
Paste Copied Object in Messages App
Note: Though there are no sticker option in Mac, all stickers created in iPhone will be synchronized in iCloud and available across all your devices.
Share Object from Image and Videos in Mac
Share Object in Freeform App
Note: Some apps like Preview and Quick Time Player will show additional options for copying or sharing the entire image frame from the video in addition to copy/share the object.
Copy or Share Image from Video in Quick Time Player
Copying Multiple ObjectsAs mentioned, copying object from a picture or video is a very basic feature in iPhone/Mac. Here are some problems you will face with this feature.
When there are multiple objects in the picture, iPhone and Mac will identify them as a single object together. This means when you have two persons in a picture, you can only copy both of them together and no possibility of copying either of them separately.
The feature will automatically identify only one major object in your picture/video. It will not identify smaller objects and you have no option to manually select different item.
You may need to go for third-party image processing apps if you need granular controls for removing background or lifting objects from your pictures/videos.
How To Access Your Mac Remotely From Your Iphone Or Ipad With Screens Vnc
There is a ton of VNC software options out there, but Screens by Edovia has by far been my favorite for a number of years because it looks and feels like software Apple could have created themselves.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how you can use the Screens app from your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, in combination with Edovia’s free Screens Connect software for Mac, to access your Mac remotely.
Why Screens VNC?Screens VNC for iOS is on the pricier side of things, at $19.99 from the App Store, so lots of people are going to be skeptical at its worthiness and compare it to free software like TeamViewer and other less-expensive VNC apps.
My opinion on many of those alternatives is that they may work alright, but… meh. The interfaces don’t really spark my interest, or the features aren’t really as appealing.
I’ve tried lots of VNC software apps, and none have felt as native as Screens. It just seems to work well and it looks and feels like an app that was put together by people who understand the design and function of Apple’s iOS and OS X platforms very well.
Accessing your Mac remotely with Screens VNCThere are two things you have to do to make this work: 1) you need to set up your Mac, and 2) you need to set up your iOS device.
Setting up your MacUsing Screens VNC is pretty easy; Edovia has pretty much streamlined the process by making everything cloud-based. You can make a free Screens Connect account and everything else becomes easy peasy. We’ll show you the steps to set up your VNC connection to your Mac with Screens below:
2) Next, download and install the free Screens Connect software from Edovia’s website on your Mac or PC after you’ve created your Screens Connect account.
5) Once you’re in, you’re good to go. You should see green dots for everything because Screens Connect will configure itself automatically for the best performance on your network:
Setting up your iOS deviceTo prepare your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, you’ll follow these steps:
1) Download and install Screens VNC on your iOS device.
2) Launch the app and tap on the Settings button at the top left of the app’s interface:
3) Next, tap on the Screens Connect Sign In cell.
4) Enter your credentials for your Screens Connect account and tap Next.
5) Once your sign in is complete, tap on the Settings button and then tap on the Done button.
6) Now you’ll find yourself back in the Screens VNC app interface. If you’re on the same Wi-Fi network as your computer, you can tap on the + button to begin adding your computer.
7) In the next menu that appears, tap on the New Screen button.
8) You should now be given a list of computers you can connect to. Your Mac or PC that you installed Screens Connect on should show up in this list if it’s on the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device. Tap on it.
9) The next screen lets you configure your connection to your computer. You can leave almost everything how it is because Screens Connect set everything up for you already. Just enter your computer’s username and password so Screens VNC knows how to log into your computer, then tap Done.
10) Your computer will now appear in your computer splash screen from the Screens VNC app interface. You can tap on it to begin connecting to it.
11) Because you gave Screens VNC your username and password, you won’t need to log in; it does it automatically for you. Screens VNC will begin downloading your Mac or PC’s display:
12) And once it’s ready, you’ll see your Mac’s screen on your iOS device’s display:
That’s all there is to it! You have connected to your Mac with the Screens VNC app by Edovia, and now you can control your Mac remotely without having to be sitting next to it.
To disconnect, you can tap on the Share button at the bottom right of the app, and then tap on the Disconnect button:
More things to know about Screens VNCScreens VNC is a great VNC client for iOS, and at $19.99, you should expect no less than the best.
The app supports multi-touch and various other gestures for inputting information into your Mac. It even includes its own keyboard, as well as dedicated OS X-like shortcut buttons across the bottom of the app. With these tools, you can operate your Mac just like if you were sitting right next to it.
It’s possible to set up a DNS server with your Mac and access your Mac with Screens VNC even when you’re not connected to the same Wi-Fi network, so with that in mind, it is just as powerful as apps like TeamViewer, but requires a little more time to configure. Depending on your knowledge of networking, setting up a DNS server may or may not be outside of your comfort zone.
Wrapping upScreens VNC is my favorite remote desktop software for my iOS devices, and it has a great front end design on not only the iOS platform, but also on the Mac. It’s a piece of software that does cost a bit of dime at $19.99 from the App Store, but I’ve been using it for years and I must say I don’t regret buying it one bit.

How To Remove Adobe Flash From Your Mac
After finding many vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash, and with the number of vulnerabilities only increasing, it is not recommended to use the tool on your computers anymore. While it was not possible to live without Flash a few years ago, things have changed now as most web services have adapted HTML5, replacing the once-popular Adobe Flash. Therefore, you can access almost all of the contents on the Web without needing Adobe Flash.
Now that you don’t need this tool anymore, you might want to remove it from your machine. Uninstalling Adobe Flash from a Mac is fairly easy.
Removing Adobe Flash from a MacYou do not need a third-party app to do this.
3. When Flash launches, it will give you two options to choose from – Quit and Uninstall. Choose “Uninstall.”
7. The uninstall process wI’ll initiate, and you should see the following on your screen. It indicates the Adobe Flash utility is being removed from your system.
From now on, you will longer be able to see any content that is based on Flash – there are not many, though, as most contents is now available in other standards and not on Flash, so you should have no issues.
ConclusionIf you find Adobe Flash on your Mac to be a threat to the security of your machine, you can follow the above guide to get that utility removed from your machine.
