Suggested January 2024 How To Transfer Text Messages From Android To Iphone
In his recent interactions, Tim Cook shared that the iPhone has 50% new buyers. This means one out of two iPhone buyers in 2023 shifted from Android. If you are one of them, you might be figuring out how you can transfer text messages from Android to your iPhone. Don’t worry! I got your back.
To help you with the transition process, I listed different ways to transfer your Android messages to your iPhone. Let’s have a look.
Transfer text messages from Android to iPhone using Move to iOS app
Ensure you have the ‘Move to iOS’ app on your Android device. If not, download it from here.
When starting your iPhone, you’ll be prompted to transfer data after connecting to a WiFi network. Select ‘Move Data from Android.’
The following screen will display a six or ten-digit code on your iPhone screen.
Open the ‘Move to iOS’ app on your Android device. Moving further, enter the code when prompted.
After authentication, you’ll be redirected to the transfer window. Here, you’ll find a list of things that can be transferred. Select Messages and tap Continue/Next.
Note:
Keep your Android and iPhone devices next to each other.
The transfer will take some time, depending on your internet speed and the files’ size. You’ll be notified once completed.
Move text messages from Android to iPhone using MobileTrans
Download and install MobileTrans on your Windows or macOS device.
Once installed, launch the desktop application and select ‘Phone Transfer.‘
Now connect your Android and iPhone using a USB/lightning cable. Remember, since you are transferring data from Android to iPhone, keep the former as Source and the latter as Destination.
Select the data you want to transfer. In this scenario, we’ll select Messages only.
You do have other desktop applications apart from MobileTrans, including DroidTrans, BackupTrans, etc. However, MobileTrans has a hefty list of users that trust its functionality. Do you know why?
Why use MobileTrans instead of others?
Some of the key benefits of using MobileTrans are;
Transfer over 15 data types.
Whatsapp transfer.
Data Backup and Data Restore.
Easy to use interface.
Also, read our in-depth review of MobileTrans.
If you don’t want to use the two ways mentioned above, you have the option to transfer messages wirelessly using a third-party app, ‘Send Anywhere.’ You can install it from the Play Store and App Store.
Transfer messages wirelessly using a third-party app
Now select the Send option.
In the following window, select the files you wish to transfer and tap Send.
This will generate a code on your device.
Now, open the Send Anywhere app on your iPhone, choose Receive, and enter the same six-digit code.
Once entered, tap the receive button to initiate the transfer.
Export text messages from Android to iPhone
None of the above steps helped you to transfer messages? You can export text messages using third-party apps available on the Play Store. Some of the apps that can serve your purpose include SMS Backup & Restore, SMS Backup+, Easy Backup, etc.
However, there’s no dedicated app to import SMS on the iPhone. Hence, once you are done with exporting messages, you can keep the CSV, PDF, XML files on your iPhone. This can be viewed anytime in the future using apps like CSV.
FAQ: Can I use ‘Move to iOS’ after setting up the iPhone?I’m afraid that the app can only be used with new iPhones or those that have been reset. If you want to make the transfer using the app on your old iPhone, you’ll have to reset your device first.
Where are text messages stored on the iPhone?Your transferred messages will be stored in the iPhone’s Messages app. Besides this, you can also access them on your iCloud account.
Transfer text messages from Android to iPhone effortlessly!I come across people who intend to switch to iPhone but are concerned about their Android devices’ data. I hope these steps helped you step out of the dark zone and become a proud iPhone user with your data in place.

Transfer Contacts From Android To Iphone The Easy Way
Moving all contacts from an Android to an iPhone may sound complicated, but it’s actually really easy. What you’ll need to do is sync the entire address book from the Android device to Google’s cloud Contacts service, and then use Google Contacts service to transfer them to the iPhone. The result is that you’ll have the same contact list synced between both devices, which is great for permanent migration and transferring the contacts over to iOS, but also for temporary transitions between the two mobile operating systems.
Requirements are simple enough: you’ll need access to the Android device and an iPhone. You will also need a Google account to be able to do this, which if you have an Android phone you almost certainly already have a google login. Nonetheless, if you don’t you can create one during the process to sync all the contact information to, which can then be retrieved from iOS. We’re focusing on Android smartphones and the iPhone, but this process would work the same with Android tablets and the iPad or iPod touch too.
Step 1: Sync the Android Contacts to Google Contacts
Requirements are simple enough: you’ll need access to the Android device and an iPhone. You will also need a Google account to be able to do this, which if you have an Android phone you almost certainly already have a google login. Nonetheless, if you don’t you can create one during the process to sync all the contact information to, which can then be retrieved from iOS. We’re focusing on Android smartphones and the iPhone, but this process would work the same with Android tablets and the iPad or iPod touch too.
This step is done from the Android, and will transfer the contacts from the Android to Google:
Open Settings, then go to “Accounts & Sync”, and ten tap on the Google account (side note: if you don’t have a Google account, tap on “Add Account” to set up a new one for this purpose)
Tap on “Sync Contacts” (or Sync All if you want to sync everything) and let the syncing process complete, this may take a few minutes if you have a very large address book
Now that the contacts have been synced between Android phone to Google’s servers, you can now sync the same contacts from Google to the iPhone.
Step 2: Sync the Google Contacts to the iPhoneThis is done from the iPhone, and will transfer the contacts from Google to the iPhone:
Open “Settings” then go to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and choose “Add Account”
Select “Other” and look under “Contacts” to choose “Add CardDav Account”
Enter the following details into the fields, then tap “Next”
Password: your password
Syncing starts immediately, exit out of Settings and launch the “Contacts” app to check on the progress, the entire process may take a while for large address books
That’s really all there is to it, it works the same on all versions of iOS and has been tested in both iOS 6 and iOS 7.
If you run into any syncing issues on the iPhone, go back into Settings for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and check to be sure that the account syncing settings are configured to use SSL with port 443. This usually happens by default with auto detection, but it’s not unheard of for those settings to not set themselves properly.
Because the iPhone and Android are now synced to the same Google Contacts service, any changes on either device will sync over to the other, preventing you from having to make changes to each device unless one has been disconnected. This means the same trick can be used to move contacts back from the iPhone to Android, though there are other ways to do that as well, including using the very handy iCloud Contacts exporter service, or for just sharing individual contacts as a Vcard. Finally, if you’re an OS X user you can also sync everything else, like mail, calendars, and even notes between a Mac and Android too.

How To Mute Group Text Messages In Android 11
Group text grants you the ability to easily communicate between multiple people, which is especially useful in a professional setting. However, there are times when it turns from friendly banter to an obnoxious riot. Not only can the influx of messages drain your battery, but it can also eat up your data. Can’t you just leave the group? Of course, you can! Maybe.
For one, abruptly leaving a group chat might be considered rude by other parties. You can’t just excuse yourself when all of your other relatives are a member of the group. They may take it the wrong way.
You also may not physically (or virtually in this case) be able to leave. Some messaging apps on Android won’t let you leave the group no matter what. The only way to be removed is to ask the group’s admin to do it for you.
Fortunately, you can opt to mute the group chat instead. This way, you won’t receive any notifications from the group, but you can still view the messages if you want to. This is a handy feature provided by all messaging apps so that you don’t have to take drastic measures, like turning off your phone, to deal with other people’s inability to maintain air silence.
Mute Group Text on Android MessagesFirst, we will start off with Android Messages, the built-in messaging app for most Android OS devices, including Google Pixels. Here’s what you need to do.
Open up the Messages app. If you have trouble finding the app, the logo is a white speech balloon on a blue circle background.
From the Messages’ home screen, select the designated group conversation you want to mute.
Once you open the group’s conversations in full screen, tap on the three vertical dots icon on the top-right corner to open up a dropdown menu.
Choose People & Options from the list of options.
Toggle the Notifications switch to off. You can unmute the group anytime by turning the switch back on.(Images needed for these steps)
Mute Group Text on WhatsAppWhatsApp Messenger is one of the most— if not the most—popular messaging apps. With approximately 2 billion active users, there’s a decent chance you already have this app installed on your phone. To mute a group text on WhatsApp, you need to:
Open WhatsApp, then tap on the CHATS tab located at the top part of your screen, just beside the camera icon.
From the list of groups or individual conversations, tap the group you wish to mute.
Select Mute Notifications from the dropdown menu.
Using WhatsApp, you can choose how long you wish to keep the group chat on mute. If you simply need to mute the group momentarily during an important meeting or class, the 8 Hours option is probably enough. Otherwise, if you feel that the group will bother you for a long time, the 1 Week or 1 Year option might do the trick.
Make sure that Show Notifications is left unchecked. Should you check the box instead, the group messages will come to you through the notification bar. However, you won’t receive any kind of audible alert.
Once you are satisfied with your option, tap OK.
You can unmute any group text by tapping on the same three vertical dots icon and selecting Unmute Notifications.
Additionally, with WhatsApp, you can also exit a group chat if necessary.
Under the CHATS tab, tap on the group you wish to exit.
Once the group’s conversation is open, tap on the name of the group at the top screen to look at the group’s info.
Tap on Exit.
Mute Group Text on Telegram
Open the Telegram app.
Select which group you want to mute from the home screen.
Tap Mute Notifications, then choose for how long you want to mute the conversation.
If you wish to permanently silence notifications from the group, select Disable.
Final ThoughtsWhen someone exits a group, all of its other members can see it. In today’s day and age, this can make things a little awkward. Social media connectivity is taken almost as seriously as in-person interaction. That’s why opting to mute a group chat instead is a great alternative to mitigate any possible issues.
How To Block Unwanted Text Messages On Your Iphone, Ipad And Mac
We’ve all been there: sitting and working on our devices when we randomly get a message from an unknown sender. The message usually varies from a sales pitch to a dating request. You can choose to ignore it, but if you start receiving messages repeatedly from the same number, it can be very annoying. Fortunately, blocking messages from a specific sender is very easy on iOS but, it is a bit of a lengthier process on macOS.
Both methods are detailed below.
How to Block Messages on iOSBlocking messages on iOS is very easy. You just need to select the contact information and choose the option to “Block the caller.”
1. In the Messages app, open the message/conversation from the sender that you want to block.
2. Tap on the contact at the top of the conversion.
3. Tap on the small Info button next to it.
That’s it. Do note that this contact will still be able to send you a voicemail, but you won’t get a notification about it. Also, they won’t know that you’ve blocked them, but any messages sent by you or them won’t get delivered.
This method also works for blocking messages by corporate brands (sent by a 5 digit number), so you can easily block all unwanted sale messages.
How to Block Messages on macOSIf you’ve tried blocking a number in the Messages app on macOS, you may have noticed that there is no direct option to do so. Blocking messages from a sender on macOS is a bit more tedious, since you can’t directly block a sender. Instead, the sender’s phone number / iMessage email address has to be added as a contact first before it can be blocked. The method is a bit longer but works just as well. We hope Apple considers a more simpler solution like the one for iOS.
1. Open up the Messages app on macOS, and select the conversation with the sender you want to block.
3. Save the number as a contact. We’d recommend using some random name, such as “Blocked.”
That’s it. It’s also worth noting that if your iPhone/Mac share the same Apple ID, blocking an address / phone number on any one device will result in it automatically being blocked on each device using the same Apple ID with Messages. That’s why we recommend using the iOS method described above, as it’s much easier and simpler.

5 Ways To Lock Text Messages On Iphone And Ipad
To prevent others from seeing your private chats or messages.
To prevent someone who has access to your iPhone from sending texts without your knowledge.
To avoid unauthorized access to financial text messages, including transaction OTPs which may lead to fraud if fallen into the wrong hands.
On Android, you can use the built-in option to lock applications (if available) or rely on third-party app lockers. However, things are different on iOS. There’s no preloaded app locker, and third-party apps won’t work due to system restrictions.
Before we start, make sure a passcode or password protects your iPhone. The lock screen passcode prevents unauthorized access and shields you from anyone trying to check messages, photos, or other personal data on the device. You’d also need it for some of the methods mentioned below. Here’s how you can set up a lock screen passcode on your iPhone or iPad:
1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
4. Enter a 6-digit passcode. You also can tap Password Options to switch to 4-digit passcode or a custom alphanumeric code.
5. Verify the passcode again when prompted.
Your iPhone will now ask you to enter the passcode when unlocking your iPhone after a restart, updating the software, connecting the device to a computer, installing iOS configuration profiles, and more, making it more private and secure.
Step 1- Set a Timer in the Clock App1. Open the Clock app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Switch to the Timer tab from the bottom menu.
Step 2- Create an Automation in Shortcuts App5. Now, open the Shortcuts app on the device.
6. Switch to the Automation tab and tap the + icon.
Step 3- Add the Timer to the Automation13. Search for “timer” and select Start Timer.
14. Tap the number next to Start timer for. Change it to 1.
15. Then tap on Minutes and change it to Seconds.
17. Uncheck the toggle for Ask Before Running. Hit Don’t Ask when prompted.
18. Also, ensure Notify When Run is disabled. Tap Done on the top right.
That’s it. When you open Messages, it will automatically lock your iPhone within one second. You must now use your FaceID or enter the iPhone passcode to read the text messages.
The shortcut will run every single time you open the Messages app. And you no longer have to worry about a third-party accessing text messages without your consent. All they have is about a second or two to read your private texts.
1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Scroll down and tap on Screen Time.
6. Tap Remove to confirm when prompted.
7. Go back to the Screen Time menu. Tap the App Limits option and select Add Limit.
8. Choose the Social category and select the Messages app (and any other apps you want to lock).
10. Enable the toggle that says Block at End of Limit. You won’t find the option if you have not added a passcode to Screen Time.
Now, open Messages and use it for 1 minute, post which Screen Time will automatically lock you out of the app, saying, “You’ve reached your limit on Messages.”
This way, you can lock the Messages app with a passcode using the Screen Time feature. Just make sure to use the Messages app for a minute to trigger the time limit before you share your iPhone with kids, friends, or any other family member. You can use the same technique to lock other apps on your iPhone.
By default, iPhone shows a preview notification for all text messages. The message not only appears as a banner but is also visible on the lock screen. Here’s how you can hide messages from the iOS lock screen and prevent others from reading the text:
1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and select Messages.
This will hide the message notifications from your iPhone lock screen.
5. Select Never to turn message previews off on iPhone. You can also keep it to When Unlocked (Default), provided only you can unlock your iPhone.
By default, anyone knowing your Apple ID credentials can log in to your iCloud dashboard and read all your messages (provided you’ve set up iCloud for Messages). To prevent it, you can enable two-factor authentication, which will send a verification code on devices you’re logged into before allowing login.
1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
3. On the next screen, tap Turn On Two-Factor Authentication.
Several tweaks like ChatLock, ComvoProtect, and more let you integrate the lock feature inside Messages (and other chatting apps). You can use the jailbreak tweaks to lock individual texts in the Messages app on your iPhone.
After you lock a conversation, you won’t be able to read its content until you unlock it with FaceID, TouchID, or a password. Most jailbreak tweaks are paid and work only on older iOS versions, but again, it’s something to explore if you’re familiar with and have previously jailbroken an iPhone.
If iMessage sync is enabled, the messages are synchronized across all your Apple devices (where you’re logged in with your Apple ID). This may pose a privacy risk if one of the devices is in the hands of someone you don’t want to share your personal data with.
For instance, if you have an iPad at home for kids or family members, they can see the synced texts if your Apple ID is logged onto the device. Here’s how you can turn off iCloud sync for iMessage:
2. Tap your Apple account name on the top and select iCloud.
3. Tap Show All to see the full list of apps using iCloud.
Any messages you send or receive from your iPhone or iPad will no longer be synchronized with your Apple other devices.
Here’s how to send an invisible ink message on your iPhone:
1. Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
2. Open a new or existing chat with the person you want to send an invisible message.
3. Type a message or insert an image. Then, touch and hold the upward arrow button.
5. Tap the upward arrow to send the message with invisible ink.
The message will appear as scribbled by default, and anyone trying to peep into your iPhone screen will not be able to see it. It will only be visible when you (or the receiver) tap and hold the message.
Instant-messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Signal offer a built-in option to lock the application. You can use the feature to lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.
You can check out the detailed guide to lock WhatsApp and secure Telegram chats with Touch ID or passcode.
