How To Uninstall Meet Now From Windows 10

With the release of the Windows 10 May 2023 update, Microsoft made a lot of new changes that didn’t go down well with many users. The company changed how the Alt+Tab app switcher worked and changed the appearance and size of tasks in the overview menu. So we wrote a detailed guide on how to restore the old Alt+Tab switcher in Windows 10. And now, Microsoft has presented us with another problem, i.e. Meet Now has been permanently added to the Windows 10 Taskbar — something that people didn’t even ask for. So if you wish to uninstall Meet Now from Windows 10, follow our guide below.

Permanently Uninstall Meet Now From Windows 10 (2024)

In this tutorial, we have mentioned four ways to uninstall Meet Now from Windows 10. You can hide, disable, or uninstall Meet Now from Windows 10’s Taskbar. Expand the table below and move to any section you want.

What is the Meet Now Icon in Windows 10’s Taskbar?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft has been putting in efforts to make people use its own video calling solution instead of Zoom or Google Meet. Meet Now is an instant video conferencing solution, which is powered by Skype, and is integrated within Windows 10. Right from the Taskbar, you can now start a meeting and share the link with your family members, friends, or colleagues. It’s entirely free and supports up to 100 participants in a single Meet Now link.

It supports all standard video conferencing features like custom backgrounds, Grid view, etc. Not to mention, participants can directly join the call without requiring a Microsoft account. Having said that, many users don’t prefer Microsoft’s video conferencing platform and want to get rid of the Meet Now icon in the Taskbar. Also, it constantly runs in the background and eats up major system resources. So if you want to uninstall Meet Now from Windows 10, follow our tutorial below.

Hide Meet Now From Windows 10 Using Settings

3. Now, scroll to the bottom and disable the “Meet Now” toggle. This will remove Meet Now from Windows 10’s Taskbar.

Uninstall Meet Now From Windows 10 Using PowerShell

If you want to completely uninstall Meet Now from Windows 10, you will need to use a simple command in PowerShell. It will remove the APPX package for this app from your PC right away. Here are the steps to follow.

2. In the PowerShell window, run the below command and hit Enter. This will uninstall Meet Now from your Windows 10 PC right away. You are done.

DISM /Online /Remove-ProvisionedAppxPackage /PackageName:Microsoft.SkypeApp_14.53.77.0_neutral_~_kzf8qxf38zg5c Remove Meet Now From Windows 10 Using Group Policy

To permanently uninstall Meet now from Windows 10, we will use Group Policy Editor. Unfortunately, Group Policy Editor is not available on Windows 10 Home, but there is a workaround to enable it. So go ahead and enable Group Policy Editor on Windows 10 Home to use this method. If you are on Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or any other edition, simply go through the steps below:

6. Now, restart your computer, and Meet Now will be gone from Windows 10 for good. That’s it.

7. In case you want to enable it once again, follow the steps above and choose “Not Configured” in step #5.

Disable Meet Now From Windows 10 Using Registry Editor

1. In case you want to permanently disable Meet Now from Windows 10 Taskbar, you can do so with Registry Editor. Press the Windows 10 keyboard shortcut “Windows + R” to open the Run prompt. Here, type regedit and hit Enter.

4. Rename the new key to HideSCAMeetNow.

6. Now, close the Registry Editor and restart your Windows 10 PC. You will find that Meet Now is nowhere to be found on your PC.

How To Unlock Fade In Apex Legends Mobile

After multiple beta tests over the past year, Apex Legends Mobile has launched globally to much fanfare. This hero-based shooter brings to mobile the same fast-paced battle royale experience as its PC and console counterparts. While most of the mechanics and characters in-game are similar, this mobile port comes with a new mobile-exclusive legend called Fade. Now, if you have downloaded Apex Legends Mobile and want to play Fade right away, here are two methods you can use to unlock Fade.

Unlock Apex Legends Mobile Fade (2024)

The starting roster of characters in Apex Legends Mobile includes only Bloodhound. You unlock Octane for free via the store, followed by Lifeline after completing a match and leveling up your account. You can unlock all the other legends if you level up your account to Level 24, except Fade. So let’s see how you can get Fade in this game:

How to Unlock Fade for Free in Apex Mobile

Apex Legends Mobile supports two ways of unlocking Fade – one free and the other paid. The free method requires you to play the game regularly and grind the free battle pass tier. By completing missions and leveling up the battle pass, you receive Fade Piece. You need to collect 10 Fade Pieces, which you can then use to unlock the legend in-game.

The game offers you two Fade Pieces for free at the following battle pass levels – 1, 9, 13, 17, and 25. So yeah, you will need to complete the missions and make your way through 25 battle pass levels to unlock Fade.

How to Unlock Fade without Any Wait (Paid)

As you can see in the screenshot, you will need to spend 750 Syndicate Gold to unlock Fade. You have to spend at least $14.99 or Rs 899 to get 935 Syndicate Gold coins in the game. This will enable you to gain access to this mobile-exclusive legend and start using phase technology in a slightly different way compared to Wraith. Follow these steps to unlock Fade:

1. Once you have either hit the battle pass level 25 or bought the required currency, head to the “Legends” tab from the bottom bar.

2. Then, select “Fade” from among the legends and tap on the “Unlock” button.

3. You can now choose whether you wish to unlock the legend using Fade Piece or Syndicate Gold. And that’s it.

Check out Fade’s Abilities

Passive Ability: Slipstream – Fade gains a short momentum boost at the end of a slide. You will see an increase in movement speed when you start running after a slide input.

Tactical Ability: Flash Back – This is another take on Wraith’s phase ability. You can teleport back to your previous location from a while ago (two seconds) using this ability. It could prove beneficial while pushing enemies and making initial plays for your team.

Ultimate Ability: Phase Chamber – This is a throwable grenade that sends characters within its range into the void for 3.5 seconds before they are back on the battlefield again. You cannot shoot the enemy while they’re in the void, nor can they shoot you. Also, if you get caught in there with them, you both cannot shoot each other but move around freely. This ability could be useful to quickly disengage fights.

How To Uninstall Avg Toolbar?

AVG as a product has fallen from the grace of the users worryingly, with various vulnerabilities and errors that plague the users. AVG came into criticism in 2012, where the AVG toolbar used to get installed on the desktop computers without the consent of the users.

This was seen as a serious breach of trust among the users, as the toolbar was virtually impossible to remove from Windows. Here, I shall discuss how to uninstall the AVG toolbar from your computer.

Although it comes from a subsidiary of the popular Avast technologies, it is considered as a potentially unwanted program. The toolbar is installed from outside the browser, which makes removing AVG safeguard toolbar fairly difficult for the users.

Since the toolbar is not part of the browser, you will find it nearly impossible to remove the AVG toolbar from within the browser. However, you can disable the toolbar in the browser, and then uninstall it using the control panel or third party uninstallers.

Even if you use other popular browsers as default, you will require to open the Internet Explorer and disable the toolbar there. This might be due to the fact that most of the internet settings are still routed via the Internet Explorer app.

To disable the toolbar in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

In Windows Search (Win + S), type Internet Explorer.

You will see the AVG secure toolbar just under the address bar.

This will disable the toolbar and prevent it from running when the app is launched alongside the browser.

You will need to uninstall the toolbar next, in order to prevent it from launching itself again, or preventing AVG from collecting data. Follow these steps for the same:

Open Windows Search as mentioned above.

Go to the Programs and Features You will see the list of installed applications.

Although AVG is not exactly malware, the way the toolbar performs is similar to malware. You will use the Junkware Removal Tool from Malwarebytes, which is used to remove browser hijackers from web browsers.

Use the following link to download Junkware Removal Tool from Malwarebytes.

The JRT will open in a command prompt window, and ask for a key input.

Follow the on-screen instructions, as the program searches for adwares, PUPs, and junk applications installed on your computer.

Wait for the tool to search for the problematic files, and remove them as well. Once the process finishes, you will see a log, displaying the malicious files and registry keys removed from your computer.

NOTE: If you do not want to individually run Steps 2 and 3, you can use a third-party uninstaller like IObit and Revo to uninstall the AVG toolbar from your computer.

Once you have successfully completed AVG toolbar removal, it is time to run a malware scan. If you have a third-party premium antivirus software, you should be able to use the malware scan built into the software for the same. If not, you can use free antimalware programs like Malwarebytes.

Run a malware scan and remove any apps and files that may cause harm to your computer and your data.

So there you have it. Now you know how to remove the AVG toolbar from your computer using the steps provided above. Comment below if you found this useful, and to discuss further the same.

How To Easily Batch Uninstall Apps On Android

Have you ever filled up the available space in your Android phone storage and couldn’t download an app you want to install? Of course you have. We all have. Going through and selecting the apps you want to delete to make more space for the new one can be tedious if you have to go through them one by one. It’s much faster to batch uninstall apps and remove all unwanted apps at once.

Multi App Uninstaller

There are many different apps that will do this for you. The one I prefer is called Multi App Uninstaller. It’s fast, easy to use and ad-free, so pretty much a no-brainer to use.

This app gives the user some different options for deleting unwanted apps from your phone. Some are functional, and some are there to appeal to different users’ preferences. These options are at the top of the screen, and look like the following image.

By pressing the sort icon at the bottom left of the screen, you can choose to display your apps in either descending or ascending order by name, size, or install date.

Select All

At the bottom right corner of the screen, you’ll see a square icon that lets you select every single app on your phone. Obviously be careful when doing this, because you’re just another tap from batch-uninstalling all your apps (though Multi App Uninstaller does ask to confirm the uninstallation of each individual app, at least).

Tapping the three-dot options icon at the top right lets you change the layout of the apps on your screen between a list view and a grid view.

From this menu you can also switch the app to Dark mode.

How to Use Multi App Uninstaller

Locate and download the app to your device. When you open the app, Multi App Uninstaller will read your library of apps and display them for you. The icons are large and easily visible.

To delete multiple apps:

From the main Multi App Uninstaller screen, simply tap each app you want to uninstall one by one (or, if you want to uninstall most of your apps, tap the square icon at the bottom right corner to select all, then tap each app that you want to keep).

Tap the trash can icon at the bottom of the screen.

The app will ask you to verify that you want to uninstall these apps. The app checks each request to uninstall an app individually to eliminate errors that may cause unwanted uninstalls. Press OK each time.

As soon as you you confirm one uninstall, the next app in the queue will be shown for you to verify.

Once Multi App Uninstaller has completed all of your uninstalls, the app will return you to the main screen.

Multi App Uninstaller easily and efficiently batch uninstalls all your unwanted applications to make room for new, exciting replacements. How To Completely Uninstall An App On Mac

Depending on the application and the installation method, you may be able to completely uninstall an application from macOS by simply dragging the .app bundle into the trash. However, that typically leaves behind at least a few preference files. In some cases it can leave behind gigabytes of data.

On macOS, applications generally like to stay inside their .app bundle. Compare this to Windows, where an installer can spew files across the system in dozens of arbitrary locations. Although, this happens with some Mac apps as well, as you’ll see if you try to manually uninstall more complex applications.

If possible, you should always default to using the applications uninstaller, if it has one. Applications with web service components, like Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office 365, should be removed according to the instructions on the developer’s website. If there is no uninstaller application or uninstall procedure, you can remove the application yourself. It just might take a little while, unless you don’t mind paying a few dollars to have it taken care of for you.

Method One: App Cleaner

The easiest way to completely uninstall a game on the Mac is with App Cleaner. It works by searching for files associated with the app bundle and deleting everything together at the same time. You can download and install App Cleaner for free, but it costs $10 to unlock the core file-deletion functionality. With the free version of App Cleaner, you can search for apps but not uninstall them.

If you’re looking for a free option, there is a free, similarly-named program, AppCleaner, that performs similarly but not identically to the paid App Cleaner.

1. Open App Cleaner.

2. Type the name of the app you want to delete in the search bar at the bottom of the app list.

3. Check the box next to the application to mark it and its associated files for deletion.

4. If you want to completely uninstall more than one app, you can search for another app and check it too. Both will be uninstalled in the last step.

6. Empty the Trash in Finder to remove the files from the disk completely, and you’re done.

Option 2: Manual Uninstall

App Cleaner is useful because not all applications are entirely contained within their app bundles. While some apps can be deleted simply by deleting the .app bundle, not all apps are so well-organized or simplistic.

Many apps, especially powerful apps, can sprawl across your system, depositing files in a variety of “~/Library/” folders. In this way developers have managed to import our least favorite Windows feature: installer vomit.

Possible Library Folder Locations

To completely uninstall an app from macOS manually, you’ll need to look for files associated with the application in the following folders. Within each folder, look for the name of the application and the name of the company that created it. For example, if you were trying to uninstall Word manually, you would look for both Word and Microsoft.

/Library/Application Support

~/Library/Application Support

Additional Locations

You’ll also need to look for any related kernel extensions. Known as “kexts,” kernel extensions are the drivers of the macOS world. A kext extends the communication ability of the kernel, adding new methods of interfacing with the system. You’ll find them installed in “/System/Library/Extensions,” and you’ll need to search thoroughly for anything related to your application. When you’re ready to remove the kexts, you’ll need to use sudo rm.

You may also find files in the “~/Documents/” folder. This is especially true of applications and games that are ported from Windows to macOS. Storing user files in the Documents folder is a standard, and perhaps annoying, behavior on Windows, and that’s easily transferred to macOS.

Other more complex applications can deposit files in less typical locations. If you install a different shell, for example, you’ll find hidden files and folders associated with that shell in your home directory. With Finder foremost, press Command + Shift + . to reveal hidden folders. Delete any associated files or folders from your home directory.

In most cases simply deleting the app bundle is enough to uninstall an app from your Mac. Complete removal is best when the app has large helper files, or you’re attempting to fix some sort of problem by reinstalling the application.
