You can check whether these vulnerabilities could impact your system or not with the help of Intel CSME Version Detection Tool. This tool is available for download on the official website of Intel. After downloading this tool, extract the downloaded folder and then open the GUI folder. Now, run the EXE file. If the results say that your system is vulnerable, you should update Intel ME. If there is no vulnerability detected by this tool, there is no need to update Intel ME. However, you can check for the update If the update is available, you can install it.

Do note that, you can download the latest update patch for Intel ME only from the official website of your computer manufacturer. 2] Reset the keyboard

Remove the keyboard plug and let it be at rest for at least 2-3 minutes. Now plug the keyboard black while pressing the Esc key, and release it after 5 seconds. Your keyboard will flash, implementing that the procedure was successful. Now, see if you can update the firmware or not.

3] Switch the keyboard plug to the Motherboards USB slot

Sometimes, in a hurry, we plug the keyboard in the wrong slots, so before going further in this troubleshooting guide, make sure that the keyboard is plugged into the front or rear motherboard I/O USB slots. Once you have done that, open the iCUE software v4 or v5, and then try to update it now. Hopefully, the keyboard will be updated; if not, see the next solutions.

4] Install the update manually

There are various instances where software cannot detect updates, and in turn, fail to install and update the software to its latest version. In such instances, we can manually install and update the Firmware.

Before that, you need to download the following zip files from their respective URLs.

To manually update the keyboard, execute the steps mentioned below:

Download the zip files, cut off the Internet, and now plug the K100 RGB through a wired USB.

Launch iCUE, navigate to its settings, and switch the polling rate to 1000hz.

Select the Check for updates option present beside the firmware name, and the Failde status will appear on the screen.

And your keyboard will be manually updated. No update failed status on the screen. However, if it comes back after some time, follow the solutions mentioned below.

5] Repair the iCUE app

Any issues regarding the software can also stop its updating process, and the same can be said about Corsair software. Therefore, it’s better to rule out this mishap if the update failed.

6] Reinstall the iCUE app

If repairing the software can not help you in resolving the update failed status, then download a fresh installation of the app. To do so, follow the steps prescribed mentioned below.

Go to the Start menu and search Control Panel.

Delete it.

Select and delete the Corsair file here, reopen the Run dialogue box, and now type %localappdata%, and do the same.

For iCUE 3, go to C:Program Files x86, and for iCUE 4, C:Program Files, and again, delete the Corsair files.

 Once more open the Run box, type Regedit, navigate to the following location, and find and delete the Corsair folder. HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware

After this, go to the location mentioned below and delete the Corsair folder. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE

Finally, reboot the PC, and then once it restarts, go to the iCUE download page and install it.

Check if the issue is resolved.

How To Accelerate Byod With Mobile Device Management

When IT managers consider mobile device strategies, they often consider Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), where end users simply use whatever smartphone they’ve already got, with a “hands-off” strategy. That’s in contrast to Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) or Company-Owned/Personally Enabled (COPE) programs, where enterprise IT takes full responsibility for managing things.

The reason BYOD is hands-off is simple: IT managers don’t want to take on the bewilderingly unpredictable responsibility of support and configuration for every possible smartphone that might show up in the workplace. And that’s a pretty reasonable concern. But it also might be looking at the problem backward. If an employee insists on using a smartphone that is so old, unusual or incompatible that you can’t support it — maybe they shouldn’t be handling sensitive enterprise information with that device in the first place.

Now take this one step further: If a device can’t be supported, that doesn’t mean that you’re not going to get support calls. If a device is completely out-of-date, it’s likely got a user who wants to get work done, but can’t, because they’re fiddling around with a smartphone that simply isn’t capable of what they need. That ultimately creates considerably more work for you and for them.

The Case For MDM: Minimum Device Management

An alternative to completely unsupervised, potentially time-wasting BYOD failures is to consider Mobile Device Management (MDM) as a minimum bar for participation in your BYOD program. In other words, if a device can’t be connected to a basic MDM system, it’s probably not a good idea to bring that device into the BYOD ecosystem. Remember that BYOD exists for a reason: It allows people to be productive in a more mobile and flexible environment than sitting down at their desk in the office, or their laptop everywhere else. If you’re not delivering that productivity and convenience, then your BYOD program is not meeting its goals.

MDM compatibility as a basic requirement for BYOD isn’t a particularly difficult standard to set. Most enterprises will be using some variation on Microsoft Exchange, which enables an agent that includes basic MDM features when the smartphone or tablet is connected. And if you have a more full-featured MDM or Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) tool, even better.

Having MDM as a requirement for linking a smartphone ensures that operating systems are of recent vintage, which helps with security, and that the smartphone can handle the enterprise applications used in BYOD. That usually includes (at least) basic office communication tools such as email, calendar and contacts, as well as some type of audio or video conferencing application.

If the device is current enough to run modern applications, the user experience is going to be better all the way around. It’s not just the BYOD user that matters. BYOD enables collaboration, so a bad BYOD user experience contaminates everyone else. You don’t want to have one user on an outdated or incompatible device causing issues with other staff members as they try to participate in a video conference or missing meetings because their calendar is not updating properly.

By setting MDM compatibility as a basic requirement, though, you do much more than establish that the device is mainstream enough and modern enough to be connected to critical enterprise applications. You get some basic and important controls: minimum password lengths and lock times, application store restrictions, and remote wipe and lock capability.

The Basics Remain Necessities

Using MDM as a basic gateway to BYOD enrollment also saves time. When a user links their BYOD smartphone to enterprise MDM, you’ve got instant control of the operating system and application features you consider vital to basic enterprise security. There’s no need for the user to bring the device in to have someone at the help desk puzzle over settings and try to catch everything, because the MDM tool handles that quickly and generally in a manner independent of operating system or version.

Creating a document that tells BYOD users some basic security features to set and policies to follow is a good first step, but these documents are also easily ignored or forgotten by busy, disinterested end users. MDM lets you take those basic settings and actually enforce them, which will accelerate deployment, facilitate audits and promote best practice security hygiene all at the same time.

How To Update Lg G4 To Marshmallow Android 6.0 Update With Stock Rom 20A

We earlier shared the LG G4 Marshmallow update’s KDZ file with you, which comes with software version H81520A. Here you will find the TWRP recovery flashable ZIP file, which was way easier to install using TWRP recovery, and are way more helpful when we’re finding trouble flashing KDZ files.

Below you will find all required links to help you install TWRP recovery, for which you will have to unlock your LG G4’s bootloader first, using LG’s own tool.

Which is why this method is only useful to you if your G4 is bootloader unlock-able from LG. At the moment, only international G4 sets are allowed by LG to be unlocked, so this is essentially Marshmallow update for those devices only.

Info: The TWRP flashable Marshmallow update we’ve here is 100% stock, and unrooted. For root, see here. Simply flashing the SuperSU file won’t do the trick. If you do that, you will soft brick your device, and will have to flash the files here again to recover it.

Use the Droid Info app, to determine the model no. of your LG G4. If it is exactly the one specified above, then it should be compatible with the 6.0 custom ROM we have here.

How to Install

Required: You will need to have TWRP recovery installed on your device to be able to install H81520A stock ROM. Check out our page on LG G4 TWRP recovery for this.

Step 1. Download the Marshmallow ROM files from above.

Step 2. Connect your device to PC and transfer all four files (system, modem, boot and bootloader) file to it. Disconnect the device then. Remember the location of the files.

Step 3. Boot your LG G4 into recovery mode. If you are rooted, you can use Quick Boot app from play store.

You will enter recovery mode soon, and should see TWRP recovery. If you see an Android with an exclamation mark, then you need to install TWRP recovery for this (linked above).

Step 4. [Optional] Once in TWRP, create a backup of your device. Tap on Backup, and then select all the partitions for back. Now do the swipe action at bottom to start creating a backup for emergency cases. This backup is really a lifesaver!

Step 6. Now, install the ROM file. On TWRP’s homescreen, tap on Install, and then locate the system file and tap on it.

Then tap on ‘Add more zips’ button and select the modem file. Then also add the boot and bootloader files this way.

With all four zip files added, do the Swipe action at bottom to begin flashing the them all one after another.

Step 7. When it’s done, tap on Reboot system button to restart the device.

That’s it.

The first boot might take some time, so be patient with this. Give it 5 to 30 mins or so. When the screen comes on, it’s better to let the device rest for 5 minutes so that new code settles dows quite alright. Then pick up your device and enjoy your Marshmallow.

LG G4 Marshmallow Root

Well, the root access is now available for Marshmallow on LG G4.

You basically have to flash a custom kernel that supports root because LG’s stock kernel doesn’t. Normally you have to flash SuperSU after installing custom kernel, but because the kernel we have comes with root injected already, there is no need to flash SuperSU. Find it at the link below.
