Bundle Apple Pencil 2 with Magic Keyboard at 30% off

Verizon Wireless is now offering a rare chance to score some added savings by bundling two of Apple’s latest accesories together. Right now, adding the Apple Pencil 2 to your cart alongside either the 12.9-inch or 11-inch Magic Keyboard lets you save 30% – that drops the first bundle down to $335 from its usual $478 combined going rate in order to deliver a new 2023 low. As for the 11-inch Magic Keyboard package, you’ll pay $300 as opposed to its usual $428 going rate, also marking a new low.

In either case, both of these accessories are designed to go alongside the latest iteration of M1 iPad Pro. While there’s the same features as the original models, this time around for Magic Keyboard there’s a fresh coat of paint for the white style and tweaked build to accommodate the slightly thicker tablets. You’re still looking at the signature floating hinge design and Smart Connector support, as well as the dedicated USB-C charging port and a backlit keyboard and built-in trackpad. Get a closer look in our hands-on review.

Apple Watch Series 6 falls to $280 with (PRODUCT)RED stylings

Woot is discounting the previous-generation Apple Watch Series 6 40mm GPS style to $280 in the (PRODUCT)RED colorway. Normally fetching $399, this is the first new condition price cut we’ve seen all year and now sits at within $30 of the refurbished offers we’ve been seeing as of late. This is $119 in savings regardless and a rare chance to save if you don’t mind going with the limited colorway selection.

While this might not be the latest wearable from Apple, going with Apple Watch Series 6 doesn’t mean you’ll be sacrificing all too much. Aside from the main improvements of a refreshed case and larger screen, Series 6 and 7 models share the same processor alongside a matching array of blood oxygen, heart rate, and other fitness sensors. Both run watchOS 8, too! So for those who don’t need the latest and greatest, going with the Apple Watch Series 6 delivers plenty of savings.

Anker’s latest midweek sale discounts iPhone essentials from $11

After seeing its all-new GaNPrime chargers go up for sale earlier in the week, Anker is back today with a new midweek sale covering its popular iPhone accessories. Leading the way this time around is the just-released Anker PowerCore 5K Power Bank at $25. Normally fetching $30, today’s offer is the first discount to date since debuting last week at $5 off.

Available in two colors, Anker’s latest power bank can refuel two devices at once thanks to its internal 5,200mAh battery. The PowerCore 5K packs a handheld design that delivers 12W USB-C charging on top of a USB-A slot that can simultaneously be used to power up gear while out and about. Shop additional discounts from $11 right here.

Sony’s just-released XM5 ANC Headphones see first refurbished discount to $259

Secondipity via eBay’s official refurbished storefront now offers the recently-released Sony WH-1000XM5 ANC Headphones for $259 in both black and silver. Normally fetching $398 in new condition at retailers like Amazon, this is one of the very first chances to save since debuting earlier in the spring. Today’s offer amounts to $139 in savings and is the best discount we’ve tracked so far.

Sony’s new XM5 headphones arrive as the latest addition to its series of popular cans backed by some of the best active noise cancellation on the market. This time around there’s a completely refreshed design that now arrives with 30-hour battery life to go alongside the new Integrated Processor V1 for improved playback. That new exterior is comprised of soft fit leather with a lightweight build rounding out the package alongside multipoint Bluetooth connectivity.

Fibaro’s HomeKit Multi-Sensor tracks motion, temps, vibration, more

Amazon currently offers the Fibaro HomeKit Multi-Sensor for $37. Normally fetching $50, today’s offer is a new all-time low at 25% off. This is one of the first discounts of the year, and undercuts our previous mention from several months back by $3. Fibaro’s multi-sensor delivers a variety of stats to your setup ranging from motion detection and light intensity to temperature tracking and even vibration monitoring.

It enters as one of the smallest smart home accessories of its kind on the market and pairs with the rest of your HomeKit setup over Bluetooth. Whether you’re looking to set automations based on the stats it can monitor or just want to receive notifications when something is triggered, this is a great addition to any Siri setup.

Color aside, Apple’s Magic Keyboard elevates your desktop workstation with a built-in numeric keypad with a metal build that comes in your preferred style. With Apple’s latest scissor key switches, this is as notable of an option for using with a Mac as it is for an iPad, and a Lightning port on the front to top off the rechargeable battery rounds out the package.

Amazon is now offering the new Apple AirTag Leather Loop in several styles, starting at $29. Marking the very first price cut to date since releasing earlier this spring, today’s offer is down from the usual $39 price tag to mark a new all-time low.

Delivering a stylish way to affix one of Apple’s new item finders to a backpack, keys, and more, its recent AirTag Leather Loop enters as one of the brand’s more premium offerings. Some Possible Causes (& their Solutions) Case too Tight

Many people use a case on their iPad – it is an expensive piece of equipment. If you are using a case on your iPad, you should check that the case is not too tight and squeezing the iPad and so causing glitches with the screen’s touch sensors. Try removing the case to see if the problem persists.

Problems with Apple Pencil

Apple Pencil may be damaged – If you have dropped it or stepped on it, for example, it could be malfunctioning due to physical damage.

Loose Apple Pencil tip – The Apple Pencil tip should be tightly inserted. If it is loose, your writing on your iPad could become erratic.

Dirty Pencil tip contact – Clean the contact point where the Apple Pencil tip connects to the Pencil.

Static Screen Protectors and Cases

Writing on your iPad, especially if you are using a screen protector that has a rough surface (paper-like screen protectors), causes friction which may cause static which could interfere with the Apple Pencil’s functioning. If you have a case installed, the iPad wont be able to ground itself while you are using it. If you can partially or fully remove the case, you can ground the iPad by having a finger touching the exposed metal of the iPad.

Remove iPad from the charger while using. For some users, this is the fix. If you want to keep it charging, try a different charger, different power source (outlet, power strip, Mac) or different surface (desk).

Other Things to Try Reinstall iPadOS

You will want to first make a backup of your iPad. Then using recovery mode, you can reinstall iPadOS without erasing your data. For more details on how to use recovery mode and reinstall iPadOS, see our article: How to Use Recovery Mode with your iPhone or iPad.

Apple Support

If you haven’t been able to solve the issue with your Apple Pencil and iPad, you may want to contact Apple Support. There is a possibility that something is wrong with either your Apple Pencil or your iPad. If you contact them via online chat, they can walk you through some checks to help eliminate some of the possible causes for the glitching.

If you are thinking about getting your Apple Pencil or iPad replaced or repaired, you may want to check your warranty or Apple Care status. You can also check if you are still eligible to purchase AppleCare if you don’t already have it.

You may also want to report the issue via Apple Feedback.

Furthermore, the Logitech K750 can be charged by any light source, including indoor lighting.

How To Reattach A Keyboard Key That Fell Off

A keyboard works when you press the keycap, which then presses the rubber nub or switch beneath it. So, if a key falls off, it’s not just because of the keycap, but there could be issues with the internal parts of your keyboard.

Yet, keys falling off are a fairly common issue, and there are different fixes for different types of keyboards. So, in this article, we will check out the step-by-step methods on fixing a fallen key from a laptop, mechanical, or membrane keyboard.

For Laptop Keyboard

If you recently dropped your laptop, chances are one, or many keys might have fallen off the keyboard. So, go through the following guide to learn how you need to fix them:

Then, check whether the rubber nub is fine or broken. If it doesn’t seem to be in its place, you can glue it, so it sticks well to the PCB.

Next, open any text editor and see if the key that fell off is now working fine.

If your laptop keyboard doesn’t work as it used to, there’s a probability that the keycap, retainer clip, or rubber knob has issues. Interestingly, you can buy a Key Replacement Kit that comes with all these three components.

For Mechanical Keyboard

If you do not place the keycap correctly after cleaning your mechanical keyboard, you’ll notice that the keys come off automatically. Such a situation might also happen if the switch has a fault. So, here’s what you need to do to fix it:

If you encounter any problem, use a switch puller to remove the switch gently. Alternatively, you can use your keycap puller by placing it on the two ends of the switch and pulling off, applying a little pressure.

Next, replace the switch with a new one if your keyboard is hot-swappable. To place the switch, check for the right edges and push it down with a little pressure.

Now, place the keycap back on the keyboard surface. Make sure you press the key multiple times to ensure it has been correctly inserted.

Finally, open a text editor and see if your key works. If it doesn’t work, try these keyboard fixes for Windows 11.

For Membrane Keyboard

Membrane keyboards are comparatively cheaper and silent than mechanical ones. Thus, many use it for general purposes.

Unfortunately, these keyboards have a shorter lifetime as the rubber dome can get damaged easily. Moreover, you may have to replace the entire sheet if even a single rubber knob is damaged.

So, let’s look into the possible fixes if your membrane keyboard key has fallen off:

Usually, membrane keyboards have a keycap with an elongated plastic injection that helps you connect with the rubber nub. So, check for any cracks or faults in it.

Next, check whether the rubber nub is broken or not. Well, you’ll need to get a new rubber-dome sheet if it’s broken.

Slowly remove the bottom section of the membrane keyboard.

Next, unplug the connector for safety purposes.

Then, plug in the connector again.

Close the bottom section and tighten all the screws.

Now, place the fallen keycap just above the rubber knob. While doing so, make sure you’ve aligned it the right way.

Then, press the key continuously, ensuring the keycap has been adjusted correctly.

Finally, open a text editor and check if the key is working again.

Asus Zephyrus Duo 15 Price Confirmed: Weird Comes At A Cost

ASUS Zephyrus Duo 15 price confirmed: Weird comes at a cost

The ASUS Republic of Gamers Zephyrus Duo 15 has two displays. There’s the standard display in the lid of the laptop, then there’s another display (another touchscreen display) just above the keyboard. Both displays work with the same operating system, and both operate together. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a similar sort of machine, but it is definitely the most elegant execution of a dual-screen laptop such as this.

At the head of the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 is a 15.6-inch PANTONE Validated non-touchscreen display panel. There are two options for this device: one, a 4K UHD IPS Adobe 100% panel with 60Hz image refresh rate. The other is a FHD IPS panel wit 300Hz sRGB 100% 3ms – also non-touch.

SEE TOO: ASUS new dual-screen laptop is pretty weird – and that’s just what we need

It’s the secondary display (called ScreenPad Plus, much like the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo) that’s always a touchscreen. That’s in place instead of your standard touchpad. If you’re gaming, there’s a good chance you’re already using a USB or Bluetooth mouse to control what’s on your screen, so ASUS (safely) assumes you’ll be OK with your keyboard being in the lower half of the base of the laptop.

The part of the base that’s closer to the main display has the secondary display. That section rises up out of the base of the laptop when the laptop’s lid is opened. That secondary display is a touchscreen panel, and ASUS includes software that makes use of the panel in a number of unique ways.

– Processor: Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake i7-10875H OR Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake i9-10980HK

– Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER or 2070 SUPER with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM

– 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™, DisplayPort 1.4, TBT, PD input 20 V/3A;output 5 V/3A

– 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (right)

– 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (Bottom)

– 1 x HDMI (HDMI 2.0b support)

– 2 x audio jack: mic-in & headphone, plus mic-in

– 1 x RJ45 LAN

– 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHz onboard, plus 1 x SODIMM slot up to 32 GB (supports up to 48 GB total)

– Backlit chiclet keyboard, supports n-key, per-key with 1.4 mm key travel

– 2 x speakers, ESS + Hi-Res Audio (HRA) certification, supports smart amplifier, Nahimic Sonic Studio + ISST

– Microsoft Cortana (far-field mic array)

– Wi-Fi: 2×2 multi-atenna WiFi 6 (802.11ax)

– Size: 36 x 26.8 x 2.1 cm

– Weight: 5.29 lb

The secondary panel is the “largest second panel ever put in a production gaming laptop.” This panel rises up to a 13-degree angle for “comfortable viewing and touchscreen interaction.” This panel doesn’t just POP up, it works with smooth motion. “The custom hinge staggers the rise of the display to prevent damage and incorporates curved sliders that delay the deployment of the secondary screen.”

This panel rolls with IPS tech and 3840 x 1100 pixel resolution and 60Hz image refresh rate. This touchscreen also supports ASUS Pen active stylus. Users will find unique interaction with games like Dying Light 2 which “moves co-op chats to ScreenPad Plus for easy viewing, and adds touchscreen controls for easy switching between inventory items and quests.”

This laptop is available in three configurations from Amazon, Newegg, ExcaliberPC, HID Evolution, Xoticpc, and the ASUS Store online. You’ll find the least expensive version of the laptop with code GX550LWS-XS79 for approximately $3000. The version with code GX550LXS-XS96 will run closer to $3500, and the most high-end version GX550LXS-XS99 will cost you around $3700 USD.
