Suggested January 2024 Scriblit Lets You Doodle Anywhere On Your Jailbroken Device’s Screen
Scriblit is a new jailbreak tweak that lets you turn the display of your jailbroken iPhone or iPad into a virtual drawing canvas, allowing you to doodle all over or annotate just about anything you want.
With a slew of configuration options and tools to pick from, you can use Scriblit for a wide range of things, from helping someone out to toying around with photos, but how you use it will depend on your own creativity.
Right off the bat, I can see myself using a tweak like Scriblit in a situation where I wanted to show someone how to do something. In a situation where you wanted to point someone to a specific button, app, or preferences pane, you would be able to circle something and write a note beside or underneath your doodle right before taking a screenshot of it to share.
Other uses for Scriblit also exist, for example doodling all over a photograph to share a laugh with your friends, but I think the aforementioned use has the most merit of them all.Using Scriblit
Scriblit is toggled on or off with an Activator action, which is super convenient because you can access Activator from anywhere on your device, whether you’re on the Home screen, Lock screen, or in an app.
When you invoke the Activator gesture you chose, you will see a few new buttons pop up on your screen. Those buttons do the following:
X – closes the Scriblit interface
Dot in circle – takes a screenshot of your scribbling
Pen/Eraser – toggles between a drawing tool and eraser tool
Outline list – lets you change the color, alpha level, and line thickness
As you can also see, the color picker is a full-blown picker, so you can choose from virtually any color rather than having to select a specific color from a list, which means the possibilities are essentially endless. The developer also recommends thinner lines on devices with smaller screens, as the thicker pen lines can become quite cramped unless you have a plus-sized iPhone or an iPad.
Aside from that, being able to toggle between a pen and eraser tool on demand is pretty useful too, because if you screw up somewhere on your annotation or drawing, you can easily apply fixes on the fly without having to start all over.
As far as the screenshot feature is concerned, when you’re done drawing, you can tap on the button to save a screenshot of your doodle so it gets put in your Camera Roll to be shared with others later on. You will notice a notification banner saying a screenshot was saved whenever you do take one, and this works as a sort of confirmation message to let you know it worked.Configuring Scriblit
Now that you see how the tweak works, it’s time to look at the options it has to configure. To do that, you’ll go to Settings → Scriblit after you install the tweak:
Here, you will be able to enable or disable the entire tweak and choose an Activator action you want to use to invoke the tweak. We recommend using a gesture that works system-wide, rather than one that only works on your Lock screen for example.
You’ll also see a toggle switch dubbed Retain Settings, which keeps all of your settings how they are until you respring, which once enabled, will overwrite the settings you saved in the actual Scriblit interface we shared with you earlier.
You can also pick the default color that appears when you fire up Scriblit, choose the default line thickness, and choose the default alpha level.
By setting defaults, these are going to be the values you see every time you open the Scriblit interface; it doesn’t mean you can’t change them later from the Scriblit buttons afterwards, but if you do, they will reset back to the default the next time you close and re-launch the tweak with Activator.
A complimentary Respring button is also included to finalize all the changes you make to the preferences pane. It also works for any other time you need to respring your device, and not just when you make changes to the Scriblit tweak, so keep that in mind.A cool novelty
I think Scriblit is a really cool novelty tweak that lets you have a little more fun with your jailbroken iPhone or iPad.
I can’t really say it’s one of those tweaks everyone has to have, but I will say it’s probably one of my favorites I’ve reviewed in a long time simply because I feel like I could actually use it.
If you’re interested in trying Scriblit, you can download it right now for $1.50 from Cydia’s BigBoss repository. All versions of iOS 9 are supported.

For the times when you want to quickly search for something on the internet or define a word you just read in a book that you have no idea the meaning of, TextSearchPro is a new jailbreak tweak available in Cydia that lets you find what you’re looking for in a heartbeat.About TextSearchPro
TextSearchPro is built around two main jailbreak extensions – FlipSwitch and Activator. With it, you can invoke an action from anywhere on your device, and you’ll get a prompt asking you to input a word or query.
Depending on how you’ve configured TextSearchPro, the tweak will let you either search the internet for whatever you typed using your favorite search engine, or it will define the word using iOS’ built-in dictionary.
In addition to the dictionary that’s built into iOS, TextSearchPro also supports all of the following search engines out of the box:
If you would prefer to perform a search using a different search engine from that of any of the ones listed above, TextSearchPro will let you configure up to two additional custom search engines, so have no worries, but we’ll get more into that later. How to use TextSearchPro
TextSearchPro can be invoked with Activator, so in our example, we’ll configure it using a double-tap of the Status Bar.
Now, when we double-tap on the Status Bar, we’ll get the following prompt asking us to type in something to search for:
You will notice that the button on the right side of the prompt says “Google,” and this is because whatever you search will be looked for on Google when you tap on the button. If you have any other search engine selected for TextSearchPro, then it will show the name of that search engine instead. If you open the interface by mistake, you can tap on the “Cancel” button to close it.
When you do search for something, you will get a custom WebView that shows your search results, as shown above. At the bottom of the WebView interface are buttons for:
Going forward and back
Opening the webpage in Mobile Safari
Toggling an iOS share sheet
Refreshing the contents of the webpage
Closing the WebView interface.
If you have the built-in iOS dictionary configured with TextSearchPro instead of an internet search engine, you can expect results like those below instead:
As you can see, when the iOS dictionary is being used with TextSearchPro, the prompt’s right button changes to “Define” to indicate that any word you type in will be defined with the iOS dictionary.
You can have more than one search engine enabled at once. If you do, then TextSearchPro is going to prompt you to choose which one you’ll use to search when you invoke the interface and type something into the text field:Configuring TextSearchPro
TextSearchPro adds a preferences pane to the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to work on behalf of your own specific needs.
The first thing you’ll want to do is choose what TextSearchPro will use to look for whatever it might be that you’re searching for. You can pick just one, or you can pick multiple, depending on what you think you might actually use.
Now do you remember that custom website search we mentioned earlier? If so, then here’s where you’ll get to configure that.
There are also two other options in this preferences pane – Auto Sleep Dismiss, which automatically dismisses the interface when your device falls asleep on it, and Dismiss By Home Button, which dismisses the interface when you press the Home button. Conclusion
TextSearchPro is a quick way to perform a search for something on the internet or find the meaning of words via the iOS dictionary. Its use of FlipSwitch and Activator give you a quick and easy way of accessing the menu from anywhere in iOS.
On the other hand, you can also use Siri to perform a lot of what TextSearchPro will do, and you can also launch Mobile Safari all by yourself to perform many of the tasks TextSearchPro will do, but these options involve either being noisy and talking out loud or using your time to unlock your device, find the Mobile Safari app, open it, and search from there. Whether or not you’re okay with these trade offs compared to convenience is completely up to you.
In any case, the $0.99 price point for this jailbreak tweak seems steep for the functionality it’s giving you, but if this is something you’d find useful, then it’s available in Cydia’s BigBoss repository for you to grab at any time.

Usually these games are meant to last anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes, though some last even an hour or more. (One or two may even make you refuse to give up until you beat them properly….) In no particular order, here are some of the best Google Doodle games you can still play.Pac-Man
Pac-Man is a timeless classic, so it only makes sense to kick off our list with this world-famous 1980s’ arcade game. On May 21, 2010, Google released this fun Doodle to celebrate Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary. Experience the nostalgia by chomping down on some dots, assorted fruits, and maybe even a ghost or two.Baseball
The Baseball Google Doodle was released on the Fourth of July, 2023, and what better way to celebrate Independence Day than playing some good ol’ fashioned baseball! To make things even more ‘merican, you play as various foods that you may find at a baseball game, such as hotdogs or nachos and cheese, while the opposing team are peanuts.
When you start the game, a random food item walks up to the plate. Press the Spacebar to swing your bat when the pitcher throws the ball. The speed and style of the pitch will vary as you score more points. The game ends when you strike out. See how many points you can score!Basketball
Continuing with the sports theme, Basketball lets you shoot hoops in this single-player time-passer. This was actually part of a four-day Google Doodle run, where you could also test your skills in soccer, slalom canoe, and soccer. According to Google Doodle lead Ryan Germick, these four games were played over one billion times in the span of four days.
The mechanics of the game is simple—just press and hold the spacebar to build up strength, and then release it to shoot. If you build up too much strength (or don’t build up enough), you’ll miss. See how many balls you can net within 30 seconds!Coding for Carrots
In celebration of 50 years of Kids Coding, the Google Doodle team released Coding for Carrots. This simple drag-and-drop game for kids introduces the concept of coding by using building blocks to send the rabbit in the correct direction to gather carrots.
Each block has an arrow pointing in a specific direction. To complete each level, players must add the correct sequence of blocks to direct the rabbit across the platform, collecting all of the carrots the level has to offer. The higher the level, the more difficult the sequence becomes.Rubik’s Cube
Made up of six colors, six sides, and 54 squares, the Rubik’s Cube has been around since 1974. In 2014, Google released the Rubik’s Cube Doodle in celebration of 40 years of frustrating people around the world.Pony Express
The Pony Express was a mail delivery service back in the 19th century. The first successful delivery was on April 14, 1860. As a nod to that history, Pony Express, the Google Doodle team made a neat Pony Express game where you collect mail on horseback, dodging obstacles all the while.
To play, users must use the up and down arrow keys to move the rider up and down, respectively. Collect as much mail as possible while avoiding cacti, fences, rocks, holes, and many other obstacles. There are three levels in total—try to collect all of the mail in each level!Sonic-like Pangolin Game
Pangolins are the most trafficked animal in the world and face extinction thanks to poachers hunting them down for meat, medicine, and fashion. In order to raise awareness of this problem, Google made a love-based Doodle on Valentine’s Day back in 2023 in honor of the endangered pangolin.
The pangolin Google Doodle is a Sonic-like side scroller. Move the pangolin using your left- and right-arrow keys, and make it jump with the spacebar. Collect as many items as you can and make it to the finish line before time runs out.Meow-loween
Meow-loween is a spooky Google Doodle that was created to celebrate Halloween back in 2023. In Meow-loween, the player controls a cat named Momo who must save the School of Magic from the onslaught of ghosts.Doodle Champion Island Games
The Doodle Champion Island Games is one of the longest Google Doodle games to date, taking around two hours to complete. This was originally scheduled to be released during the 2023 Olympics, but due to the pandemic delaying the event for an additional year, the Google Doodle team had more time to work on it, bringing even more fun to the table than originally planned.
To play, move your character around the world map and approach each challenge that awaits you. The controls are different for each game, so be sure to read the instructions carefully. Compete in all of the competitions and see if you can make it to the top of the leaderboard. The Garden Gnomes
Ever get the urge to sling garden gnomes several meters across a garden using a catapult? Now’s your chance! To give a bit of background on the history of garden gnomes, including their origin and how they’re made, Google Doodle brings you The Garden Gnomes.
The objective of the game is to sling the gnomes from your catapult as far as you possibly can across the garden. The further you sling them, the more flowers they plant. To play, press the spacebar to prepare the catapult, and then press the spacebar again to release the gnome. The better your timing of release, the further you’ll sling the gnome.Loteria
Loteria, often referred to as Mexican Bingo, is a traditional Mexican card game. The announcer shows a card, and you have to quickly see if you have a match on yours. Unlike bingo, the pattern you must make on your card changes each game. This is also the second Google Doodle that allows multiple players to join!
To play, listen to the announcer call out the card, take a look at it, and then check your card to see if you have a match. If you do, quickly drag and drop a bean on the card. If you don’t, then just wait until the announcer shows the next card. Match the pattern required for a win to complete the game. This is a game of chance, so good luck!Scoville
We’ve all made the mistake of popping an entire spicy pepper in our mouth. Filled with instant regret, we try to remedy the burning sensation as quickly as possible. Thanks to Wilbur Scoville, we know that running to the fridge and grabbing a jug of milk is the perfect solution to easing the pain. Also thanks to Scoville, we know how to measure the level of heat each pepper gives off. In honor of Scoville’s 151st birthday, the Scoville Doodle gives you the opportunity to show that spicy pepper who’s boss by chunking a scoop of ice cream at it.Crossword Puzzle
This Doodle pays tribute to the 100th anniversary of the humble crossword puzzle and its inventor, Arthur Wynn. Google’s digital version operates just as its paper counterpart does—you fill answers, erase them, and re-enter them as you slowly piece the correct responses together.
No hints or easy outs here; if you need to ask for help, open a separate tab and use the Google search engine to ask for assistance. (Also known as “what exactly to fill in.”) If it’s been awhile since you’ve last done a crossword puzzle, this hint may make your life easier: Not all answers are a single word.Savoy Ballroom
Created in honor of swing dancing and the Savoy Ballroom, the legendary dance venue in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood, this Google Doodle puts your rhythm game skills to the test. No need to be light on your feet or to dress in your best vintage outfits—instead, you’ll be sitting at home and tapping your keyboard for this one.
The challenges start simply enough as you match key presses to on-screen prompts, driven by music from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. But as the tempo rises with each level, so does the difficulty. If you’re naturally dexterous, take on the two-player mode solo to make the game far spicier.

Although there isn’t a jailbreak for iOS 11 yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Even if you’re using a jailbroken iOS 10 device right now, you can enjoy several of iOS 11’s new aesthetics and features by installing a few tweaks on it.
While a bevy of tweaks released over the last several months specifically port iOS 11-esque features to jailbroken iOS 10 devices, even some older tweaks provide functionality comparable to what Apple included in iOS 11 and are worthy of recognition. In this piece, we showcase all the tweaks that came make your iOS 10 jailbroken device look more like it’s running iOS 11.LockscreenXI
LockscreenXI was created by iOS developer LaughingQuoll to port the iOS 11 Lock screen experience over to jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
Minus the new default wallpaper, which you could easily download and apply yourself, it’s difficult to distinguish any significant differences between the official iOS 11 Lock screen and the proxy experience that’s re-created with LockscreenXI.
LockscreenXI includes a redesigned music player that matches the aesthetic of iOS 11, which can be collapsed or expanded on demand, as well as a retouched passcode input screen.
Because the Lock screen is the first thing you see anytime you sign into your device, LockscreenXI is easily one of the most vital tweaks that we’ve included on this list. To learn more about it in detail, we recommend reading our full review of LockscreenXI.Lysithea X
Lysithea X was an attempt by iOS developer ijapija00 to re-create the iOS 11 Lock screen experience for jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
Much like LockscreenXI, Lysithea X changes the way your Now Playing and passcode buttons look so that they’re more in line with the aesthetic of iOS 11. The Now Playing widget can be collapsed or expanded, depending on how much room you want to dedicate to music.
Unlike LockscreenXI, Lysithea provides more user customization, letting you tint the interface any color you desire and customize the overlay style, among other things.
More can be learned about Lysithea X in our full review about the tweak.ControlCenterXI
The redesigned modular Control Center experience is another mentionable feature of iOS 11 that got ported to jailbroken iOS 10 devices with the help of ControlCenterXI, which also happens to be created by iOS developer LaughingQuoll.
Although it’s not a perfect carbon copy of the iOS 11 Control Center, it’s a well-rounded copy and lets you try the modular Control Center experience for yourself without upgrading and losing your jailbreak.
From the main Control Center view, you can launch individual modules with either a 3D Touch or tap-and-hold gesture. When you do, you’re presented with a full-screen widget for interfacing with that particular control. The tweak supports these gestures for toggles, Now Playing, and display brightness settings, among other things.
I would consider ControlCenterXI an essential add-on for anyone trying to get the iOS 11 experience on their jailbroken iOS 10 device, so to learn more about how it works, we recommend reading our entire review.VideoPlayerXI
Another significant change that made it into iOS 11 was an entirely redesigned video player interface, and a jailbreak tweak called VideoPlayerXI by iOS developer LaughingQuoll ports it to jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
Despite how trivial this sounds, you’d be surprised at how many people got excited about the redesigned video player when Apple first announced it. With its modernized UI and darker look and feel, the new video player looks oodles better than the previous-generation video player.
For the most part, the controls are all still the same as in the old video player, but they’re arranged differently. VideoPlayerXI even goes a step further by adding customization options, such as choosing between a dark and light mode.
It’s a great tweak to try if you’re trying to get the iOS 11 aesthetic on your jailbroken iOS 10 device, so we recommend reading our full review about VideoPlayerXI to learn more about it.NotificationCenterXI
NotificationCenterXI by iOS developer LaughingQuoll focuses on bringing an iOS 11-esque Notification Center experience to jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
In iOS 11, Apple made Notification Center look almost like the Lock screen, so NotificationCenterXI does the same. You’ll notice the wallpaper background instead of the Gaussian blur, and you also get a more prominent date and time indicator after the fact.
Notifications and widgets still look the same as they did before installing the tweak, and you even use the same ‘X’ button you’re familiar with from the iOS 10 interface to clear unwanted notifications.
NotificationCenterXI seems like an essential part of porting iOS 11 features to your jailbroken iOS 10 device, so if you’re interested in learning more about it, we recommend reading our full review.ScreenshotXI
iOS 11 also re-thinks the screenshot-taking experience in Apple’s mobile device lineup, and a jailbreak tweak dubbed ScreenshotXI by iOS developer DGh0st mimics the look and feel quite well.
After taking a screenshot, a small preview thumbnail appears at the bottom-left of your screen. You can tap and hold on the thumbnail to invoke a share sheet that helps you direct your screenshot to the proper sharing platform.
ScreenshotXI even comes with a whole host of preferences that let you tailor the tweak to your needs. You can customize things like appearance, behavior, and window priority, and more.
You can learn more about ScreenshotXI from our full review if you’re interested in augmenting your iOS 10 screenshot experience so that it looks and feels more like it does on iOS 11.SwitcherXI
If you’re looking for an App Switcher experience on iOS 10 that looks and feels just like iOS 11, then SwitcherXI by iOS developer ArtikusHG is about as good as it gets.
This tweak brings a few of the iOS 11 App Switcher aesthetics to the iOS 10 App Switcher, but one of the most notable would be the removal of the Home screen card.
While it’s not a perfect copy of the iOS 11 App Switcher because of minute differences in the way the wallpaper is expressed beneath the multitasking cards, it’s still a great addition to your device if you’re trying to iOS 11-ify your device.
Our full review of SwitcherXI provides the full details on the tweak.CCRecord
iOS 11 lets you initiate screen recordings directly on your iPhone itself with a Control Center toggle, and a tweak called CCRecord by iOS developer Cole Cabral enables you to do this on your jailbroken device too.
The tweak adds a new toggle button to Control Center that causes iOS to start recording your screen movements and taps. When finished, you can tap on the toggle button again, and the video file gets saved to your Camera Roll so you can share it later.
As a bonus, CCRecord is fully-compatible with ControlCenterXI, which would be handy if you’re using that extension on your device already.
You can read our full review of CCRecord to learn more about whether the tweak is right for you.CCLowPower
iOS 11 also gives you a Control Center toggle for Low Power Mode, which is useful when you’re running short on battery life and need to save juice. Fortunately, CCLowPower by iOS developer Cole Cabral brings this feature to jailbroken iOS 10 devices too.
After installation, you can open Control Center and find the new Low Power Mode toggle button in the interface. Tapping it enables Low Power Mode, and tapping it once more turns it off.
Unfortunately, CCLowPower doesn’t work with ControlCenterXI like CCRecord does, so you’ll have to pick and choose between the two if you fancy using either of using them.
You can read our full review of CCLowPower to learn whether the tweak is right for you or not.GIFRoll
Another feature of iOS 11 that often slips under the radar is the support for animated GIF images in the Photos app. Notably, you can accomplish the same functionality on a jailbroken device with a free tweak called GIFRoll by iOS developer isklikas.
After installing the tweak, animated GIFs will move before your eyes from Apple’s native photo-viewer. There’s not much else to say about the tweak except for the part that it feels just like the OEM experience.
Be sure to check out our full review of GIFRoll to make sure that it will do everything you need it to do.MultiIconMover
iOS 11 users with lots of installed apps are probably really enjoying the luxury of moving multiple apps at one time, but a jailbreak tweak called MultiIconMover by iOS developer Lance Fetters can let you do the same thing on jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
After installing MultiIconMover, you can select several apps on your Home screen at one time and move them in bulk rather than one-by-one. You could relocate them to other parts of the Home screen, or even into folders if you wanted to.
MultiIconMover has existed since the iOS 4 days. Believe it or not, the developer still maintains the tweak to this day.
Because MultiIconMover is such an old tweak, so is our original review of the tweak. Nevertheless, it’s a great way to mimic this iOS 11 feature on your jailbroken device.Thumbtack
The Notes app in iOS 11 gains new note-pinning abilities to keep users more organized when jotting their thoughts down, and Thumbtack by iOS developer Evil Penguin brings this functionality to iOS 10.
While the pin doesn’t look as robust as it does in iOS 11, Thumbtack goes a step further by moving pinned items to the top of your notes list and makes it easier to discern essential notes from unimportant ones.
Our review post has the full scoop if you’re interested in learning more about Thumbtack.Eclipse 4
The updated color inversion setting in iOS 11 is about as close to ‘dark mode’ for iOS as we’re going to get from Apple as of right now, but Eclipse 4 by iOS developer Guillermo Moran can offer a similar effect on jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
