Data Recovery is a second line of defense in case the hard drive crashes and the backup fails. Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Professional is a handy software for the purpose of recovering different kinds of partitions e.g., hard drive partitions, CD/DVD ROM partitions, etc. You can also recover your deleted documents, photos, audio and video files, etc. And yes, we have a giveaway for this software.

The interface

The main interface gives you three recovery options:

Drive Recovery

CD/DVD Recovery

Photo Recovery

Quick Recovery

Deleted Recovery

Advanced Recovery

Raw Recovery

Quick Recovery will perform a quick scan of the selected volume (drive). This option is very efficient and will give you almost all the deleted data in a few moments. Quick recovery can be performed on only one drive at a time. You can recover data from existing volumes, lost volumes and even raw drives.

Deleted Recovery will list files that were deleted from the media (hard drive or CD/DVD drive). The benefit of this option is that it will only list deleted files. Everything else will be omitted.

Advanced Recovery will give you more options than Quick Recovery while essentially doing the same task. If a drive was deleted or corrupted in a different format than the current format, you may want to use the Advanced Recovery option. Supported file systems include FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, NTFS and NTFSS.

Raw Recovery makes use of file signatures in order to recover data from a raw partition. It will scan every bit of the partition and will try to identify and recover data according to the file signatures available in the software.

The CD/DVD Recovery and Photo Recovery options work very similar to the Drive Recovery option but are specialized for UDF file systems and image-only files respectively.

The Recovery Process

Since the Drive Recovery, CD/DVD Recovery and Photo Recovery work in a similar manner, we will only go through the Drive Recovery option. You can follow the same steps for other recoveries.

1. Open Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Professional software

2. Select the volume or partition that you want to recover

3. Select one of the recovery options

4. If you select the Quick Recovery option, it will start scanning the partition instantly and will display a tree of folders and files that are being retrieved. Please note that it may take some time (even for Quick Recovery) to complete depending upon the partition size and deleted data to be recovered.

5. After scanning is completed, you will be presented with the recovered folder structure. The interface is just like the list view of Windows Explorer

Raw Data Recovery works in a very similar fashion. You have to select Raw Recovery instead of Quick Recovery to start scanning for raw partitions.

Recovering data

When you are done with the scanning task, there are two options available for you to recover the deleted files and folders. Either select each and every file and folder of our choice to recover or create a recovery image of the scanned data so that you may be able to load the same data again instantly and recover files afterwards.

When you have completed the scanning process, select the files and folders you want to recover and press the Recover button. This will display the data saving options. You can either recover to a local drive or an FTP location. You can also compress the recovered files by zipping them to save space.

I was quite satisfied with the recovery results when I ran the software on a couple of old hard drives. Together with a USB flash drive support, Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Professional is an all-in-one recovery tool giving you all the chances and options to recover your precious data.

Finding The Best Digital Marketing Agencies In Phoenix

Your business is important, and you want to see success. You don’t have money to just burn on your marketing budget, you need cost-effective results — and you don’t want to have to wait around. If you’re reading this article you’re probably considering hiring a marketing agency to help promote your business and increase sales. You’re off on the right foot.

But finding the “best digital marketing agency” isn’t a concrete answer — it’s actually really subjective. Depending on your business and your individual needs, there could be multiple Phoenix agencies that could equally benefit your company. The better question to ask isn’t who is the best, but who best fits me?

Questions to Ask Yourself

Before submitting a contact form or dialing that 10 digit phone number, you need to ask yourself some questions and understand what your expectations are when working with a marketing agency. You need to go into these conversations with potential firms and know what you are looking to gain from their help.

Does my industry factor into what agency I want to hire? (Do they need to have experience with similar companies?)

What is my main need from an agency?

What type of marketing services am I interested in?

What level of involvement do I want from an agency?

How will I gauge success from working with an agency?

What type of time and monetary commitment do I want to make to an agency?

Questions like these will help you better understand your needs and help weed out a marketing agency that may be a misfit for your company.

What to Look For in a Marketing Agency

Now comes the hard part, interviewing potential agencies. In the Phoenix metropolitan area, there are numerous marketing agencies to choose from. However, one thing they all have in common is that they all are not created equal. Here are a few key aspects to consider when talking with local agencies.

Available Services

Let’s say you are interested in SEO marketing for your business. Great! You get connected with an SEO only agency, seems like a good idea, if it’s the only thing they do, then they must be good at it, right? Well maybe.

Communication Style

Communication is key in nearly every type of relationship, and that still rings true for business and agency relationships. How do you want communication to be handled? After all, you’re the employer here. A common thread that exists with marketing agencies is clients who grow unsatisfied with the level of transparency in communication. Emails go lost to follow up. Phone calls are returned days later. Monthly reporting lacks depth.

Therefore, it is important to ask about an agency’s communication habits and procedures. Do they even have any? You want to ensure that whether you’re a hands-off business owner, or a “give me every little detail” type of owner, that the communication you expect will be delivered.

Experience, Does it Matter?

It is best to ask for some proof of work or past results, so you have an idea of what quality of work they are capable of… so ask for those case studies!

Simple enough… Do you like the people at the marketing agency? It often becomes difficult to work alongside people who you don’t enjoy or get along with. As a working appendage to your business, your favorability, and communication with a marketing agency is bound to be better if both parties like one another.

How To Partition Mac Hard Drive

Things you need to know:

As a quote from the Bible goes, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor,” it’s always better to have something more than one (other than the problems in life). The same goes for the benefits if you partition your Mac hard drive.

If you don’t know how to do it, I got you covered with the guide below. Here, I have mentioned all the steps you need to follow and how you can entirely erase or delete these partitions. But first things first!

Why should you partition a Mac hard drive?

There are many reasons why you should partition your Mac hard drive. The primary among them is the ability to run a stable version of macOS and a macOS beta version or even Windows on the same Mac.

You can also create a backup of the data on the other partition and thus, prevent worrying about losing the data. Now that we know the use cases for creating the partitions, it’s time to learn how to do it.

Create a hard disk partition in macOS

Before you begin the process, it is best to take a backup of your Mac if things don’t go well, leading to data loss. Now since that’s sorted, let’s look at the steps:

Sometimes if it takes a long time, macOS may give the option to continue installation or to wait until it’s completed.

How to switch between partitions

Your Mac will open to the new disk that was selected. Other than that, you can also select the disk when your Mac is booting up. Simply press and hold the Option key and select the partition from the Startup Manager screen.

Delete Mac partition

As one can guess, when you create a partition, it divides the storage inside your Mac, reducing the storage for a particular partition. Chances are that you might have accidentally allocated extra memory to a partition, which will also affect your Mac. To resolve this, delete that partition. Here’s how:

As you can guess, deleting the partition will also erase all the data stored in it. So, be sure to take a backup.

Erase a partition

If you don’t want to delete a partition but only want to erase the contents in it, you have to:

Create a new volume on Mac

Since you are dividing the disk storage into individual sections, it can’t be dynamically changed later. Hence it is best to create APFS volumes instead of dividing your Mac storage for creating partitions. And yes, you can even install another macOS version on an APFS volume.

Even if you create multiple APFS storages, the space will be allocated dynamically between them, thus making sure you won’t lose any space. Now that we have seen the benefits of creating an APFS storage, let’s look at the steps for it:

Q. What is a volume vs. a partition?

In Partition, you directly divide the storage, and the memory won’t be allocated according to the other partition’s use. Whereas in Volume, they act like separate partitions without dividing the storage. The memory will also be allocated accordingly.

Q. What is the best partition format for Mac?

While the partition format differs according to your needs, usually APFS or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) are the best partition format.

Q. What is the default partition scheme for macOS?

APFS is the default partition scheme for macOS. There are many other partition schemes to choose from according to your needs.

That’s it!

If you love to play around with macOS Beta versions or experiment on macOS, it is always best to carry it out on partitioned storage, especially if it is your primary device. I hope that this guide helped you understand how you can partition your macOS hard drive, and if you have any doubts, let me know.

Stellar Repair For Exchange: A Tool Against Hafnium Attacks

Stellar Repair for Exchange: A Tool against Hafnium Attacks

Microsoft recently detected multiple zero-day vulnerabilities on Exchange Server.

Given their severity, having an Exchange recovery tool is more important than ever.

In this article we will be looking over one such tool called Stellar Repair for Exchange.

We will be looking over its features, how it can help with Hafnium breaches, and more.

Exchange Servers and Exchange Databases play an important part when it comes to data security and secure reliable access to emails, and contacts in modern-day companies.

Keeping them safe, secure, and always working will greatly help a company make better revenue and manage things easily.

However, things don’t always go as planned, and unforeseen events will make you wish you had some means of recovering your data from corrupt Exchange Database files (EDB files), and that is why we would like to talk about one of the best Microsoft Exchange recovery tools called Stellar Repair for Exchange.

What is Stellar Repair for Exchange?

As the name of the product suggests, Stellar Repair for Exchange is a dedicated third-party Exchange Server data recovery tool that boasts powerful recovery of data tools and a simplistic user interface.

Not only will it recover the server data, but it will also help to Export EDB files directly to live Exchange and Office Server databases, and it doesn’t matter if it was an Exchange server crash, power failure, or vulnerability exploitation without any risk of data loss

Regarding its compatibility, you can use Stellar Repair for Exchange on Microsoft Windows Servers and Microsoft Windows even more, since it supports recovering data from EDB files of Exchange servers 2023, 2023, 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2000, and 5.5

It also works with the latest versions of Microsoft Office as well, as it has the ability to export complete EDB files directly to live Exchange and Office 365

In fact, Stellar Repair for Exchange can be used in a wide variety of other cases, including:

Dirty shutdown errors

Exchange Server crashes

Failing to mount Exchange databases

Not just a bulk recovery tool

It does a great job not only at scanning your PC for missing or corrupt EDB files, but it also lets you customize your search in mail items as per the combination of search criteria.

You can perform this operation based on different search criteria, such as To, From, Subject, the contacts you’ve Cc-ed, Attachment Name, etc.

All Mail items that you then find can then be exported to PST, MSG, EML, HTML, RTF, or PDF format.

Manage your mailbox data to a greater degree

If recovering contact is your main concern, Stellar Repair for Exchange helps with that as well, as it helps to save the contacts of repaired mailboxes in CSV format which can later be viewed and edited in Excel or Google Sheets.

Stellar Repair for Exchange also recovers calendars, journals, and tasks with multiple formats to choose from when saving them.

More so, if the mailboxes you are trying to recover are incredibly large, holding tens of thousands of emails in a folder, then you should know that Stellar Repair for Exchange will split these folders upon recovery or repair so that managing them can be easier.

The Split is based on the number of emails in a folder. After saving a specific number of emails, the application splits the folder into smaller sub-folders, but one common practice is for the program to split your recovered data based on the date of the sent or received messages.

For example, if you have a mailbox with 100.000 emails, rather than recovering one large and hard-to-read file, you will instead get smaller subfolders based on the month of the sent or received message.

An Exchange recovery tool for all PCs

Because of the fact that Stellar repair for Exchange can even help Exchange 22003 and Exchange 2007, it was designed to run even on older PCs, since there is a high possibility that older versions of Exchange may be due to older hardware.

That being said, here are the minimum system requirements for your PC to run Stellar Repair for Excel efficiently:

Processor: Intel-compatible (x86, x64)

Operating System: Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7 & Windows Server 2023, 2012, 2008

Memory: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)

Hard Disk: 250 MB of free space

3 different versions based on your particular needs

Stellar Repair for Exchange is currently available in 3 different versions:

Each subsequent version has all the features of the previous one and a few extra tools that will prove useful

Here’s a precise rundown of what each version can do:

Try it before you buy it

When it comes to recovery or repair tools, one of the biggest problems is that a lot of them lack any kind of free version, or at least a trial or demo for users to test out and assess the program’s efficiency.

However, this doesn’t seem to be the case with Stellar Repair for Exchange, since you can opt to download a free version of the product so that you can see just how good it is at recovering the mailboxes from your EDB files.

Note: The free trial version of Stellar Repair for Exchange can only scan and preview your recoverable mailboxes.

A recovery tool in a world where data can be lost

In a world where security vulnerabilities are on the rise and the struggle to keep them at bay becomes harder and harder, keeping a good recovery tool at hand can always be helpful.

Such would be the case with EDB files, and the recent attacks detected by the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center where multiple zero-day vulnerabilities on on-premises versions of the Exchange server were detected.

These vulnerabilities were caused and exploited by the Hafnium group, and through them, they managed to gain remote access to Exchange servers so that they could steal critical data from a variety of organization networks.

The vulnerabilities being exploited are the following:

As a response to these attacks, Microsoft has released several Exchange Server updates, so have them installed as soon as they become available.

How can I protect Exchange Servers from Hafnium attacks? 1. Run the Microsoft On-Premises Mitigation Tool

The Exchange On-Premises Mitigation Tool (EOMT) is a tool released by Microsoft that is meant to combat common vulnerabilities exploited by the Hafnium group, and it works with MS Exchange 2023, 2023, and 2013.

The main purpose of this tool is to check whether your Exchange Server is vulnerable to CVE-2023-26855, and you can use it as follows:

Download the EOMT tool

Extract the content of the Security folder to a location of your choosing

Press Windows and open PowerShell with administrator rights

Via PowerShell, go to the extracted folder location

Run the chúng tôi script to check if your server is vulnerable : .EOMT.ps1

If you’ve run through the previous solution and noticed that your Exchange servers are indeed vulnerable, you can help prevent any possible future attacks by simply updating your Exchange servers, which is a solution that even Microsoft recommends.

Exchange 2007 and 2003

While these versions are believed to be safe from Hafnium attacks, they no longer receive any updates from Microsoft, so you need to upgrade them anyway.

Exchange 2010

This particular version of Exchange server was affected by CVE-2023-26857, so you’ll need to update it with the latest security patches, and you can also run the EOMT script mentioned above just to be sure.

Exchange 2023, 2023 & 2013

These versions of Exchange Server were the primary target of the Hafnium attacks, so if your company is using any of them, install the latest security updates and use the EOMT script as soon as possible.

3. Restore your Exchange server mailboxes data via a backup

If the preventive measures came too late and your company’s Exchange servers were already attacked, damaged, and rendered useless by Hafnium, you can use the RecoverServer switch to get all of the data back.

Note: This solution only works if the Windows Server and Exchange versions are the same as the new server or else there may be compatibility issues.

4. Use Stellar Repair for Exchange

The solution mentioned above in the 3rd point is only usable if you have a backup stored somewhere, but if you don’t your only solution is to use third-party Exchange Server recovery tools, and Stellar Repair for Exchange is one of the best on the market.

This concludes our brief overlook of Stellar Repair for Exchange, and we hope that we made it easier for you to understand why having such a tool at hand is important, especially if you hold sensitive information on your Exchange Server databases.

Oneplus X Twrp Recovery

The recently launched OnePlus X, a semi-budget device from the makers of the original Flagship killer, has now gotten itself an unofficial build of TWRP recovery.

Since this is an unofficial build of TWRP recovery for the OnePlus X, don’t expect it to be fully functional. However, the basics of TWRP recovery like flashing a zip file, taking nandroid backup and using MTP while in recovery, of course works well even on this early and unofficial OnePlus X TWRP build.

What you need to get TWRP recovery installed on your OnePlus X is just an unlocked bootloader, which is very likely supported under your device’ warranty, thanks to the humble warranty policy OnePlus usually follows for its devices.

Supported devices

OnePlus X, codename onyx

Don’t try this one any other device with codename different than above!

Important: Check your device’s codename  on free Android app called Droid Info. If you see the codename mentioned above in the app, then use this recovery, otherwise not. BTW, you can check codename device’s packaging box too.

Warranty may be void of your device if you follow the procedures given on this page. You only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components.

Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files.

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1. Unlock bootloader of your OnePlus X. For this, use the procedure given at our Nexus 6P bootloader unlock guide, as the procedure is exactly same.

[Note: In

step 4

of the guide linked above, use the combination Volume Up + Power button to boot into bootloader mode.]

[Note: Inof the guide linked above, use the combination Volume Up + Power button to boot into bootloader mode.]

Step 2. Install ADB drivers.

Step 3. On your OnePlus X, enable USB debugging. For this:

Go back to Settings, then choose ‘Developer options’. Find the ‘USB debugging’ option and use its toggle button to enable it. Accept warning by tapping on OK button.

Step 4. Connect your OnePlus X to PC now. You will get a pop-up as shown below on your phone when you connect for the first time after enabling USB debugging. Select ‘Always allow from this computer’ checkbox and then tap on OK button.

Step 5. Download the OnePlus X TWRP recovery from above.

Step 6. Rename the recovery file, from chúng tôi to a simple one, chúng tôi

Step 7. Now, open command window in the folder where you have the chúng tôi file. For this:

Now choose Open command window here option from that.

You will see a command window open up, with location directed to folder where you have the twrp recovery file.

Step 8. Boot your OnePlus X into Bootloader/Fastboot mode:

Power off your device and wait for 3-4 seconds after screen goes off.

Press and hold Power and Volume Up together for 3 seconds and then let go. You’ll enter bootloader mode, also called Fastboot mode.

Step 9. Test whether fastboot is working alright. For this, run the command given below. (You can also copy paste the command and then use enter key to run it.)

→ Upon running command below, you should get a serial no. with fastboot written after it. If you don’t get fastboot written on cmd window, then it means you need to reinstall adb and fastboot drivers, or change restart PC, or use original USB cable.

fastboot devices

Step 10. Flash OnePlus X TWRP recovery now. Use the following command for that.

fastboot flash recovery onyx-twrp.img

Step 11. TWRP recovery will now be installed on your OnePlus X. When done, reboot into recovery mode. For this, use the following command.

fastboot boot onyx-twrp.img

Alternative way to reboot into recovery mode is to power off the device first. And then press and hold Volume down + power button fo 4-5 seconds.

Happy flashing!

List Device Names, Disk And Partition Information In Linux With Lsblk

On Linux, you sometimes need to work with disks and/or partitions directly from the command line. Often, you actually want to perform actions on the filesystems, but you do so by specifying the partitions where they are stored. On the command line, you refer to these by using their device names (for example, “/dev/sda3”).

On systems with many disks, partitions, optical drives, and USB drives, it can be hard to identify the device name assigned to each of them.

What Does the lsblk Command Do?

lsblk displays information about storage devices. The utility is most often used to identify the correct device name to be passed to a subsequent command.

Most of the time, lsblk without any additional parameter, suffices to help identify the disk or partition you want to work with. From the picture above, for example, I can tell that “sda4” is a Windows partition, but that’s because I know its size is approximately 200GB. However, if you have two or more partitions of the same size, things may get more confusing. In other cases you may simply not know or remember the size of a particular disk or partition on your system.

On Linux, it’s dangerous to confuse device names, as you may destroy or corrupt useful data with a wrong command.

Useful lsblk Parameters

By default, lsblk displays just a few properties, as you saw in the picture above. But, if you add parameters to the command, you can make it output additional device properties. This, in turn, makes it much easier to identify the disk or partition you are looking for.

Find Out If It’s an SSD or Hard-Disk (HDD)

To see what extra columns lsblk can display, enter the following:

In this scenario you will use ROTA and DISC-GRAN. ROTA tells you if a block device belongs to a rotational storage device. Hard disks are rotational, so the column outputs “1” besides them (binary logical value meaning “true”). DISC-GRAN shows you the discard granularity. SSDs support discard to free up unused data blocks. Hard disks do not support this feature, since they don’t need it, so this column will display a zero value for them (“0B,” meaning discard granularity of zero bytes).

Show Filesystems Stored on Disks/Partitions

When you see a list of partitions, you might be able to tell what each of them stores, based on their sizes alone. When this is not enough, you can make lsblk output filesystems, too. It’s much easier to identify partitions this way because:

Windows uses the NTFS filesystem

Linux usually uses ext4

A USB device uses FAT, FAT32 (vfat) or NTFS

The EFI boot partition is usually very small and shows a vfat filesystem on it

Also, add the LABEL output column, which can help if partitions have been labeled when created/formatted.

+FSTYPE,LABEL Show Removable Devices/USB Memory Sticks lsblk

will display an extra column that tells you if the device is removable. A “1” value means “true,” which indicates a USB stick or other types of removable media.

Show HDD/SSD Model

This is useful when you want to look up the exact code of your storage device model to upgrade your firmware or download drivers.

+MODEL Show Filesystem UUID (Universally Unique Identifier)

Older Linux distributions mounted filesystems by specifying their device names in “/etc/fstab.” However, that proved unreliable since “/dev/sda2” might become “/dev/sdb2” when you add another storage device to the system. Nowadays, UUIDs are used instead, which remain constant no matter what you add/remove to/from your computer. For whatever reason you need UUIDs, you can make lsblk display them with

+UUID Show Other lsblk Columns You Need

At the beginning of the tutorial, you used

to see extra columns that lsblk can display. If the examples here are not sufficient for your needs, consult that help information again and combine parameters as needed. To do so, just enter lsblk -o +, followed by the column names that you want to output. Separate column names with a comma (“,”). For example:

After you identify the device name you want to work with, remember to replace it with the full device path in the subsequent command you intend to use. For example, if you got “sda4” as a result in lsblk, you will have to replace it with “/dev/sda4” in the next command. So, instead of “sda4” you type “/dev/sda4” in a command like mkfs -t ext4 /dev/sda4.
