Suggested April 2024 Three Ways To Find Your System Specifications

It can often be valuable to know the finer details about your computer, whether discussing with friends, finding upgrades for your existing hardware, or (in the worst case scenario) discussing it with tech support after something has gone catastrophically wrong. Few people know how to find their system specifications, and even fewer would be content with opening their computer to find parts that may not have obvious branding.

There are at least three popular tools available online for finding your computer’s specifications. No old-school tools are needed, nothing has to be opened; it couldn’t be much simpler, in fact.

CPU-Z

Perhaps the most well-known of the tools, CPU-Z has been an option for several years and can be modified slightly if you’re concerned about the program’s appearance. The modifications are minor at best, and CPU-Z isn’t winning any awards for its beauty, but it is a rock-solid tool for finding out computer specifications. In addition, CPU-Z is available for 32-bit or 64-bit computers, meaning it’s a universally usable tool.

Outside of just finding out your computer’s specifications, a few of the buttons in CPU-Z provide other useful options, such as the ability to search for updates to both drivers and the computer’s BIOS. While this could always be done without the aid of a piece of software, it is encouraging to see that the developers are encouraging people not only to know about more about their computers, but also how to care for them.

HWiNfo

The name might be a little strange looking, but HWiNfo is one of the other major options for those seeking to discover more about their computer. Unlike CPU-Z, it is available in portable form, meaning that you could use it to help with a friend’s computer or to work with your own.

The UI differs considerably from CPU-Z, proving that there is some flexibility in this field. HWiNfo displays a main window as well as two floating windows containing additional information. Where it excels, however, is in the depth of the information it is able to provide. HwiNfo was able to report about the operating system as well, including the fact that UEFI boot (also known as Secure Boot) was disabled on our test system.

Going further than this, it was able to determine when the RAM modules in the computer had been manufactured – impressive information, and potentially useful if a certain batch was known to cause problems. HWiNfo also includes a huge array of different settings, which can be toggled and played with at will.

Speccy

Speccy comes in two formats: free and paid (branded as “Professional” on their website). While the paid version is likely going to boast additional features, we opted to use the free version in order to better reflect its competitors

Annoyingly, Speccy came with an installer promoting bloatware, so do be careful when installing it to make sure that you avoid installing toolbars or other unwanted additions. While the installer was offering Google Chrome in our case, which is in truth a very good web browser, that’s not to say future revisions may have different offers. When in doubt, decline these offers of additional software.

Once inside the actual program, Speccy is quite elegantly laid out on a dark grey background. Again, the layout differs quite substantially from the other tools we have looked at; the actual information provided is much the same across all three, so this is quite an important factor, given that it is one of the few areas in which all options can differentiate themselves.

Which Should I Use?

For simplicity and ease of use, it is hard to look past CPU-Z. While dated in appearance, it’s quick and easy to work with, providing only the most essential information in a logical format. Development is ongoing with all three programs, so CPU-Z’s future – as with its competitors – may change their focus or appearance entirely.

9 Ways To Find Serial Number Of Iphone And Ipad (2023)

Knowing how to locate your device’s serial number is essential if you’re trying to check warranty information, troubleshoot a technical issue, or simply register your device. In this guide, I’ll walk you through several methods to find the serial number of your iPhone and iPad.

What does Apple product serial number mean?

Apple assigns a unique alphanumeric code known as the serial number to each iPhone or iPad it assembles. This code serves as a unique identifier and can be found in a variety of locations on the device.

Importance of iPhone serial number

The serial number on an iPhone is critical information that can be used in a variety of situations. Here are some of the reasons why the serial number is significant:

If your iPhone requires repair or replacement, you must provide the serial number to Apple or an authorized service provider.

The serial number is also used to activate the iPhone’s Activation Lock feature.

If you sell or transfer ownership of your device, the new owner may require the serial number to verify its authenticity.

When you contact Apple support for help with your iPhone, the representative may request the serial number to confirm the device’s eligibility for support.

Now that you understand the significance of the serial number, let’s delve into the process of locating the serial number on your iPhone.

How to find the UDID number on iPhone?

Locating the UDID number on your iPhone is a simple task, but if you run into any problems, I recommend reading our article on how to find the UDID of an iPhone or iPad for a comprehensive guide.

Are UDID and serial number similar on iPhone?

UDID and serial number are two distinct things. The UDID is a unique 40-character alphanumeric code used by developers to identify an individual iPhone or iPad. The serial number, on the other hand, is a distinct string of numbers and letters that identifies a specific iPhone model.

Concluding…

Knowing the serial number of your device is not only useful for troubleshooting and repairs but also for important tasks such as warranty registration and insurance claims. Rtx 4070 Specifications : Confirmed Specs So Far

RTX 4070 specifications : confirmed specs so far

As you prep your new build, the new 70 model specs might be of interest to you

As the Ada series blooms, then there is some expectation from the lower-end cards and something more affordable. And not launching at the same time as the rest, the RTX 4070 specs are quite a consideration to a few customers, so as the 4070 release date nears, we look as to what to expect from it.

The 40 series has launched with a mixed reception, as the RTX 4090 has been a great success although at a high asking price, but not too much more than previous. Whilst the 4080 dramatically increased MSRP with the performance and hasn’t been too popular. And the 4070 Ti had its own range of issues. So we’re not sure how the 4070 instead will be received depending on its price to performance.

RTX 4070 specs : rumored & confirmed specs

Even with the release date around the corner supposedly, there hasn’t been much official confirmation from Nvidia as to what the card has. But that doesn’t mean leaks and rumors don’t show up to give an idea of what the card entails. With VideoCardz showing off what looks like an Nvidia slide of the card details.

One early leak shows a GPU-Z validation with many of the confirmed specs we expected from earlier leaks and speculation.

With these expected 4070 specs, there is a clear change in what the card has to offer. Especially with the generational improvement, the same CUDA count will mean the 4070 is a good jump over the previous card. But it doesn’t increase and aims more at consistent pricing, unlike the other Ada cards that jump in specs and price too much.

The clock rate has been able to improve with the move back to TSMC for its process. With a 700 MHz higher potential boost clock, even custom cards will likely raise that even further. This then raises the FP32 compute up to 29 TFLOPS, a significant increase of the 3070.

Even though the 40 card increases the capacity of memory by 4GB and to the faster GDDR6X spec, it decreases the memory bus. As it might not fulfill the full range but still has a higher bandwidth up at 504 GB/s.

This comes even with a supposed lower board power at 200W by just 20 lower even though it was suggested it would be higher. This does make it run cooler and less cost, but that comes at a supposed higher price point by $100. So the price to performance might be worth it.

Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU-Z validation

Like we mentioned, big news of a GPU-Z validation reveals that many of the specs turned out to be as we expected. This GPU-Z validation shows off the RTX 4070 specs, revealed for the first time. This was submitted on April 6th, just a week before the supposed release date. As you can see below, most specs match up with what we’re already aware of. This is without any overclocking of course.

One of the intriguing things here though is that this particular validated card is running PCIe x16 3.0, rather than Gen4. Despite this, we expect that the 4070 will support PCie x16 4.0, in line with the rest of the 40 series and other modern graphics cards if your motherboard has support for it. The boost clock speed also comes in at 2535 MHz from this particular validation, just a little lower than some estimates.

RTX 4070 FAQs

How much VRAM does the 4070 have?

The RTX 4070 is rumored to have 12GB of GDDR6X memory. Which is 4GB more and a faster spec than what the 3070 ran. Which is also run on a 192-bit bus, clocked at 21 Gbps and all with a bandwidth of 504 GB/s.

How fast is the RTX 4070?

The RTX 4070 is rumored to have a base clock of 1,920 MHz and a boost clock of 2,475 MHz, with custom cards likely increasing that further. Which in general is also much faster than the RTX 3070 achieved.

When does the RTX 4070 come out?

The release date for the RTX 4070 is all but officially confirmed. We expect to see it arrive and available to purchase on April 13th.

RTX 4070 specs : Final word

There’s already a ton of information out there if you want to know exactly what the RTX 4070 specs are. We’d say that these specifications are all but officially confirmed by Nvidia themselves, with many early leaks and speculation holding true following a recent GPU-Z validation.

Once the card becomes available (likely on April 13th), we’ll get to see if any of this information differs in any way – though we don’t expect to be surprised by anything by now.

Sometimes, you may be trying to delete a file that you are looking at on your screen. However, you will get an error message that says File Explorer could not find this item.

When you are deleting files, you are trying to free up space on your hard drive for other pressing tasks. More often than not, this message means there’s a problem with your storage drives. The file may not be visible because Windows thinks it’s in another location.

Why I’m I getting the Windows File Explorer Could not find this item error?

If you are wondering why you are experiencing the Windows Explorer can’t find this item error, below are some possible reasons:

You moved the files to another location – When organizing your files, it is common to place related files together for easier management hence why the item is not found in Windows 11.

It may be a shortcut or a link – The file you may be trying to delete may actually be a shortcut to the original file that is located in another folder or previously deleted.

Virus infection – If you downloaded the file without scanning for viruses, it could be infected with malware, so always use a powerful antivirus. Also, if you transfer files to your computer from an infected USB drive, there is a possibility they could be corrupted.

Problem with your hard drive – Your hard drive may have been damaged from a computer crash or unexpected shutdown. Luckily, there is recovery software for damaged hard drives to help you repair them.

Windows File Explorer has an error – Some programs or services running in the background may cause issues with File Explorer. You can shut these down from the task manager and try deleting the file again.

Corrupt Windows system files – Sometimes when you are saving a large file, it may take a few moments during the save process. If your PC shuts down unexpectedly, you may get this error when you try to open it the next time.

Now that you know why you could not find this item when deleting files, below are some solutions to help you resolve the issue.

How do I solve the Windows File Explorer could not find this item error?

Before applying the actual solutions, there are some preliminary checks you can apply:

Sometimes, Windows File Explorer may become unresponsive. In such cases, you may be unable to view, manage or do anything on the UI. Restarting it is a good place to start. It helps close any unnecessary background services that may be interfering with the process.

Restart your PC as well. This will clear any temporary files that may prevent File Explorer from opening.

Now, let’s check out the detailed procedures below.

1. Convert the file to a zipped file

Zipped files are compressed files that require a third-party tool to open, such as WinZip . The compressed files take up less space and you can easily unzip them with Windows’ built-in utility.

Once you have converted the file to a zipped folder, you can go back and locate the folder to delete it from your system.

2. Use a specialized troubleshooting tool

Sometimes Windows will retain some files in a temporary form because it is either corrupted, used by another program, or damaged.

A great solution is to use a specialized tool to run a Windows File Integrity Scan to see if the files causing this kind of problem are corrupted.

3. Rename and delete the file with Powershell

If none of these solutions works for you, as a last resort you can start your PC in Safe Mode. Safe Mode allows your PC to start without some software and drivers. This way, you can proceed to delete the file if there was a glitch.

Once you are successful in deleting the file, you may also run into a problem where some files can’t be emptied from the Recycle Bin. Luckily, our guide addresses fixes for that too.

You may also encounter an issue where Windows File Explorer is slow but worry not as our detailed article takes you through a step-by-step process on how to solve this problem.

Seven Of Our Best Tips For Your Sonos System

We may earn revenue from the products available on this page and participate in affiliate programs. Learn more ›

If you’ve got one or more Sonos speakers at home, you’ve opened up a whole world of high-quality audio streaming, whether you’re playing tunes from your laptop or other services like Spotify, Apple Music, or Deezer.

1. Pair up your Sonos speakers

*”2 Become 1″ by the Spice Girls plays in the background.* David Nield

If you’ve got the money and the space, you can set up two Sonos speakers in the same room as a stereo pair. The set-up process is seamless and the Sonos app will take care of all the background processing so your tunes are correctly split into left and right panels.

With your speakers already set up in the Sonos app for Android or iOS, tap Settings, then System, to find them. Make sure both speakers are set as being in the same room (just tap Room if they’re not), then choose Create Stereo Pair. The two speakers will then appear as one inside the Sonos app when you’re choosing where to play your music.

To unpair a couple of speakers and treat them as standalone devices again, open the mobile app, then tap Settings and System, followed by the speaker pair. Choose Separate Stereo Pair to confirm your choice.

2. Wake up to your music

You’ll get to set a couple parameters for your alarm, too, including the time and days it goes off, which speaker it uses, and what playlist should start up. And if waking up to music is not your thing, there’s also the option of using a “Sonos Chime.”

Additional settings will let you choose the volume of the alarm and how long the audio lasts for before it stops on its own. And don’t worry—you can always enable a snooze function on your phone if you want to give yourself a few extra minutes in bed.

3. Play your music everywhere

Make your music follow you around—it’ll feel like you’ve got a personal soundtrack. David Nield

To change where music is playing, just tap the Room selector button in the Sonos app. It doesn’t matter whether you’re controlling your music on a mobile device or a computer: the button will look like a little arrow underneath a rectangle, and will be prominently displayed.

In the Sonos apps for Windows and macOS, there’s a special button on the Room selector panel labeled Select All – Party Mode. This feature will have your tunes streaming to all your speakers at once with just one tap, so you won’t have to go checking the boxes for each room individually.

4. Customize your speakers to fit their rooms

The platform offers a great feature called Trueplay, though it’s currently only available through the Sonos app for iOS. In an effort to give you the best possible experience, Trueplay modifies the output of each speaker so it best fits the layout and acoustic properties of the room it’s in.

From the app, tap Settings, then System. Next, pick a speaker you want to tune and select Trueplay Tuning. Follow the instructions to use your iOS device and your Sonos speakers to measure the acoustics of the room you’re in, which should only take two or three minutes.

Sonos recommends minimizing all sources of sound during tuning, so it’s best to turn off fans or air conditioners. If you move a speaker’s position in a room or add it to or remove it from a stereo pair, run the Trueplay tuning process again.

5. Get chatty with your Sonos speakers

If you set one speaker with Alexa and the other with the Google Assistant, would they start bickering? David Nield

If you’ve got a Sonos One or a Sonos Beam speaker, you’ll have built-in support for Amazon’s Alexa and the Google Assistant. To get either service set up, tap Settings, Services, and then Add a Service inside the Sonos mobile app.

You’ll have to pick one service for each speaker, so if you have two or more Sonos Beam speakers at home, you could use Alexa in the living room and the Google Assistant in the bedroom, for example.

6. Save your Sonos playlists

Most of the time, you’re probably going to be using your Sonos system to queue up playlists you’ve already made in Spotify, Apple Music, or whatever streaming service you use. However, the Sonos app has its own playlist features that are worth exploring.

It’s a great way of keeping particular music mixes that you don’t want to lose as the queue plays itself through. It’s also handy if you have Sonos connected to more than one music streaming service, since you can combine tracks and playlists from multiple services together in one Sonos playlist.

7. Stream directly from your laptop

Why reinvent the wheel when Apple already has something that works perfectly well? David Nield

Sonos makes desktop clients for Windows and macOS, but when it comes to playing your favorite tunes, you don’t really need to use them. Maybe you prefer the smart playlist functionality you get in the Music app for macOS and the iTunes app in Windows, for example.

The bad news is that if you have a slightly older Sonos model, you might not be able to access this feature. For the moment, it’s only available for newer Sonos speakers with AirPlay 2 support—that means the Sonos One, the Sonos One SL, the Sonos Beam, the Sonos Playbase, and the second-generation Sonos Play:5 speakers.
